1 Regulation X /2017 X made under the Business Licensing By law Schedule X Pet Shop Business 1. Definitions 1.1 Terms used in this Regulation have the same meaning as in the Business Licensing By law L 6 and draft Business Licensing By law L X as amended from time to time. 2. Operational Standards 2.1 The following are prescribed Operational Standards for the purpose of section X of Schedule X of the By law. 2.2 Manner, form and content of records to be kept a) Every licensed Pet Shop Business shall maintain a log book containing the following information: (i) species of animal; (ii) general description; (iii) gender; (iv) age; (v) vaccination record; and (vi) where the animal was acquired from. b) The log book information should be maintained for two years from the date an animal was acquired. c) Positive List (Animals permitted to be displayed in, sold or offered for sale) Mammal (Captive bred only) Canis familiaris Domesticated Dog (rescue source only) Cavia porcellus Guinea Pig Chinchilla lanigera Chinchilla Felis catus Domesticated Cat (rescue source only) Lemniscomys barbarus Zebra Mouse Meriones unquiculatus (Mongolian) Gerbil Mesocricetus auratus (Golden) Hamster Mus musculus House Mouse Mustela putorius furo Domesticated Ferret

Further criteria may be considered at a future date. REPTILES (Captive Bred Only) All current species allowed in the PH3 Animal Control By law. Further criteria may be considered at a future date. Reptile additions deferred by 6 months for consultation with relevant stakeholders and vetting according to established inclusion criteria. AMPHIBIANS (Captive Bred Only) No amphibians recommended due to threat of Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis and Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans.
5 INVERTEBRATES (Captive Bred Only) Insecta various sp. Bees, Feeder insects such as crickets, mealworms, other worms, flies, cockroaches, etc. Invertebrate additions deferred for vetting according to established inclusion criteria. 2.3 Manner, form and content of the list of animals or classes of animals a) Signage as provided by the City of London of the list of classes of animals permitted to be displayed in, sold or offered for sale to be posted in a conspicuous location within the Pet Shop. 2.4 Information to be Provided to the Customers who are Purchasing Domestic Dogs and Cat a) Every customer who purchases a domestic dog or cat shall receive the following information from the Pet Shop Business: (i) species of animal; (ii) general description; (iii) gender; age; (iv) vaccination record; and (v) where the animal was acquired from. b) Every licensed Pet Shop Business shall maintain a log book containing the following information: 2.5 Approved Rescue Groups a) Approved rescue groups are identified on the City of London website. As this is an evolving list, the updated information can be found by searching for adoptable pets at 3. Miscellaneous 3.1 This Regulation shall come into force and effect on,.
