Section The schedule to be employed in the determination of the number of points to be allocated a dog awarded WINNERS shall be as follows: Dogs competing* to 5 6 to 9 10 to or more Points allocated *includes the dog awarded Winners. In counting the number of eligible dogs in competition, a dog that is disqualified, dismissed, excused or ordered from the ring by the judge SHALL be included in the calculation for championship points. To determine the number of championship points earned by a dog awarded Winners, total all the dogs in competition which the dog defeated, directly or indirectly, for the highest of the following official breed awards: Winners, Best of Winners, Best of Breed, or Best of Opposite Sex and then consult the schedule set forth above. Section In order for a dog to be recognized as a Champion and its owner provided with a Championship Certificate, the dog must have earned at least one 2 point win either at the breed or group level. Chapter 8, Section 8.9 of the Conformation Show Rules and Regulations has been amended to allow a dog which is individually registered in the records of the Canadian Kennel Club, and has completed the requirements for a Championship, after the Closing Date for entries for a show, may be transferred from one of the Regular Classes to Specials Only, providing the request for a transfer is submitted to the Show Secretary in WRITING at least one hour prior to the opening of the show, by the owner or handler. Every day of a 2 or 3 day show is a separate show. Please note that this rule is effective up to one hour prior to the opening of the show, NOT one hour prior to the judging of the breed. CONFORMATION SHOW RULES AND REGULATIONS EVENT REGISTRATION NUMBER (ERN) The Exhibitor is responsible for knowing and complying with the Conformation Show Rules and Regulations of the Canadian Kennel Club. Chapter 4 - Section of the Conformation Show Rules and Regulations states: A judge officiating at a show held under these rules shall not be subjected to indignities of any kind during the progress of the show. It shall be the duty and obligation of the club holding the show to see that this rule is effectively carried out. Effective Jan. 1/92, all dogs that are foreign born and foreign owned and enter Canada for the sole purpose of entering CKC events will no longer require a CKC registration number but will require an Event Registration Number (ERN). The ERN number MUST be applied for within 30 days of the first day of entering a CKC event. Fee is $58.50 per dog after January 1, 2012 plus applicable taxes. The fee will be $58.50 plus applicable taxes. b) The non-member participation fee is paid in any year a title is earned and covers all titles and dogs owned by that individual. c) In order for the title to be awarded, the non-member will have a choice to either become a CKC member or pay the non-member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will result in the title being withheld and the dog cannot be moved up to the next level. d) The fee applies only to dogs wholly owned by non-member residents of Canada and is not applicable to CKC members.

5 CONFORMATION CLASSES BOTH SEXES OFFICIAL CLASSES: JUNIOR PUPPY - a dog between 6 mos. & under 9 mos. on day of show. SENIOR PUPPY - a dog between 9 mos. & under 12 mos. on day of show MONTHS - a dog between 12 mos. & under 18 mos. on day of show. CANADIAN BRED - a dog which is born in Canada. BRED BY EXHIBITOR - dogs owned and handled in the ring by the breeder. The handler must be the owner/co-owner AND breeder/co-breeder of the dog. The owner/breeder must handle the dog in this class, but need not handle the dog for further awards. OPEN CLASS - for all dogs. VETERANS - for all dogs over seven years of age as of the date of the show. These dogs to compete for the regular placements and the 1st place Dog and Bitch will go on to compete for Best of Breed. The winner of the Veterans Class will not compete for points but go directly into the Best of Breed competition. Dogs entered in this class may be spayed or neutered. SPECIALS ONLY - dogs who are Canadian Champions only. AWARD OF MERIT - at the judge s discretion, Awards of Merit may be awarded up to one Award for every ten dogs competing for Best of Breed, which will be presented following Best of Breed. SEXUALLY ALTERED - limited to dogs over 6 months of age which have been sexually altered by veterinary procedure. NON-REGULAR CLASSES: EXHIBITION ONLY all dogs entered in this class shall be listed in the catalogue with the same particulars as dogs entered in regular competition. Dogs entered in this class may not compete in any Regular class but may enter and compete in Non Regular classes and/or Parades. PARADE OF CHAMPIONS dogs must have completed all requirements for Championship status. Spayed and neutered dogs may be entered. 6 RULES FOR ENTRY - BRONZE and OPEN TROPHY SHOW COMPETITION 1. All entries to the Bronze Trophy Show must be a champion of any country. 2. Previous winners of the Bronze are not eligible to compete. 3. The Open Trophy Show is for all Non Champions. 4. The Winner of the current Open Trophy Show may continue and compete in the current Bronze Trophy Show. 5. The Bronze Trophy Show Reserve winner, BOS and BOV from the previous year are eligible for entry in the current year. 6. A fee of $50.00 must accompany this application. If a dog is not qualified for the Bronze Trophy Show under the above rules, an application to enter the Bronze Trophy Show can be made through an Application for Exception procedure to the show committee. Application for Exception must be accompanied by two photographs (front & side) and be submitted to the show committee at the address listed below. Such applications must be accompanied by an exception fee of $50.00 and be received ten working days before the date on which entries close. Without discussion or consultation, each judge shall evaluate and decide upon his/her selections in the sequence described and as requested by the ring steward. The Overall Sequence of Selections: 1st Selection Movement Trophy 2nd Selection Finalists 3rd Selection Bronze Trophy Winner, Reserve and Best of Opposite Variety 4th Selection Selection of the Best of Opposite Sex. These awards will be announced and presented after all the selections have been completed. Detailed Sequence of Selections 1. Movement Trophy Selection Procedure: Each judge will make his/ her choice for the Best Mover. If both choose the same dog, this shall be the best mover. If the judges choose different dogs, the referee will be requested to choose between the dogs for the Movement Winner. 2. Finalists Selection Procedure: The number of finalists each judge may select is based on the total entry of dogs or bitches. Each judge may select a minimum of two & as many as three finalists, if the dog or bitch entry is eight or less. If the dog or bitch entry is twelve or more the judge may select up to four finalists. JUDGING PROCEDURE (cont d) JUDGING PROCEDURE - DON CHERRY TROPHY COMPETITION CATALOGUE ADVERTISING 3. Bronze Trophy Winner, Reserve to Bronze Trophy Winner and Best of Opposite Variety Selection Procedure: Each judge shall select from the finalists a dog as Winner, another dog as Reserve and another dog as Best of Opposite Variety. 3a) If both judges choose the same dog as Winner, the same dog as Reserve and the same dog as Best of Opposite Variety, then this SHALL CONSTITUTE THE FINAL PLACINGS. 3b) If the judges choose different dogs as Winner, the referee shall be requested to choose between both dogs selected and declare the Bronze Trophy Winner and i) the other dog automatically becomes Reserve ii) if the other dog is of the opposite variety, this dog automatically becomes the Best of Opposite Variety. 3c) If both judges choose the same dog as Winner but different dogs as Reserve, the dog chosen Winner shall be the Bronze Trophy Winner and the referee will be requested to choose between the dogs selected as Reserve. If the referee s choice for Reserve is of the opposite in variety to the Bronze Trophy Reserve, then this dog will automatically be Best of Opposite Variety. 3d) If through the above 3a, 3b and 3c the Best of Opposite Variety has not been won, and if both judges choose the same dog for Best of Opposite Variety, then this dog will be declared Best of Opposite Variety. 3e) If through the above 3a, 3b, 3c and 3d, the Best of Opposite Variety has not been won, and the judges choose different dogs for Best of Opposite Variety, then the referee will be requested to choose between the two dogs and declare a Best of Opposite Variety. 4) Best of Opposite Sex Selection Procedure 4a) If the Bronze Trophy Winner and Reserve are of opposite sex, the Reserve will automatically become the Best of Opposite Sex. 4b) If the Bronze Trophy Winner and Reserve are of the same sex, then each judge shall be asked to name their choice for Best of Opposite Sex to the Bronze Trophy Winner. 4c) If both judges choose the same dog, then this dog will be declared Best of Opposite Sex. 4d) If both judges choose a different dog, then the referee shall be requested to choose between the two dogs and declare the Best of Opposite Sex to the Bronze Trophy Winner. Note - The Best of Breed Winner from the current Open Trophy Show automatically advances to the Bronze Trophy Show. All entrants will enter the ring individually in catalogue order at the invitation of the ring steward. Males & Females will be judged separately. Males first.
