"Every Man A King" is a portrait of a city. "Every Man A King" is a permanent public outdoor monument. "Every Man A King" is a bronze statue of a person selected at random from the city of Houston.

EVERY MAN A KING CONCEPT Every Man A King is a portrait of the city of Houston embodied in the likeness of one person. "Every Man A King" is a proposal for a permanent public outdoor monument that takes the form of a statue that depicts a person who is selected at random from the entire city of Houston. In the tradition of great civic monuments, "Every Man A King" is a bronze figure mounted on a pedestal and placed in a prominent public location in the city of Houston. Every Man A King mimics the heroic statues of leaders that adorn many civic squares and public spaces. Like those monuments, this work will become a fixture of the city and community in which it is erected. The distinction of this statue is that the person depicted will be selected at random from the City of Houston. They could be anyone, of any age, any gender, or any ethnicity. It is this unusual aspect that distinguishes Every Man A King from other heroic statues of this type. The "unknown person" represented in the statue of Every Man A King literally and figuratively represents all the people of Houston. "Every Man A King" recognizes the "everyman" the unheralded, the average working person, the people who go unrecognized yet make up the fabric of our community. "Every Man A King" is designed to endure and be enjoyed by everyone for decades to come.

"Every Man A King" is a bronze statue of a person selected at random from Houston. The person could be anyone - of any age, sex, or ethnicity. "Every Man A King" is a portrait of an entire city embodied in the likeness of a single person.

EVERY MAN A KING SELECTION The selection process for "Every Man A King" is the most important component of the project because it illustrates the philosophy of the piece. The person depicted in "Every Man A King" will be selected at random from existing data banks from the population of Houston (voting records, tax records, etc.). This person could be anyone, of any age, any sex, or any ethnicity. This will be the person who will be depicted in "Every Man A King" and will stand for the entire city of Houston. The project will be publicized before the selection takes place so as to build excitement and anticipation for who will "win". Once identified and selected, this person will be invited to represent the city of Houston in this monument.

"Every Man A King" is a portrait of a city. "Every Man A King" is a traditional bronze statue of the selected person. The statue of "Every Man A King" will be an accurate likeness of the selected person.

EVERY MAN A KING STATUE "Every Man A King" will be a traditionally cast bronze figurative statue that will rest upon a stone pedestal. The selected person will be accurately rendered using the latest and most sophisticated 3D computer scanning technology. This will guarantee the most realistic depiction of the person. The statue will be expertly cast in bronze by the best artisans. The look of the statue, including the scale, the pose, the clothes and expression, will be decided upon in consultation with The Art Guys to reach the most desirable look. This accurate depiction echoes the enlightenment ideal that a statue can personify history and social philosophy in the image of an individual. Rather than a commemoration of a remarkable person, "Every Man A King" depicts and recognizes a regular person.

The statue will rest on top of a stone pedestal. Bronze plaques will tell the story of Every Man A King. "Every Man A King" will contain a time capsule with artifacts.

EVERY MAN A KING PEDESTAL!!! The pedestal for "Every Man A King" will be a four-sided stone design with bronze plaques that contain information about the project. PLAQUES! Four bronze plaques will be mounted on the pedestal, one for each face. They will contain the following information: a brief history of the person depicted in the statue including personal facts, family history, age, occupation, and a statement from that person. a copy of Huey P. Long's composition "Every Man A King" from which the project derives its name. explanation of the project, with history, background, and a statement by The Art Guys. a dedication plaque with information about the sponsor TIME CAPSULE A time capsule will be installed in the base of the monument that will contain historical documents, personal history and artifacts, and other relevant materials. This time capsule will be ceremoniously opened 100 years from the completion of the project and will serve as a historical snapshot of Houston in the early 21st century.

"Every Man A King" will reach millions of people. The sponsor will receive national media coverage. "Every Man A King" will be marketed and publicized from beginning to end. The sponsor will enjoy brand enhancement beyond traditional marketing.

EVERY MAN A KING MARKETING Every Man A King will reach millions of people. Every Man A King will be marketed and publicized from beginning to end over the course of the year-long project. An online presence through social media will stimulate interest by presenting the stories, process, people and organizations involved. Anticipation and excitement will build over who will be selected. The project affords the sponsor substantial long-term publicity via national media coverage, organized events, and engagement activities as the process of selection unfolds and excitement builds in anticipation of the unveiling of the Every Man A King statue. Every Man A King will enhance the brand of the sponsor beyond traditional marketing by aligning the sponsor with the prestige of a significant art work. Marketing and promotion for Every Man A King will include: DOCUMENTARY Complete 30 minute video documentary of the entire project will be made. WEBSITE Dedicated website with information, press and videos and links to the sponsor. Regular updates will be sent throughout the course of the project. SOCIAL MEDIA Facebook, Twitter, Instagram with links to and information about the sponsor. Regular updates will be sent throughout the course of the project.
