Entry Fees: Single Entries - $35.00/entry. GST payable on all fees. Show Only Fees - $40.00/head fee on Purebred animals that are entered for show only. Junior Show entries are exempt from the Show Only fee. The show only fee will be administered by the SSBA and will be collected immediately following the completion of culling. 3. As of January 1, 2004, all sheep and lambs must bear an approved CSIP ear tag before they leave the 4. Substitution Fees: $20.00/animal, plus GST. All substitutions must be made by 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 24 at the CWA Show & Sale Office. 5. All sheep must be purebred and registered with CSBA or their official Canadian breed registry and must be properly tattooed or have appropriate ID tags in ears that match registration papers. ALL sheep MUST HAVE legible and completely healed tattoos, where applicable. Any animal with fresh tattoo ink will be disqualified. 6. Sheep will be mouthed to be eligible to show as follows: a. Lambs: First pair of temporary incisors must still be in place. b. Yearlings: Third pair of temporary incisors must still be in place. 7. All sheep will be inspected by a culling committee at approximately 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 24. Exhibitor or representative must be present at inspection by the culling committee, and original certificate of registration papers must be available to the culling committee at this time. All animals born in 2015 and later will be presented according to the National Farm Animal Care Council Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Sheep. All animals showing signs of unhealthiness will be removed from the show and sale, and must be removed from the barn. Refer to health regulations in general rules.
8. Fleece or Hair Requirements: It is recommended that all animals be show clipped and clean. Absolutely no manure tags. 9. In order to have a Breed Show, there must be a minimum of three exhibitors and 10 animals in each section. Management reserves the right to combine sections if there are insufficient entries in an All Other Breeds classification. 10. Sheep can arrive after 8:00 AM, Thursday, November 24, and must be in barns by 12:00 PM, Thursday, November 24. Consult with Barn Boss for early arrivals. 11. Following the sale on Friday, November 25, any animal sold in the SSBA Sheep Sale becomes the property of the new owner and is released at 6:00 PM on sale day. Arrangements can be made with exhibitor to allow all sale animals to remain in their stalls until the Barn Boss releases the animals on Saturday, November 26, or when the Barn Boss releases them. Exhibitors not released until Saturday, November 26 at 6:00 PM (as per CWA General Rules). Release may be restricted during tie-out times. 12. Exhibitors are required to wear designated SSBA apparel (more information to be provided after registration. 13. First pair of temporary incisors must still be in place. Both sexes represented. These must be lambs. Animals must have been exhibited in previous classes. No entry fee, but entry must be made. 15. Breeder s Flock: A group of four animals bred and owned by the exhibitor. Both sexes represented. Each animal in the group must have been exhibited in one of the preceding classes. All animals in a group to be of one breed. No entry fee, but entry must be made. 16. Premier Breeder: Sheep must be exhibited at the show by the breeder to be eligible for Premier Breeder points. Based on Canadian Rules, points will be calculated as follows: 1 st Place 7 points; 2 nd Place 6 points; 3 rd Place 5 points; 4 th Place 4 points; 5 th Place 3 points; 6 th Place 2 points; 7 th Place 1 point. 17. Rookie of the Year: No entry has to be made, but must be a first time exhibitor. Points are to be awarded the same as the Premier Breeder scoring system. Exhibitor must be current owner and breeder of animals shown.
INTERPROVINCIAL CHAMPION: Groups of four head from the purebred classes. Both sexes represented. Two groups from each province to qualify (groups to be selected by the breeders participating). Each group shall be of one breed. SUPREME CHAMPION EWE, RAM, AND BREEDER S FLOCK: Banner presented by Canadian Sheep Breeder s Association. Open to breeds recognized by Canadian Western Agribition. JUNIOR SHOW SECTION 300J SHOW: 9:30 AM, Saturday, November 26 1. No CWA entry fee, but entry must be made by October 1 with regular sheep show entries. 2. Junior fees are exempt from the SSBA Show Only fee. 3. Open to boys and girls 18 years old and younger. 4. Ewes of any breed or breed cross eligible to compete. 5. Showmanship: No entry fee, but entry must be made at Saskatchewan Sheep Breeders Association booth prior to 3:00 PM, Friday, November 25. Entrants need not own the animal. Entries may be divided by weight into splits. Top 4 placings in each split will move to champion class. 10. Entries in Section 300M cannot be entered in other sections. No cross entries of same animal. 11. All entries will be consigned to the sale. Commission for lambs consigned will be 10% (3% to CWA and 7% to SSBA). 12. Online auction will be managed by Livestock Media Plus. 3. All rams entered in the sale must be shown. All rams must be CLRC registered to be eligible to sell in the sale. 4. Ewes need not be shown to be sold, but if not shown, they must pass inspection by a culling committee. However, ewes in Sections 300P must be shown and sold at the sheep sale. 5. Sale Entry Fees: A fee of $35.00/head must be sent to Canadian Western Agribition for all SALE ONLY sheep (refer to sale rule #4). GST payable on all fees. 6. Export Certification: Unless otherwise stated, all animals are not export certified. Any costs associated with export certification are the responsibility of the purchases unless prior arrangements have been made between seller and purchaser. 7. Sale Commission: 7% to Saskatchewan Sheep Breeder s Association; 3% to Canadian Western Agribition. There is no maximum commission. 8. Show and Sale Entries: Must be indicated at time of registration. 9. Registration papers and signed transfers for registered sheep must be presented upon arrival at Agribition to the SSBA. If papers are not provided, animal will not sell. Closing date for entries is October 15. 10. All Saskatchewan exhibitors consigning animals to the show and sale should hold a current membership with the Saskatchewan Sheep Breeder s Association or the membership fee will be collected on Thursday, November 24. This does not apply to out of province consignors. 11. Animals that are pulled or scratched from the SSBA sale without a veterinarian certificate of disability and have already been shown will automatically be charge d a $40.00/animal penalty fee, payable to SSBA. 12. Movement of the commercial and purebred pens of 2, 3, and 5 sheep in and out of the sale ring is the sole responsibility of the owner. If pens do not arrive at the ring prior to sale time, the pen entry will be disqualified from the sale. 13. One ewe must be entered per one ram.
