Take the Sterling Hwy. south to Soldotna. Proceed through town staying on the Sterling Hwy. The show grounds are on the right at Skyview Middle School. The school is 1.3 miles past the intersection of the Sterling Hwy. and Kalifornsky Beach Road (the stoplight after the bridge). 2 ATTENTION EXHIBITORS PLEASE FOLLOW THESE RULES NO PARKING IS ALLOWED IN THE SWIMMING POOL PARKING AREA! KPBSD s contract prohibits alcohol/non-prescription drugs/smoking on school grounds. All garbage and dog waste MUST be placed in club s garbage cans or the reserved dumpster. DO NOT PLACE GARBAGE IN ANY OF THE SCHOOL CONTAINERS! ABSOLUTELY NO DOGS ALLOWED ON THE TENNIS COURTS AT ANY TIME! Violators are subject to a bench hearing. There is no electricity available to use. DO NOT plug extension cords into the building - the school has security cameras! There may not be water available. Kenai Kennel Club reserves the right to revoke camping & parking privileges if rules are ignored. Space is limited at this show and is on a first come, first served basis. Please plan accordingly. Parking may fill prior to the closing date of June 28, The Show Site will be available for set-up after the show rings & superintendent s tent are set up. NO EXCEPTIONS! Day Parking is $5.00 per car. Weekend passes are available for purchase. Minimal day parking is available for motorhomes. Please take steps to ensure your dogs are not digging the grass at your set up we cannot leave holes in the fields! Please clean up your parking/grooming area. Failure to do so may result in loss of parking privileges. DO NOT leave dog hair, sawdust, garbage, etc. behind. Please keep your area clean. Children must be kept under control. No Parking or driving on the show grounds during show hours except for Judges, Superintendent and Show Committee. Vendors must be parked and set up no later than 8:00AM. Handicap Parking is available - violators will be towed at their expense. Shelters are for exhibitors immediately entering the rings. There will be no grooming or storing of dogs in the shelters. Dogs must be removed immediately after exhibition. Reserved Grooming is available. The grooming setups are allowed on the show grounds in designated areas. ALL RIGHTS TO TELEVISE, VIDEOTAPE, ADVERTISE, PHOTOGRAPH, PROMOTE or otherwise exploit this event are vested in the Club, or in persons to whom assignments of such rights have been made in writing by the Club. All persons and animals on the Show Grounds at any time while the show is in progress, do by attending this show or participating therein, grant to the Club the right to photograph, televise, videotape, audiotape or otherwise use their likeness and voice in any manner without further release or consent. RESERVED GROOMING RULES DO NOT PLUG INTO ANY SCHOOL BUILDING OUTLETS! KPBSD s contract prohibits alcohol/non-prescription drugs/smoking on school grounds. Vehicles will not be allowed to park in the reserved grooming area during show hours and must park in Day Parking. No parking will be allowed in the swimming pool area at the back of the school. Exhibitors are responsible for damages & clean-up of their reserved spaces. 2 KENAI KENNEL CLUB JULY 2017 OVERNIGHT RV & TENT CAMPING RULES Generators only between the hours of 6:00 am 10:00 pm SHOWERS The school will NOT be open for showers except during swimming pool hours on Thursday and Friday. Overnight campers must pay the $5 swim fee in order to shower at those times. NOTE: KPBSD REQUIRES NO SMOKING OR ALCOHOL ON THE SHOW GROUNDS. ALL GARBAGE AND DOG WASTE MUST BE PLACED IN KKC PROVIDED GARBAGE CANS OR DUMPSTER. DO NOT USE ANY SCHOOL CONTAINERS! ALL CAMPERS & MOTORHOMES MUST BE FULLY CONTAINED. NO ELECTRICITY OR WATER HOOKUP AVAILABLE. All RVs that have been assigned overnight parking down on the lower field MUST follow the signs that will direct you across the field next to the agility area! No Exceptions! Absolutely no RVs to short-cut it down the hill PLEASE make sure your dogs are not digging in the grass at your set up! USE OF RAMPS ALL BREEDS A judge requesting the use of a ramp must give notice to the show superintendent/show secretary prior to judging. AKC approval is not required. The entire entry in a breed is to be examined in the same manner (ground, table, or ramp). At the discretion of the judge, the following breeds may be judged on the ground or on a ramp through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging: Lagotto Romagnolo, American Water Spaniels, Clumber Spaniels, English Springer Spaniels, Field Spaniels, Welsh Springer Spaniels, Cirneco dell Etnas, American Staffordshire Terriers, Irish Terriers, Kerry Blue Terriers, Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Finnish Spitz, Keeshonden, Norwegian Buhunds, Polish Lowland Sheepdogs, Spanish Water Dogs, and Norrbottenspets (Misc.). At the discretion of the judge through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging, the following breeds may be judged on the ground, a ramp, or on a table: Boykin Spaniels and Whippets. The following breeds must be judged on a ramp through all levels of conformation competition: Sussex Spaniels, Basset Hounds, Bulldogs, Chinese Shar-Pei and Chow Chows. This extends to all conformation competition at AKC conformation dog shows and any AKC event where a conformation title may be earned. This policy includes Group, BIS, Junior Showmanship, the 4 6 Month Beginner Puppy Competition, the AKC National Owner-Handled Series (NOHS), and all other special attractions that offer Group and BIS competitions. Ramps can be used in emergency situation to judge any breed. In an emergency situation, where use of a ramp is not indicated in the premium list, an exhibitor has the option of withdrawing their entry and receiving a refund. For the judging of juniors the ramp may be used at the discretion of the judge for the ramp optional breeds. (03/2017) PEE WEE CLASS SPECIAL ATTRACTION SATURDAY, JULY 15 NO ENTRY FEE ENTRY LIMIT: 15 The Pee Wee Special Attraction is a pre-junior Showmanship class. The Pee Wee class is geared toward children 5 9 years of age. Safety is a primary concern. Each Pee Wee unit consists of the child, his/ her parent/guardian/responsible adult, and the dog. Only one Pee Wee unit is in the ring at a time. This is not a competitive class, but rather a fun, learning experience for the child and the adult. A dog must be at least four months of age to enter the Pee Wee class. Bitches in season will not be allowed to participate. If pre-entered, a dog may be substituted that meets the eligibility requirements as specified by the club. All dogs entered must have the proper lead and collar. A responsible adult must be present with the child both inside and outside the ring. The adult is to maintain control of the dog outside of the ring. The safety of both the dogs and Juniors inside and outside the ring is a primary concern. Outside of the ring, the dog is to be controlled by the adult accompanying the child. An additional lead, provided by the Club, will be at the Judge s table. At the Judge s discretion based upon the size of the child and the dog, for safety purposes the adult may be asked to attach a second lead to the dog so both child and adult will walk the dog together. REGISTRATION WILL BE TAKEN AT THE CLUB TABLE SATURDAY MORNING, STARTING AT. EACH ENTRANT WILL BE REQUIRED TO FILL OUT AN ENTRY FORM. IN ADDITION TO AN ENTRY, A RELEASE MUST BE SIGNED BY THE CHILD S PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN. JUDGING WILL BE HELD DURING THE LUNCH BREAK. NO ENTRY FEE. PeeWee Entries are open to All Breeds, including Miscellaneous and FSS Breeds, and All-American Dogs listed in the AKC Canine Partners Program. TRANSFER OF ENTRIES TRANSFER OF ENTRIES & REFUND REQUESTS FOR PUBLISHED JUDGE CHANGES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IN THE OFFICE AFTER 12:00 NOON ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 11. AFTER THIS TIME, YOU MUST CONTACT THE SUPERINTENDENT ON SITE. CONFORMATION: Dogs may be transferred from one of the regular classes to the Best of Breed or Variety competition, provided this transfer is presented to the Superintendent at least one half-hour prior to the scheduled start of any regular conformation judging at the show. JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP: Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition, if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open, after closing of entries for a show are required to transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class by notifying the Superintendent at least one-half hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship juding at the show. Correction may be made from one age division to another, provided this transfer must be made to the Superintendent at least one half-hour prior to the judging of any Junior Showmanship class at the show. OBEDIENCE OR RALLY: A transfer may be requested if, according to the owner s records the handler and dog are eligible provided the club offers transfers. Transfers from an A to B class at the same level are allowed provided the host club allows transfers. The request for a transfer must be in writing and presented to the superintendent at least 30 minutes prior to the start of each trial. Transfers may be approved provided the class and judge are available, and the class has not reached its limit.
