Keeping Your Mind in Tip-Top Shape Not Just Your Car! May 2018 Thank you for being our customer May Events May 5: Kentucky Derby Day May5: Cinco De Mayo May 13: Mother s Day May 14: Dance Like a Chicken Day May 27: Indianapolis 500 May 28: Memorial Day The Funny Bone A guy drives by a shanty-style house that had a sign: Talking Dog For Sale. He stops and goes into the backyard where he sees a nice looking Labrador retriever sitting there. "So, what's your story?" he asks the dog. The Lab looks up and says, "Well, I discovered that I could talk when I was pretty young. I told the CIA who quickly had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one figured a dog would be eavesdropping." "I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years running. But the jetting around really tired me out so I decided to settle down. I worked undercover at the airport: Wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded a batch of medals. I got married, had a mess of puppies, and now I'm just retired." The guy is amazed. He goes in the house and asks the owner what he wants for the dog. "Ten dollars," the guy says. "Ten dollars? This dog is amazing! Why on Earth are you selling him so cheap?" "Because he's a liar. He's never been out of the yard." Is an A/C Recharge a Normal Annual Maintenance Item? The answer is a resounding NO! As you know, we encourage our clients to keep up with their regular maintenance schedules that are recommended by the manufacturer in your Owner s Manual. So it s important for you to know that an A/C recharge is NOT a regular maintenance item. Your car s A/C system is a closed system. If your air conditioner needs recharging it is because the refrigerant chemical is leaking out of the system. Many people think that air conditioners naturally leak refrigerant, so they assume they have to take the car in every year for recharging. This is not true. The refrigerant is not supposed to leak. If the refrigerant is low, we should find and repair the leak. It ll SAVE you money and hassle in the long run! Article compiled from CNN.com We KNEW Duct Tape Could Do Anything! Discovering a nasty wart on your skin is no fun, but you don't have to travel to the doctor's office to get rid of it. Three dermatologists confirmed that duct tape is an effective method for curing warts -- but don't worry, it's not used to rip them violently off your skin. Instead, just place a piece of tape over your wart and follow a simple routine, says Dr. Barbara Reed, a clinical professor of dermatology at the University of Colorado Hospital. According to Reed, you should leave the tape on for six days, then remove it for about 12 hours. During the time the tape is off, soak the wart and gently scrub it with a pumice stone, emery board or metal file. After 12 hours, reapply duct tape and repeat the entire process until the wart goes away. "For some reason, the duct tape just irritates the heck out of it and the wart doesn't like that and your immune system gets fired up, so it really does work," explains Dr. Jeff Benabio, a dermatologist for Kaiser Permanente in San Diego. Depending on the size and location of the wart, the duct tape method typically takes anywhere from two to six weeks before it disappears, Benabio adds. Have a Question About Your Car? The Animal Kingdom Has Its Own Great Moms A female oyster over her lifetime may produce over 100 million young. Hopefully, they don t live at home. A mother giraffe often gives birth while standing, so the newborn's first experience outside the womb is a 6-foot drop! Just like people, mother chimpanzees often develop lifelong relationships with their offspring. Kittens are born both blind and deaf, but the vibration of their mother's purring is a physical signal that the kittens can feel - it acts like a homing device, signaling them to nurse. I asked mom if I was a gifted child. She said they certainly wouldn t have paid for me. ~ Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes (Bill Watterson) Are You Ready to Chicken Dance??? The "Chicken Dance" song is accompanied by a dance requiring a group of people, and it goes as follows: At the start of the music, shape a chicken beak with your hands. Open and close them four times, during the first four beats of the music. Make chicken wings with your arms. Flap your wings four times, during the next four beats of the music. Make a chicken's tail feathers with your arms and hands. Wiggle downwards during the next four beats of the music. Clap four times during the next four beats of the music while rising to your toes. Repeat this process four times. At the bridge, hold your arms straight, in imitation of an airplane. All dancers spin around the room in "flight" until the bridge ends. (Alternately: At the bridge, link arms with the nearest person, turn right eight steps, switch arms and turn left eight steps, then repeat until the bridge ends) (Alternatively: Assume close position with partner and polka until bridge ends.) The dance repeats, progressively getting faster and faster, until the music stops. Do You Want To Win Our GRAND PRIZE? Take the trivia challenge and you just might win!
