3 This is my monster. It's beautiful. Her name is Diamond Queen. It's blue. She's got a big tail and four blue legs. There are twenty-five diamond spikes. She's got small eyes and a small nose. My cat does not walk or jump, but runs fast. Black cats are funny and friendly and are not dangerous. They play all day. Nice and beautiful is this cat. His name is Charlie. 6 An interview with our future headmaster, Mister Ferjančič How old are you? I will be 41 in autumn. Do you have any children? I have two sons and one daughter. My oldest son is ten and my youngest is four. My daughter is eight. What do you like to do in your free time? I like to spend my free time in the garden. Do you like animals? Yes, I do. We are currently planning to buy a dog. What is your favourite food? I like all sorts of vegetables. Which subjects do you like best? Why? PE (physical education) has always been a part of my life, ever since I was a little boy, up to the Faculty of Sports, followed by 11 years of being a PE teacher. It is safe to say that PE is my favourite subject. Do you have many embarrassing moments? Can you share one with us? In the past, I had problems with public speaking. That is why I chose to apply for a school for public speaking and I overcame that obstacle. Once, while I was working at a secondary school, they asked me to dress up as Saint Nicholas. I was so nervous that I was unable to read what they had written for me to say. How did you feel when you found out that you are to become a headmaster? I felt and I still feel a great sense of responsibility. Do you have any doubts about being a headmaster? No. What do you want to change at our school? Our school is a very good school. Class 6.C

28 My dream town Nekaj utrinkov iz projekta My dream town (moje sanjsko mesto), ki so ga oblikovali učenci v tretjem razredu. Najbolj mi je bilo všeč, da smo sodelovali. 37 DEAR PENFRIEND Učenci petih razredov, oddelek 6.B in 6.C so si v šolskem letu 2017/2018 letu dopisovali z učenci iz OŠ Draga Bajca Vipava. Ob koncu šolskega leta so petošolci iz Vipave učencem naše šole na prav poseben način zaželeli lepe počitnice.

39 OBISK IZ KALIFORNIJE Pred jesenskimi počitnicami nas je obiskala Lea iz Kalifornije. Pripovedovala nam je o življenju v ZDA, opravljanje šolskih obveznosti preko računalnika in o razlikah med Slovenijo in ZDA. Ste vedeli, da obstaja moka iz mandljev? Kalifornija je ena od držav, ki izdela največ mandljeve moke. Lea rada iz njih peče slaščico imenovano»macarons«. Njenega obiska smo se zelo razveselili, se veliko naučili in spoznali, da je veliko prednosti tega, da šole ni potrebno opravljati preko računalnika, saj smo lahko vsak dan s sošolci in učitelji, ki nam lahko pomagajo in nas usmerjajo. Upamo, da bomo z Leo ohranili stike in se še kdaj srečali. Učenci 6. C

40 A VISIT FROM THE U.S. EMBASSY LJUBLJANA»Naš zadnji obisk v tem šolskem letu nas je popeljal na OŠ Frana Erjavca v Novi Gorici, kjer so učenci g. David Gallagherju in Sgt. Eddie Montanu pripravili kviz o poznavanju Slovenije. Kakšno oceno so jima dali, ne vemo! Vodja regionalnega oddelka za diplomatsko varnost g. Gallagher je po kratki predstavitvi Veleposlaništva ZDA z učenci razpravljal o razlikah med ZDA in Slovenijo, raznolikosti ZDA in o tem, kako se Američani razlikujejo od osebnosti iz sveta zabavne industrije. Marinec Sgt. Montano se je najprej predstavil, potem pa sta skupaj z g. Gallagherjem odgovarjala na vprašanja učencev.«vir: U.S. Embassy Ljubljana, facebook V torek, , smo dobili obisk iz ameriškega veleposlaništva v Ljubljani. V našo avlo sta prišla marinec Sgt. Eddie Montano in David Gallagher. Najprej sta jim učenki Erika Šavli in Jana Mervič iz 8.B razreda zastavili nekaj vprašanj o Sloveniji, nato pa sta onadva prevzela mikrofon in opisala svoje delo. Bila sta zelo odprta na vprašanja in si izmislila igrico, da bi nam lažje predstavila poklic veleposlanika. Na žalost je srečanje potekalo le eno šolsko uro, vendar smo se tisto uro vsi veliko naučili. Jure Ipavec, 8.B
