They ate all the cheese from the vats And spoiled the ladies chats By speaking and shrieking and squeaking In fifty different sharps and flats. Hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of rats Cheeky and sneaky and ravenous rats Fought with the dogs and they killed the cats Hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of rats. Then one day a stranger appeared Dressed in bright yellow and red Said he The Pied Piper am I And I can get rid of those rats. The piper stepped out in the street Put his pipe to his lips and he played He danced all the way across town.. The people of Hamelin cheered And rang all the bells in the town Go said the Mayor and get poles Poke out the nests and block up the holes. So the piper went back to the Mayor Who d faithfully promised to pay One thousand guilders reward The Mayor said Fifty is all you will get. The piper stepped out in the street And once again started to play And all over Hamelin town Came the patter of tiny feet. They followed the piper up Koppelberg Hill A door in the mountain swung open until All of the children were safely inside Then that door in the mountain swung shut. And that s how this sad story ends Not one of those children returned The lesson is clear to us all A promise made is a promise kept.

2 Rumpelstiltskin Story Once upon a time there lived a poor man who had a very clever and beautiful daughter. He was so proud of her he boasted that she could spin straw into gold. Now the king, who was rather fond of gold, heard of this and summoned the girl to his palace. He gave her a spinning wheel and locked her in a room full of straw, with orders to spin the straw into gold before morning, or she would be fed to the royal crocodiles! The girl sat in the corner and began to cry. All of a sudden a strange little man appeared. What will you give me if I can spin this straw into gold? he asked. My necklace she replied, whereupon he sat down at the spinning wheel and within a short time, the room was filled with gold. The greedy king was pleased but wanted more, so he led her to another room full of straw. Once again the girl began to cry but soon the little man was there saying, What will you give me this time to do your task? My ring she replied, so, he set to work again. The king was still not satisfied. He took her to an even bigger room of straw and said, All this must be done tonight and if you succeed you shall be my queen. No sooner had the king left, when the little man appeared. I have nothing left to give you, she sobbed. Then I will have your first baby when you are Queen, he said. Once more he sat down and spun the straw into gold. The king and the girl were married and a year later a baby was born. Sure enough the little man was soon in the Queen s chamber reminding her of her promise. The Queen wept and offered him all her treasures instead, but in vain till at last he said, If within 3 days you can tell me my name, then you can keep the baby. And with that he was gone back to his secret hideaway in the woods where he danced around the fire and sang his secret song. Song Thomas or Kevin or Michael? No! Percy or Jack or Henry? No! William or Philip or Nicholas? No! No No the little man said You ll have to do better than that And he crept away to his house in the woods Where he danced around a fire, singing Bandylegs, Jellybottom, Crookshanks? No! Ferdinand, Englebert, Bembo? No! Knobblyknees, Fly-by-night, Scragbeard? No! No No, the little man said You ll have to do better than that And he crept away to his house in the woods Where he danced around a fire, singing On the 3rd day the Queen was overjoyed to be told by one of her messengers that he had come across the little man s house in the woods and had heard him singing his secret song (Laughing) Crankinghorn, Scallywag, Shortstuff? No! Balchiar, Melchiar, Caspar? No? Perhaps your name is Rumpelstiltskin! (laughing) Who told you that? Who told you that? He jumped up and down and in his anger stamped his foot so hard that it went through the floor and stuck. Red in the face he pulled and pulled at his leg then with one last cry of despair he disappeared in a puff of smoke INSTRUMENTAL INTERLUDE (twice) Riddles and magic were his game Rumpelstiltskin was his name

3 Goldilocks Goldilocks There once was a young lady who lived near the trees Of a forest dark and shady that made her ill at ease One day she wandered far from home, Down the path, along the street, She sang to herself as she walked, Still no-one she chanced to meet. Deep in the forest she looked all around She listened for the calling of the birds sweet sounds Suddenly far away she spied a little home Standing proudly by itself Standing all alone. Goldilocks Goldilocks long golden hair, Daddy Bear and Mummy Bear and little Baby Bear Will soon be coming home so you d better beware She tasted their porridge, each bowl in its turn The smallest was the tastiest she soon was to learn She tried each chair one by one, She tried the beds and lay her head down Before too long she was sound asleep, So weary was she, she heard no sound. x 2 Goldilocks Goldilocks long golden hair, Daddy Bear and Mummy Bear and little Baby Bear Will soon be coming home so you d better beware Snow White & The Prince Snow White lay so still on a lonely lonely hill Seven dwarfs kept their watch around the coffin they sat The wind blew the wind blew the night was eeirie and black Snow White they loved her still but she s never coming back The day dawned morning broke no strangers passed that way O wicked Queen wicked Queen see what you have done She was the fairest the fairest of them all The seven dwarfs bowed their heads until the day was done The next day there came a prince mounted on his steed He saw Snow White and fell down on bended knee He lifted and held her, then kissed her rosy red lips A piece of apple fell to the ground and Snow White opened her eyes The Prince gazed in wonder at this girl who he thought was dead He asked her to be his bride and this is what she said I love you I love you, forever we shall live Happy together still that s how the story ends

4 The Three Little Pigs The first little pig built his house He built it out of straw He started on a Monday, finished on a Wednesday And then he shut the door He thought it was strong but before very long Came a rather peckish wolf 1 Little pig, little pig Little pig won t you let me come in? No no, no no Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin So he huffed and he and he huffed and he And he blew that pig s house in The second little pig built his house He built it out of sticks He started on a Tuesday, finished on a Thursday Around about half past six He thought it was strong but before very long Came a rather peckish wolf 1 The third little pig built his house He built it out of bricks He started on a Wednesday, finished on a Friday He d heard about the old wolf s tricks He knew it was strong but before very long Came the same old peckish wolf 2 Little pig, little pig Little pig won t you let me come in? No no, no no Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin So he huffed and he and he huffed and he And he huffed and he and he huffed and he And he huffed and he and he huffed and he And he huffed and he and he huffed and he But he couldn t blow that brick house in ENDING But the wolf wasn t finished yet He was still determined to get That last little pig for tea So he climbed to the top of a tree Then onto the roof, down the chimney Right into a pot of boiling hot water And so the pig had the wolf for tea instead! Cinderella Once two step sisters went to a ball Each thought that she was the fairest of all The third sister stayed home weeping and dressed only in rags Poor sweet Cinderella she was so kind but she was so sad. Her fairy godmother moved by her tears Said You shall go too, so please do not fear Her fairy godmother took her wand and her rags she changed into gold The Prince he was enchanted by her and so the story is told They danced and they danced around the room The Prince he fell in love but soon The clock in the ballroom did chime She hastened away just in time. The next night there once again was a ball And Cinderella was the fairest of all The Prince smiled as he danced and held this young girl close in his arms Ne er before had he met someone with such grace, beauty and charm. And they danced, and they danced so perfectly In a world of their own, then suddenly Once again she slipped away The Prince watched her go with dismay. But she left her glass slipper on the palace steps outside the prince said The girl who can wear this surely will be my bride And you know of course that s just how this fairy tale story it did unfold Sweet sweet Cinderella married her Prince so handsome and bold La la la.. They danced and they danced into the night The moo was full and the stars were bright. La la la

5 Jack and the Beanstalk Fe fi fo fum I smell the blood of an Englishman Be he alive or be he dead I ll grind his bones to make my bed Jack climbed the beanstalk He was only ten years old And watched as the giant Was counting up his gold The giant soon got sleepy He soon began to snore Jack grabbed a bag of gold and quickly Scampered out the door And down the beanstalk Jack scurried Look Mum we don t have to be poor any more Fe fi fo fum Jack climbed the beanstalk On the very next day again He found the giant wide awake And talking to his hen Lay me a golden egg He heard the giant say And when the giant fell asleep Jack stole the hen away And down the beanstalk Jack scurried Look Mum we don t have to be poor any more Fe fi fo fum Jack s mother begged him To never climb up again But Jack said, Just one more time And that will be the end He crept up to the giant Who was playing a magic harp And quick as a flash and without a sound He snatched it in the dark Then down the beanstalk Jack scurried One blow with the axe down under The giant fell with a crash like thunder Jack said Look Mum the giant s dead - We don t have to be poor anymore The Billy Goats Gruff A little billy goat stepped on to a bridge Only to be met by a hungry Troll Don t eat me up, don t eat me up There s a bigger billy goat coming soon.
