1 The Swedish Drentsche Patrijshond Club welcomes you to the annual Drent Meeting in Sälen, Sweden, July 21-28, 2018 For the sixth year in a row the Swedish Drentsche Patrijshond Club arranges its big Drent Meeting in Sälen with lots of activities, trainings, tests, lectures, meetings and a show. Sälen is a beautiful village in the Southern mountains of Sweden, great nature, perfect places to train your dog(s), with lots of activities for the whole family. You can read more about it on The yearly drent meeting is a great way for drent owners from Sweden, Norway, the rest of Scandinavia and Europe or wherever you may live - to get together and exchange experiences. The week offers courses and training for all levels and interests. You can participate in however much or little of the program you like and choose to stay the whole week or part of it. You can start your dog at official tests in blood tracking (July 23-25) and retrieving, water and track (July 26), mentality description, BPH, (July 21) and the week begins with our ClubMatch, an unofficial show for only drentsche patrijshond on Sunday July 22. During the week there will be joint dinners, lectures and meetings about the breed, competitions and awards. Every evening the club tent is open for everyone from 7 PM and coffee and cakes for sale. And of course, there will be the traditional lottery with lots of great wins! Please donate prizes to the lottery. Big or small (but new), the more the better for the club and you. All revenues go towards next year s big drent meeting for an even better program. And don t forget: The lottery is great fun! This test is required every year in order to start at field, mountain or wood trials in Sweden. Those who are not starting their dog at the test are welcome to come along and look. The test takes place at a very beautiful location by the lake Tisjön, with great views and nice places for picnic and lunch. Thu July 26 evening Lecture: How to succeed at blood-tracking Coffee and cake for sale, lottery, the possibility to bring your own food and drink and use the grill. 4 Accomodation We can offer several affordable alternatives, all within walking distance from each other, and with good modern standard. 4 nights is the same as a whole week, which means that you can choose to come earlier or stay longer, in total 7 nights, for the same price. Inform us of your dates of arrival and departure on the entry form. If you arrive on Thursday afternoon and check out Sunday morning you pay a lower price for half the week. You can also stay extra days. You bring your own bed linen and towels. If you prefer, you can also rent linen and towels in the reception. 5 More information about Sälen/Lindvallen: Vaccinations Additional information All participating dogs have to be vaccinated according to the regulations of the Swedish Kennel Club: Participating foreign dogs must be brought into Sweden in accordance with Swedish import requirements for dogs in relation to rabies vaccinations and (if you travel through Norway only) deworming against tapeworms (echinococcus). Participating dogs must be vaccinated against distemper as follows: Dogs under the age of one(1)year: at the age of at least ten (10) weeks. Dogs over the age of one(1)year: thedog must be vaccinated at the age of at least en (10) months, and not more than four (4) years ago. First-time vaccination must be carried out at least fourteen (14) days before the day of the trial, competition and/or show. In addition, SKK recommends that participating dogs are also vaccinated against parvovirus infection and parainfluenza (kennel cough). Pedigree For non-swedish registered dogs you need to bring the dog s pedigree if you wish to enter at the official tests. Please also enlose a copy of the pedigree when applying for the tests (not the training). Participation Fee Training during the week is financed through fees from the participants. You pay 650 SEK per dog handler and 350 SEK per adult without a dog, regardless of how many days or how much you want to participate.
