Zervoudis Président de Manosmed ALLOCUTION POEME DU PRESIDENT DE MANOSMED BUCAREST, SEPTEMBRE 2014 Dear colleagues, dear friends, It is a great pleasure and honor for me to welcome you in September 2014 in the nice city of Bucharest who will host again a New MANOSMED course. I want to congratulate all the Romanian team and particularly the course director Professor Vlad Tica who once again combines high quality, great professional notoriety and legendary hospitality as Latin Romanian. I hope you will enjoy the lectures of the famous experts who come from various Mediterranean countries. Romania with its historic and cultural wealth will be for you the opportunity to discover a marvelous country. We ll wait all of you also for the next course in Cyprus on April 2015 ( see the website and in Montpellier France for the DU Maladies du sein et depistage who counts also for the diploma of MANOSMED. 3 Dear Guests, Dear Participants Dear Friends, It is always a pleasure almost a wonder to close a cycle. This is what we do, between 10 and 13 of September, this year, in Bucharest, with the occasion of the 4 th Manosmed course - Advanced Breast Cancer. Experience is always a faithful friend and we were lucky to have such a help. Real Friends, are even more precious and we have had them, too. The expertise of Manosmed teachers and Invited Speakers, as well as the dedication on the Manosmed Board were essential in the building of the Scientific Program, as you have it, today. You will witness with us, I am sure, the solidity of the scientific information and the utility of the professional guidance. It, certainly, up to you - to be up to your expectations. We wish that interactivity will be embedded in the texture of the course. Workshops, Round Tables, bilateral Educational Feedback and even the Lectures were conceived as such. Good friend will also be for us Bucharest in these days which linger the summer into the autumn. Good, efficacious, friend was for us the Congress Organizer Paloma Tours. 9 Saturday, September, 13 Social program Round trip (97eur FOR MINIMUM 15 PAX) Bucharest Rasnov Bran Brasov Departure in the morning at 08:00 from International Hotel 4* towards Brasov. e fortress is situated on the border between Transylvania and Wallachia. Commonly known as Dracula s Castle, it is marketed as the home of e castle is now a museum open to tourists, displaying art and furniture collected by Queen Marie. er exploring the castle, you can enjoy the lunch at a local restaurant. ernoon we ll depart to Rasnov fortress. Rasnov fort is situated in small town Rasnov between Brasov and Bran. Fort is in steep height, you can go to the fort by foot or you may go there by interesting transport e fort is huge and impressive. From top of fort breathtaking view is noticeable. Our last stop will be in Brasov. Fringed by the peaks of the Southern Carpathian Mountains and resplendent with gothic, baroque and renaissance architecture, as well as a wealth of historical attractions, Brasov is one of the most visited places in Romania. In the evening, return to Bucharest. 9

10 General Information Bucharest, Romania s largest city and capital, is today a bustling metropolis. Calea Victoriei is Bucharest s oldest and most charming street. Built in 1692 to link the Old Princely Court to Mogosoaia Palace, it was initially paved with oak beams. The street became Calea Victoriei in 1878, after the Romanian War of Independence victory. Between the two world wars, Calea Victoriei developed into one of the most fashionable streets in the city. Stroll along this street from Piata Victoriei to Piata Natiunilor Unite to discover some of the most stunning buildings in the city, including the Cantacuzino Palace, the historical Revolution Square, the Military Club, the CEC Headquarters and the National History Museum. Old Historical Center of Bucharest: Lipscani District Perhaps the city s unique charm can be best observed in the area known as Lipscani, which consists of a jumble of streets between Calea Victoriei, Blvd. Bratianu, Blvd. Regina Elisabeta and the Dambovita River. A once-glamorous residential area, the old city centre is now slowly being refashioned into an upscale neighborhood. Today, the area is home to many art galleries, antique shops and coffeehouses. On a beautiful day, you can stroll down the narrow cobblestone streets and imagine the shopkeepers outside near their stores, encouraging people to buy their merchandise and negotiating prices with them 10

Henri Coanda International Airport (OTP) Address: Calea Bucurestilor 224 Web: Most international flights arrive at Henri Coanda International Airport (Otopeni), located about 12 miles north of downtown Bucharest. Facilities include ATMs, an exchange office and cell phone rentals. Major car rental companies have offices located on the baggage claim level. There are direct flights from multiple destinations in Europe and connecting flights from the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Transfer airport-city center: Private Transfer : please contact the organizer Paloma Tours in order to book your transfer according with your flight schedule (fare is around 35 EUR/transfer) Public transportation: Express Bus 783 (40 minutes to the city center)offers daily service to the city centre, with stops at Baneasa Airport, Piata Presei Libere, Piata Victoriei, Piata Romana, Piata Universitatii and Piata Unirii. The bus leaves from the international departures terminal every 15 minutes (every 30 minutes after 8:30pm and during weekends), from 5:30am until 11:00pm. The journey to downtown takes approximately 40 minutes and the fare is 7 Lei (about $2.5) for a round-trip ticket.
