2 Lauron Red Angus & Guests BULL SALE & Female Sale Offering 60+ BULLS It s an exciting time to be in the livestock industry enjoying great optimism like never before, prices are up in all sectors of market cattle. The cattle we present to you today have been pasture raised without creep, showing us the maternal qualities of their dams. The mother cows are culled vigorously for feet, udder quality, performance and disposition. The females are the back bone of our herd and we are proud to have the quality which is in turn reflected in the bulls and open females offered to you. All the bulls have been wintered together where they have been on an oat based ration, silage, chopped hay and a bull supplement to achieve ample growth without compromising future soundness. They are on a regular herd health program and by sale day will have received a foot rot vaccine that is proving to be of great value to our customers. All bulls on offer will have also passed a semen test and updated scrotal measurements and weights will be available sale day. The heifers are handpicked from the replacement pen and we are confident they will work well in any program, just as their moms have worked for us. They will be palpated prior to sale day. It is time to rebuild, expand and rejuvenate the cow herd as by all accounts the price trend should continue a few more years. Once again we welcome Ric and Linda Arthurs as guest consigners. They consistently bring a tremendous set of bulls. We appreciate the friendship and the many hours they contribute to our sale, special thanks to Jack Hawkings who comes to help work cattle at a moment s notice and to Patrick Milne. Of course we couldn t do it without the help of the boys, Jared, Ryan and Travis, who seem to find the time in their own busy lives. The bulls and heifers can be viewed at the farm located 5 miles east of the Didsbury overpass off QE II highway, (Highway 582) until Thursday prior to the sale and then the Friday afternoon at the Olds Cow Palace. All bulls can be kept free of charge until May 1 and at cost of board thereafter. Buyers receive a $50.00 discount if purchases are taken home sale day, if they return to the farm they must be insured. Delivery may be made in April, but after May 1 they must be picked up by the purchaser. Join us for lunch sale day and some hospitality. His progeny are like peas in a pod, the daughters are moderate with well attached udders. His dam has achieved CAA ELITE status. This will be his last calves as we lost Wallace to an injury.
