The Fairgounds are on the right. Entrance is at North end. FROM FAIRBANKS & WASILLA: Take Parks Hwy to Palmer/ Wasilla Hwy, turn left. Turn right at Glenn Hwy. Fairgrounds will be on your left. EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTE Gates will be open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Friday & Saturday. The grounds are to be vacated as quickly as possible upon completion of Best In Show on Sunday. THERE WILL BE NO ACCESS TO THE FAIRGOUNDS BEFORE 1:00 PM THURSDAY AFTERNOON, JULY 26, THE GATES WILL BE LOCKED AT 11:00 PM NIGHTLY UNTIL 7:00 AM EACH MORNING. Emergency Contact Carolyn Tolson, The facilities for our shows at the Fairgrounds are excellent, and to ensure that we will have the use of this beautiful site in the future, please follow these rules: DAY PARKING on the grounds is limited and available on a first-come first served-basis at $5.00 per day. Obtain a day permit at the front gate. No overnight parking will be allowed in this lot. Free parking will be available in the parking lots outside the fenced grounds, with Non-Exhibitors walk-in fee of $1.00 per person (kids under 12 free). ALL PARKING IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. THE CLUB ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEFT AND/OR DAMAGE TO ANY VEHICLE OF ITS CARGO. EACH OVERNIGHT PARKING SPACE ACCOMMODATES TRUCK AND TRAILER OR MOTOR HOME WITH PULL VEHICLE. ALL OTHER VEHICLES MUST BE REMOVED BY 10:30 PM NIGHTLY OR WILL BE CHARGED THE OVERNIGHT FEE FOR PARKING. OVERNIGHT PARKING SPACES with electricity are available at $50.00 for show weekend. Parking spaces will be assigned and those wishing to park together must send in reservations together. HANDICAPPED parking will be available on a limited bases. Please include a copy of your handicapped sticker. Only those vehicles with overnight parking permits will be allowed to remain overnight on the fairgrounds. Any vehicle parked illegally will be towed at the owner s expense. CHILDREN must be monitored at all times. No bicycles, four-wheelers, golf carts, skate boards, or scooters will be allowed on the grounds as per fairground s regulations. All vehicles must be self-contained. NO DISCHARGE OF GREY WATER OR SANITARY TANKS IS PERMITTED. EXHIBITORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES AND CLEAN-UP of their area. Use only MARKED exercise area for dog elimination. AKC approval is not required. The entire entry in a breed is to be examined in the same manner (ground, table, or ramp). At the discretion of the judge, the following breeds may be judged on the ground or on a ramp through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging: Lagotto Romagnolo, American Water Spaniels, Clumber Spaniels, English Springer Spaniels, Field Spaniels, Welsh Springer Spaniels, Cirneco dell Etnas, American Staffordshire Terriers, Irish Terriers, Kerry Blue Terriers, Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Finnish Spitz, Keeshonden, Entlebucher Mountain Dogs, Finnish Lapphunds, Norwegian Buhunds, Polish Lowland Sheepdogs, Spanish Water Dogs, and Norrbottenspets (Misc.). At the discretion of the judge through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging, the following breeds may be judged on the ground, a ramp, or on a table: Boykin Spaniels and Whippets. The following breeds must be judged on a ramp through all levels of conformation competition: Sussex Spaniels, Basset Hounds, Bulldogs, Chinese Shar-Pei and Chow Chows. This extends to all conformation competition at AKC conformation dog shows and any AKC event where a conformation title may be earned. This policy includes Group, BIS, Junior Showmanship, the 4 6 Month Beginner Puppy Competition, the AKC National Owner-Handled Series (NOHS), and all other special attractions that offer Group and BIS competitions. Ramps can be used in emergency situation to judge any breed. In an emergency situation, where use of a ramp is not indicated in the premium list, an exhibitor has the option of withdrawing their entry and receiving a refund. For the judging of juniors the ramp may be used at the discretion of the judge for the ramp optional breeds. (03/2018) PEE WEE CLASS SPECIAL ATTRACTION SATURDAY, JULY 28 NO ENTRY FEE JUDGE: CINDY MEYER The Pee Wee Special Attraction is a pre-junior Showmanship class. The Pee Wee class is geared toward children 5-9 years of age. Safety is a primary concern. Each Pee Wee unit consists of the child, his/her parent/ guardian/responsible adult, and the dog. Only one Pee Wee unit is in the ring at a time. This is not a competitive class, but rather a fun, learning experience for the child and the adult. A dog must be at least four months of age to enter the Pee Wee class. Bitches in season will not be allowed to participate. If preentered, a dog may be substituted that meets the eligibility requirements as specified by the club. All dogs entered must have the proper lead and collar. A responsible adult must be present with the child both inside and outside the ring. The adult is to maintain control of the dog outside of the ring. The safety of both the dogs and Juniors inside and outside the ring is a primary concern. Outside of the ring, the dog is to be controlled by the adult accompanying the child. An additional lead, provided by the Club, will be at the Judge s table. At the Judge s discretion based upon the size of the child and the dog, for safety purposes the adult may be asked to attach a second lead to the dog so both child and adult will walk the dog together. REGISTRATION WILL BE TAKEN AT THE CLUB TABLE SATURDAY MORNING, STARTING AT. EACH ENTRANT WILL BE REQUIRED TO FILL OUT AN ENTRY FORM. IN ADDITION TO AN ENTRY, A RELEASE MUST BE SIGNED BY THE CHILD S PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN. JUDGING WILL BE HELD DURING THE BREAK. NO ENTRY FEE. PeeWee Entries are open to All Breeds, including Miscellaneous and FSS Breeds, and All-American Dogs listed in the AKC Canine Partners Program. TRANSFER OF ENTRIES EXHIBITORS NOTE: BECAUSE OF TRAVEL TO THE SHOW SITE, TRANSFER OF ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IN THE OFFICE AFTER 12:00 NOON ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 25. AFTER THIS TIME, YOU MUST CONTACT THE SUPERINTENDENT ON SITE. CONFORMATION: Dogs may be transferred from one of the regular classes to the Best of Breed or Variety competition, provided this transfer is presented to the Superintendent at least one half-hour prior to the scheduled start of any regular conformation judging at the show. JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP: Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition present after the closing of entries for a show may transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class provided that this transfer is made by the Superintendent at least one-half hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship judging at the show. Correction may be made from one age division to another. provided this transfer must be made to the Superintendent at least one half-hour prior to the judging of any Junior Showmanship class at the show. OBEDIENCE OR RALLY: A transfer (i.e., from an obedience class to an obedience class; or a rally class to a rally class) may be requested if, according to the owner s records the handler and dog are eligible provided the club offers transfers. Transfers from an A to B class at the same level are allowed provided the host club allows transfers. The request for a transfer must be in writing and presented to the superintendent or trial secretary at least 30 minutes prior to the start of each trial. Clubs may choose to accept transfers prior to the day of the trial and this should be clearly stated in the premium list. Transfers may be approved provided the class and judge are available, and the class has not reached its limit.
