APPEAL FOR HELP TODAY All help today will be welcome, whether in kitchen, helping with trophies, taking money at door, helping Deb & Liz on the Raffle Table, stewarding, clerking, filling in certificates, Running judging slips from Judging team to GC Rep, or any other of the essential but often unnoticed jobs, then packing up at the end of the day. Being really involved can add to your enjoyment, as well as making our lives easier, so please volunteer. Help with setting up and pulling down at any cat show is very welcome, so PLEASE help whenever you can. If you are not sure about something, please ask Tiff, Nell or a TCC Committee member, or if you need physical help, ask us who is available.. Tandanya wants you to have a good day. TANDANYA CAT CLUB INC. Tandanya, formed in July 1976, is an "all breeds" cat club. Membership is open to all cat owners and people interested in cats. We cater for lovers of all breeds of pedigreed cats and unpedigreed or domestic cats. Tandanya s Club Membership fees are very affordable. Special reduced fees apply to Families and Junior (under 16) members, and all adult financial Club Members enjoy the same rights and privileges. New members are always welcome. Meetings held every 6-8 weeks, in January, March, May, July, September and November. At present, Meetings are held in Secretary s home at Glanville. Committee Meetings may be held in "in-between" months. A copy of the minutes is given to every member present at the following General Meeting. Except when extreme urgency arises, all business of the Club is handled at TCC Committee and/or General Meetings. Members are encouraged to take an active interest in all Club affairs. A Newsletter published bi-monthly (if practical - in recession at present owing to lack of time) and distributed at meetings or shows unless member pays extra for "postage option". Club Membership is effective for 12 months from date of joining. Fees include Newsletters (if produced), but not postage. Parking spaces for handicapped must only be used if the required permit is visible in the car. We also need to be careful to avoid blocking driveways and emergency exits - we MUST allow access. 6 -4- Breed Awards: We have Breed Awards in each breed section today (seen in catalogue classes) and we have avoided combining breeds even if virtually the same breed except for coat length. Sometimes this may leave only one exhibit in a section, but this does not guarantee a win as judges can withhold any award if they do not consider an exhibit to be worthy of it. Bests of Breed in Ring 1 may receive a ribbon or a rosette today, and other breed results (Reserve, Third Best, etc) will be written onto prize cards and that is all, apart from any end of year points earned, which can be very valuable to top cats. Prizes will be awarded for Special Awards numbered Rosettes for Group winners in one Ring (where possible). Rosettes for Judges Fancies (donated by Trixie), and prizes for Miscellaneous Awards. Small Side Class awards will be placed on cages. The Group Special Awards The Group Specials Prize Awards are now printed at the beginning of each group. This is something Tandanya usually does if we do not have a major food sponsor, and we are doing it at this third very special show. We are disappointed that Beyond Blue no longer have their bags available for us to use to support them and including their leaflets. We were very glad to receive their donation of bags, and be able to promote their interests. Black Cat Green Hosting has donated vouchers for winners of Best of Group in both Rings. Breeders Choice Litter has been donated for prizes in Ring 1 and their generosity, which is very much appreciated, will ensure that all Group Award winners in Ring One are presented with prizes. Group winners (cat, neuter and kitten) in Ring Two will receive ribbons. We ve also had some overseas and interstate rosettes donated again, some of which we have had remodelled, and some prizes. Tandanya sincerely appreciates the generous donations from exhibitors and everyone who has donated in memory of John, and cash donations have been put towards our ribbons rosettes, so the Club does not have to bear the whole cost out of its savings.. 8 -6- Don t forget that GCCFSA Show calendar, with contacts and information about shows, is available on the GCCFSA web site, at GCCFSA has standardised entry forms and summary sheets and exhibitors can download and print them, or open them and fill in on line (and you can save them to use again and again. There s also a check sheet so you can check you have filled everything in correctly. We have had some interesting documents for this show, and have had conflicting information, missed information, and print so tiny that I have had to buy a new magnifying glass. There are a few forms in the hall today and anyone who has a computer but no printer can take one or two to photocopy, then you can read the information on line and fill in your entry by hand. EST 1957 NEXT SHOW MAY 5 TH 2019 AT PAYNEHAM YOUTH CENTRE, TURNER RD, FELIXSTOW JUDGING PANEL WILL INCLUDE MARYLOU ANDERSON FROM USA I started in cats at the age of 5 with an apple-head Siamese who lived to be 19. Once through schooling and settled on my own, I purchased 2 more Siamese. When I married, since my husband grew up in Ethiopia, a child of medical missionaries, he suggested adding the Abyssinian to our lives due to the romantic history associated between country and cat. It was love immediately. We had pet Abys at first and then I found my first breeding female in 1986 which led to many wonderful experiences breeding and showing in The International Cat Association (TICA). A senior AB judge who was my breeding partner and mentor, encouraged me to move toward judge training and I became licensed as a Specialty judge in 2001, advancing to All Breed in In 2009 I was appointed Judging Administrator for TICA. Currently I have 2 Abys and a Siamese I inherited from my father. I love the cat fancy for its camaraderie and sharing of cat-related ideas and knowledge, all for the benefit of our beloved felines and their health. Outside of the cat fancy, my main hobbies include quilting and golfing.
