A TRAGIC BEGINNING! This is a case study of a horse that has been treated with our green Illite clay and essential oils. This is the story of Bastille, a 12 day old colt. Bastille was born on July 14 th 2009 ( French Independance day..) Twelve days into his life, he was brutally attacked by 2 dogs. Although his mother was by his side, she was unable to protect him. Bastille was immediately rushed to the local Veterinarian office, where wounds were assessed, and suggestions were made. Veterinarian s diagnosis : Multiple severe wounds, significant infection, Punctured tendon Veterinarian s recommendations : Due to the severity of injuries, too much infection and a punctured tendon, owners were told : I do not think the baby will make it. Therefore, owners were left with a crucial decision to make. Their decision was to attempt to treat and save Bastille. These pictures were taken the day Bastille arrived to me, after one week at the vet s. Veterinarian s treatments : Antibiotics, wound cleaning and some sutures (where applicable)
page 2 After one week at the hospital, Bastille s owners became aware of an alternative form of treatment.. Our clay. I received a phone call and immediately offered my help at no cost. Bastille and his mother arrived on August 1st, 2009. I was overwhelmed by the severity of his injuries. With the exception of his face, I discovered wounds all over his tiny body ( chest, belly, both shoulders, all four legs, butt cheeks, stomach). He was very weak, infection was severe and looking into his eyes would have brought anyone to tears. Antibiotics were discontinued upon arrival and clay treatments began. Now, let me tell you that it took him about 3 days to trust and to understand that this way of treatment involved no pain whatsoever. Clay water was offered, and once again, it quickly became the horse s first choice. Bastille quickly understood the nature of our relationship.. I was here to help! These pictures taken after 2 days of clay treaments. Bastille was now out of danger and we both knew it. We, as horse lovers, often wonder what horses would say if they could talk.. It was amazing after spending so much time together, how clear and loud, his words came to me. He became trusting and definitely more curious by the day. He wanted to know, he wanted to see.. He wanted to understand what that green stuff was and why it was so good to him. So, that s what we did... DON T KID YOURSELF! IT TAKES THE TIME IT TAKES... (4 to 5 hours /day were spent with Bastille) AND PATIENCE AND COMPASSION ARE AS IMPORTANT AS THE CLAY ITSELF.
