All those in Best of Breed compe on shall be eligible to receive an Award of Merit, except the Best of Breed Winner, the Best of Winners, and the Best of Opposite Sex Winner. Rose es are offered for recipients of Awards of Merit. *** Points For Reserve *** At the Na onal Specialty the dog designated Reserve Winners Dog and the bitch designated Reserve Winners Bitch will be awarded a three point major, provided that the number of dogs compe ng in the regular classes of the Reserve Winner s sex totals at least twice the number required for a five point major, in the region in which the event is held. No major for Reserve Winners shall be given based upon an award of Best of Winners. In coun ng the number of eligible dogs in compe on, a dog that is disqualified, or that is dismissed, excused or ordered from the ring by the judge, or from which all awards are withheld, shall not be included. PRIZES: Trophies, Ribbons/Rose es, or other prizes will be awarded in the ring to the person exhibi ng the dog, who shall be considered the owner or agent. 8 Breed Classifications (Na onal & Regional) The following classes will be provided for both dogs and bitches Puppy 6 months and under 9 months Puppy 9 months and under 12 months 12 months and under 15 months 15 months and under 18 months Amateur Owner Handler Bred by Exhibitor American Bred Open Winners Best of Breed Compe on NON REGULAR (ADDITIONAL) CLASSES INVOLVING SINGLE DOG ENTRIES For both Dogs and Bitches Veterans 7 Yrs & under 9 Yrs Veterans 9 Yrs & under 10 Yrs 10 Yrs & under 11 Yrs 11 Yrs & older Entrants in the Veterans Classes need NOT be intact. Spayed and neutered animals are eligible. Winners of the above Non Regular Single Dog Classes, if otherwise undefeated are eligible to compete for Best of Breed. NON REGULAR (ADDITIONAL) CLASSES INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES *As the judge's decision in the Stud Dog, Brood Bitch & Brace classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won either of these classes. Stud Dogs & Brood Bitches may be Spayed or Neutered. STUD DOG CLASS For Stud dogs & at least two of their Get. Stud dog must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their Get. The owner of the stud dog need not necessarily be owner of the Get. While the merits of the Stud dog are not considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud dog must be examined to determine if it has a condi on that would require its disqualifica on or excusal under Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard of the breed. Get must be entered in a regular class, Best of Breed Compe on, or some other Non Regular class. BROOD BITCH CLASS same as for Stud Dog except subs tute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get. BRACE CLASS The Brace Class shall be for two dogs of at least one iden cal owner or co owner regardless of sex. The two dogs comprising the Brace shall be considered a unit and they must be named at me of entry. If a dog, which is to be part of a brace is not entered in a regular class, or Best of Breed Compe on, the dog must be entered for Brace Class Only. In making entries for Brace Class Only, full par culars must be given for each dog on individual regular entry forms. An entry form for a dog entered in another class and entered as a part of a brace, MUST be marked accordingly in the space provided for ADDITIONAL CLASSES Brace Class. If more than one Brace is entered by the iden cal owner, the dogs comprising EACH brace must be designated, Brace No. 1, Brace No. 2, etc. Please submit Brace entries together. 8

9 JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP Novice Junior Class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show and who at the me entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with compe on present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Novice Intermediate Class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who at the me entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with compe on present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Novice Senior Class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the me entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with compe on present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open Junior Class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show and who at the me entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with compe on present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open Intermediate Class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show and who at the me entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with compe on present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open Senior Class shall be for boys and girls who are at least 15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the me entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with compe on present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Master Class for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won the 10 first place wins in an Open class with compe on to be eligible to enter the Limited Class Compe on. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC Eukanuba Na onal Championship. All Juniors mee ng the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility me frame for that year has passed all par cipants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year. NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry. You may obtain your junior iden fica on number by calling the AKC, Judges Educa on Department (919) Be sure all informa on for Junior Showmanship is entered on front & back of entry form. 10 2014 REGIONAL & NATIONAL SPECIALTY PUPPY/VETERANS SWEEPSTAKES The Sweepstakes is open to all American Staffordshire Terriers who, on the day of the show, will be at least 6 months of age and under 18 months of age. Sweepstakes entries MUST be entered in a Regular class at the regular entry fee for the same show as the Sweepstakes. i.e. For the Regional Sweepstakes entry, the dog must be entered in a regular class for the Regional show. Indicate your Sweepstakes Class with age division in the space provided for Addi onal Class. Classifica ons The following classes will be provided for both dogs and bitches. Puppy, 6 Mos & Under 9 Mos Puppy, 9 Mos & Under 12 Mos 12 Mos & Under 15 Mos 15 Mos & Under 18 Mos The Veteran Sweepstakes is open to all American Staffordshire Terriers who are at least 7 years old on the day of the show. Sweepstakes entries NEED NOT be entered in a Regular class at the regular entry fee for the same show as the Sweepstakes. Indicate your Sweepstakes Class with age division in the space provided for Addi onal Class. Classifica ons The following classes will be provided for both dogs and bitches. Claims for prize money must be made in the ring before the judging of that breed is over and the Superintendent advised at once. The Superintendent and show giving Club disclaim any liability for cash prizes a er the judging of the breed is over. DIVISION OF SWEEPSTAKES MONIES FOR EACH SWEEPSTAKES 20% of the total entry fees will be retained by the Club for expenses. 11 2014 NATIONAL FUTURITY STAKES The purpose of the Futurity Stake is to encourage the breeding of the best possible Am Staffs and to reward the breeders for their efforts. Recogni on is also given the owners in whose hands lay the responsibility of developing the Futurity hopefuls. Trophies & Ribbons A rose e will be awarded for Best Dog in Futurity and Best Bitch in Futurity Rose es will be awarded for first thru fourth placements Breeder of Best Dog in Futurity: A Dannyquest Am Staff trophy Breeder of Best Bitch in Futurity; A Dannyquest Am Staff trophy Owner of Best Dog in Futurity: $50.00 Owner of Best Bitch in Futurity: $50.00 FUTURITY CLASSIFICATIONS The following classes will be provided for both dogs and bitches. Puppy, 6 Mos & Under 9 Mos Puppy, 9 Mos & Under 12 Mos Junior, 12 Mos & Under 15 Mos Junior, 15 Mos & Over AKC Sanctioned Best 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy Competition Regional & National One combined class will be offered for American Staffordshire Terriers that are (4) four months & under (6) six months. There will be a selection of Best 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy An AKC registration number or AKC litter number will be required for entries in this competition. A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin. Dogs are required to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian's protocol in order to avoid inadvertent transmission of illness by/to puppies not yet fully immunized. Professional handlers are not permitted to exhibit in this class. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers' organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay. Dogs may not be exhibited by current assistants and household members of a professional handler. AKC Rules in Dealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered at this competition. All applicable rules found in Rules Applying to Dog Shows will govern the conduct of this competition unless these regulations state otherwise. Exhibitors should plan on opening the mouth of their puppy for the judges. Breed standard disqualifications such as color, height, weight or dentition shall not be a point of consideration in the judging process for this Best 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy in Show Competition. CLASSIFICATION Classes Combined Puppy, 4 & Under 6 Months NO PUPPIES UNDER THE AGE OF SIX (6) MONTHS EXCEPT THOSE PARTICIPATING IN THE 4 & UNDER 6 MONTHS PUPPY COMPETITION MAY BE ON THE GROUNDS Entries must be in by the closing date at the Superintendent s office. 12 Obedience & Rally Trials Entries in Obedience & Rally Classes Requiring Jumps Must Include Dogs' Jump Height Jump Height Order Small to Tall for Each Trial Qualifying Score required for all prizes in all classes. A Dark Green Qualifying Ribbon will be given to each dog a aining a Qualifying Score. Transfers will be allowed at this trial per AKC Regula ons. Refunds will be given for bitches who come into season a er the closing date less $10 administra ve fee with a veterinary cer ficate and a wri en request presented to the Event Secretary no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of the trial s judging. Non Regular Obedience & Rally Classes (Mul ple Dog Entry where offered) Obedience Brace/Obedience Team/Rally Pairs (all levels)/rally Team (all levels) The dogs comprising the entry shall be considered a unit and they must be named at time of entry. If a dog, which is to be part of the entry is not entered in a regular class the dog must be entered for Class Only. In making entries for Class Only, full particulars must be given for each dog on individual regular entry forms. An entry form for a dog entered in another class and entered as a part of a multiple entry class, MUST be marked accordingly in the space provided for ADDITIONAL CLASSES Class. If more than one Multiple Entry class is entered by the same owners, the dogs comprising EACH Multiple Entry Class must be designated, Class No. 1, Class No. 2, etc. Please submit Multiple Dog class entries together. A copy of the championship cer ficate must be provided for verifica on of the tle at the me of entry. The STCA s Moonlight World Challenge is not held under the auspices of the AKC. The World Challenge is open to AKC, CKC, and FCI Champions of Record. Dogs entered in this compe on must be eligible to compete in AKC/CKC/FCI shows, and must not be spayed or neutered. Judging shall be based on overall soundness, quality of movement, and type as defined in the breed standard. Ideally judges chosen for Tournament shall be a breeder, a professional handler, and a licensed or provisional judge. Entry fee shall be $ Procedure 1. All dogs (males first) enter the ring in numerical order and are checked in. 2. The first three dogs are kept in the ring for judging and the remaining dogs will be released to a holding area. 3. The judges will be in three corners of the ring for the hands on examina on. The dogs will move counter clockwise un l all three judges have examined all three dogs. Judging shall be limited to approximately three minutes per dog. Score the sheet a er each individual exam. 4. When the last dog of the set has been examined, judges will assemble in one corner of the ring and the dogs will be moved individually on a diagonal down and back then around to the end. Finally as a group they will be moved once around the ring and then exit. 5. Final scoring of the group is completed and score sheets are handed in and the second group of three dogs enters the ring. This con nues un l all male entries have been examined. 6. All females enter the ring and repeat steps 2 through 5. 16

17 7. Once every dog has been examined, there will be a short break while the scores are tallied. The top 8 highest scoring dogs (of either sex) will be called back to the ring for further judging. If there is a e for the 8th placement, addi onal dogs will be called back in. 8. Judges are handed new score sheets and may re evaluate the top scoring dogs. Judges may re examine each dog in brief, if necessary. Once the final examina on is complete, each dog is moved individually, down and back and around to the exit. 9. The score sheets are turned in for final tabula on. The second score of each from the top 8 will be averaged with the first score. Any resul ng ed scores will stand as is for placements. 10. Cleanup of the grooming areas will be the owner s responsibility and will be policed daily. Dogs may NOT be le overnight in the grooming areas. Neither the show giving Club nor the host site will be responsible for the safety or wellbeing of dogs or other property le at the site. Exhibitors will be responsible for maintaining clean condi ons around their grooming area. Exhibitors should bring their own cleaning supplies. A er loading and unloading, vehicles must be moved to the parking area. No parking is allowed immediately adjoining the loading and unloading area. Trash receptacles and clean up sta ons have been placed throughout the grounds to make it easy for you to clean up a er yourselves and your dogs. Please make the effort to pick up and properly dispose of all cans, cups, bo les, tu s of hair and any other trash you may have. ACCESS A Security Guard will be present at the gate to allow access to the facility from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. From 8 p.m. to midnight, gates are closed, but access to and from the facility is still possible. The exit gate automatically opens to allow guests to leave. A security Guard will be at the gate each hour, on the hour, during this time to allow overnight guests back onto the premises. Between the hours of midnight and 7 a.m., the gates are closed. The exit gate will automatically open to allow visitors to leave in case of emergency. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship. 3. (Event Class) Consult the classification in this premium list. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e, age division, color division, weight division. 4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for an event closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any event for which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his name.
