2 I ACKNOWLEDGMENTS I am deeply indebted to my supervisors Dr. Abdullah M. AL- Dughaym and Prof. Ali Fadlelmula for their encouraging, patience fairly guidance and understanding during the course of this study. Thanks are also extended to Prof. Abdurahman Al-moagel Dr. Abdurahman Al-Angari., Dr.K.A.AL-Busadah and Dr.M.E.AL-Bowait for their help and encouragement. Thanks are due to Dr. Elmahi B. Abdulsalam, histopathology technician Meflih Alshahrani and also technician Abdulltif Al-sager, Thanks are due to my best friends D. Mohammed Al-Hamadi and Dr. Fahad AL- hizab.i m also thankful to the Dean of Graduate Studies, Dean of Library And Dean Of Scientific Research namely Prof. Adel Al-Afaleq., Dr. Fadhel AL- Hosawi and Dr. Abdulazeez AL-Mohsen and their staffs members for their valuable help during the study. I m also grateful to Dr. Ahmed Al-Lowimi and Dr.Mohamed AL- Abdalli for their help during all my study time also thanks are due to Dr. Isam M.A. El-Jalii for final reviewing of my research. I m deeply Indebted to the Dr. Jamal Almadhidi & Dr.Kim A. Borgedn for supply of number of references.
3 II I m also thanks all staff of slaughter house at al Hofuf with great appreciation to Mr. Ali Abu Hussein and Mr. Kasim Kalpath for the help and arrangement for collection of samples.finally I m greatly thankful to my father, mother, wife and brothers especially waleed AL- Garadi for their support during all my study life.
4 III SUMMARY Three hundered thirty sex lungs from slaughtered goats in AL-Ahsa slaughter hous were examined macroscopically for presence of pneumonia 155(45.32%) of the examined lungs showed pneumonic lesions. Bacteriological examination of 155 pneumonic lung revealed isolation of many bacterial species. The bacteriological study on pneumonia of respiratory organs from (155) goats had sever respiratory symptoms revealed the isolation of Mycoplasma species which included Mycoplasma mycoides subspecies mycoides LC type (MmmLC type) and Mycoplasma arginini (Ma) The MmmLC type represent (2.6%). whereas Ma represent (1.3%) from total pneumonic lungs. Also Pasteurella multocida was isolated in this study which has (1.94%) from total pneumonic lung whose only Pasteurella spp. was isolated. Moreover the isolated bacterial species were Staph. aureus (7.9%), Acinetobacte/ pseudomonas spp. (5.6%), Kocuria kristinae (5.09%), Aeromonas hydrophila/caviae & Stomatococcus mucilaginosus have (4.6 %), Staph. epidermidis and Staph. hominis (3.7%) Kocuria rosea, Serratia marcescens & Cellu.spp/ Microb. spp. have (3.2%), Pantoea spp., Aeromonas sobria, Aerococcus viridans have (2.8%), Acinetobacter lwoffii, Staph warneri have (2.31%) Also Aeromonas hydrophila gr,
5 IV Brevibacterium spp., Rhodococcus spp, Sphingomonas paucimobilis, Staph. capitis represented (1.9%). The sensitivity test was carried out on Mycoplasma spp., Pasteurella spp. and on the most common others isolated bacteria species. All Mycoplasma isolates were sensitive to Gentamicin, Tetracycline, Lincomycin, Norfloxacin & Framycin. P. multocida was sensitive to wide range of antibiotics such as Neomycin, Norfloxacin, Oxytetracyclin, Sulphamethoxazole / trimethoprim, Gentamycin, Ampicillin & Doxycyclin. The most common other isolated spp. showed highly sensitive to Norfloxacin, Carbenicillin, Doxycyclin & Oxytetracyclin. The bacteria isolated from lungs abscessation showed high sensitivity to Doxycyclin and Norfloxacin. Whereas to Ampicillin, Kanamycin, Oxytetracyclin, penicillin G showed variable degrees of sensitivity. Histopathological examination on pneumonic lesion showed bronchopneumonia with infiltration of leukocytes and fibrinous fluid inside the alveoli and bronchioles.
