4 Directions Read the synopsis and the questions that follow. Choose the best answer for each question. Synopsis of Shiloh This excerpt from the novel Shiloh, by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor, tells the story of a boy who cares for a dog he believes is being mistreated by the dog s owner. He has been hiding the dog in secret and sneaking out at night to pet it and feed it leftovers from his dinner. The boy s mother discovers his actions and comes to discuss the situation. The mother is concerned about the dishonesty in keeping the dog. The excerpt concludes with the mother and son having to decide whether it is right or wrong to return the dog. 2
