ENTRY FEES will not be refunded in the event of errors or cancellations of entries after the published closing date, nor in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by the Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee. NO ENTRY shall be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. NO DOGS wrongly entered in a class may be transferred to another class, except as provided for in Chapter 11, Section 6 of the AKC Rules Applying To Dog Shows. INSTRUCTIONS FOR ENTERING DOGS With New E Mailed Entry Forms: THIS SYSTEM WORKS BEST WITH A LAPTOP OR DESKTOP COMPUTER Open the new ed Entry Form first: Save as entry #1, Then fill it out the form, save, and exit. Open the new ed Entry Form again and save as entry #2, continuing on for all your Entries. Or with Standard Entry Forms: Fill the Form the usual way, continuing on for all your Entries. NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING SINGLE DOG ENTRIES Veteran Dog (7-9 years)...veteran Bitch (7-9 years) Veteran Dog (Over 9 years).. Veteran Bitch (Over 9 years) (For Dogs or Bitches 7 years old or older -- Neutered Dogs and Spayed Bitches may compete in the Veterans Classes ONLY at Independent Specialty Shows--AKC Dog Show Rules, Chapter 14, Section 8). BEST OF BREED COMPETITION NATIONAL OWNER-HANDLED SERIES Best Bred By Exhibitor in Show Competition (AM Only) Best Puppy in Show Competition (AM Only) Best Veteran in Show Competition (AM Only) The First place puppy of each of the four Puppy Classes (6-9 months & 9-12 months only, dogs & bitches) are eligible to compete for the Best Puppy in Show Competition. Likewise, the First place veteran of each of the four Veteran Classes (7-9 years& Over 9 years, dogs & bitches) are eligible to compete for the Best Veteran in Show Competition. The First place winner of each of the two Bred By Exhibitor Classes (dogs & bitches) are eligible to compete for the Best Bred By Exhibitor in Show Competition. For the American Kennel Club definition of Puppy, Bred By Exhibitor, American Bred and Open classes, see Chapter 3, Rules Applying to Dog Shows. NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES, AM ONLY Stud Dog Class - For dogs that have sired at least two dogs or bitches entered in this show. The award will be based on the merits of the get. The owner of the Stud Dog need not be the owner of the get. Stud Dog must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and shown in the ring with his get. As the decision of the judge in this class will be based on the merits of more than one dog, no one of the dogs making up the entry judged First in this class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. Brood Bitch Class - For bitches that have whelped at least two dogs or bitches entered in this show. The award will be based on the merits of the produce. The owner of the Brood Bitch need not be the owner of the produce. Brood Bitch must be entered in the Brood Bitch Class and shown in the ring with her produce. As the decision of the judge in this class will be based on the merits of more than one dog, no one of the dogs making up the entry judged First in this class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. Brace Class - For two or more dogs of the same breed and variety, irrespective of sex, with identical ownership. 4

5 PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES (AM SHOW ONLY) Sweepstakes will be open to all owners and breeders of Boston Terriers where the dogs are between the ages of six months and eighteen months. Dogs entered in this Sweepstakes must also be entered in the Regular Classes. Champions of Record are not eligible to compete in this event; however, puppies with major wins may compete. Mark entries for Sweepstakes in the box on the Official AKC Entry Form for Additional Classes and enter on the same form at the same time as for the Regular Classes. No professional handlers may handle any puppy/dog entered in sweepstakes unless the puppy/dog is owned or co-owned by the handler. Sweepstakes Classes for both sexes Puppy 6 to 9 Months...Puppy 9 to 12 Months 12 to 18 Months Class winners will compete for Best in Sweepstakes and Best of Opposite Sex to Best in Puppy Sweepstakes. SWEEPSTAKES PRIZE MONEY: Money received for entries in the Sweepstakes will be distributed as follows: 35% will be retained by the Club to defray expenses. The remaining 65% will be distributed as follows: BIS will get 60% & BOS to BIS will get 40% VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES (AM SHOW ONLY) Veteran Sweepstakes is open to all Boston Terriers who on the day of the show will be at least seven (7) years of age. Veteran Sweepstakes entries need not be entered in any regular or non-regular classes. Veteran Sweepstakes classes will be judged before regular classes. Veteran Sweepstakes Classes Dogs (7 yrs & under 9 yrs)....bitches (7 yrs & under 9 yrs) Dogs (9 yrs & older).bitches (9 yrs & older) Class winners will compete for Best in Veteran Sweepstakes and Best of Opposite Sex to Best in Veteran Sweepstakes. 6 JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP AM ONLY Novice Junior Class - For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years and under 12 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Place, with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Novice Intermediate Class - For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Place, with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Novice Senior Class - For boys and girls who are at least 15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member club show. Open Junior Class - For boys and girls who are at least 10 years old and under 14 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three (3) first place awards with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member club show. Open Intermediate Class - For Boys and Girls who are at least 12 years and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Place, with competition present in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open Senior Class - For boys and girls who are at least 15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three (3) first place awards with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member club show. NOTICE: Juniors who substitute for the original dog they have entered in the Jr Showmanship classes with dogs that are not entered in one of the offered classes at this show must remit the Jr. Showmanship only entry fee with their substitution. Master Class - For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won ten First Places, with competition present, in an Open Class at a licensed or member show. The calendar for this class will be November 1 - October 31 of the following year. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry without charge, the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to compete for the following year. 12 WINNER TROPHIES The Sierra Gold Boston Terrier Club is pleased to offer the trophies noted below at its two shows this year. Please remember: Trophies must be picked up the day of the show. No trophies will be mailed or otherwise distributed. BEST OF BREED MEMORIAL PERPETUAL TROPHY The Sierra Gold Boston Terrier Club will offer this memorial perpetual trophy during the AM Specialty show. This trophy honors the memory of CH ABBA's Magnetic Attraction, RN, NA, NAJ, CGC aka "Maggie" who was a true ambassador of the breed. The Trophy is offered by Jan Christman, DVS Bostons and Carol Enright, ABBA's Bostons. The trophy is to remain in the possession of the Club until such time that it is retired. To become retired, the BOB award must be won three (3) times by the same primary owner, not necessarily with the same dog nor at consecutive specialty shows. (Primary owner is defined as the owner whose name appears first on the dog's AKC registration and to whom AKC sends correspondence.) BEST VETERAN MEMORIAL PERPETUAL TROPHY The Sierra Gold Boston Terrier Club will unveil its newest memorial perpetual trophy beginning at the AM Specialty show. This Best Veteran Perpetual memorial trophy will be presented in loving memory of CH Cool Maximum Impression aka "Max", as offered by Lynda Bradley, Avalon Bostons. 14 * * * IMPORTANT NOTICES * * * MORNING HOSPITALITY The Sierra Gold Boston Terrier Club is honored to offer complimentary morning hospitality to it's exhibitors. Coffee, Juice, pastries will be available before the start of the show. Come by and say 'HI' and enjoy our refreshments. Donations cheerfully accepted! :-) LUNCH Please plan to join us for lunch and spend some time visiting with old friends and making some new ones. Please note that this year, RSVPs for lunch are MANDATORY. We do not want to run out of food, so please RSVP no later than Oct. 19 th. Exhibitors who RSVP will be given tickets upon arrival to redeem for lunch first, followed by exhibitors who did not RSVP and spectators, who are welcome to join us for lunch immediately thereafter. The Sierra Gold Boston Terrier Club will provide a scrumptious lunch in appreciation of your continued support and entries!!! Be prepared to feast on a special lunch, refreshing drinks (water or soda). Donations will be gratefully accepted, but not required.
