Foot Rot Infectious and contagious Caused by bacteria Treatable with Coppertox or Zinc Sulfate

Scours Numerous reasons for scours, Ex: Coccidiosis, over eating, worms, etc. Can be cured with Spectam Scour Halt

Pinkeye Highly contagious Can be cured with many antibiotics either injected or placed directly onto the eye.

Prolapse Caused by genetics, short tail docks coughing and stress Is a protrusion of the rectal tissue on the outside of the body Repaired by amputating the prolapsed part of the rectum

Ringworm Contagious Spreads between humans and animals Is a fungus NOT a worm

Soremouth Most common skin disease affecting sheep Highly contagious viral infection that causes scabs around the mouth Can be passed to humans Cured with a vaccine

Urinary Calculi Metabolic disease in wethers and rams where stones form in the urinary tract Symptoms are retention of urine, abdominal pain, distention and rupture of urethra or bladder. Cause is feeding rations with high phosphorus concentrations. Can be prevented by adding ammonium chloride to the ration.

Caseous lymphadenitis (CL) Contagious bacterial infection Infection occurs through wounds caused by head butting, punctures, and shearing Must be lanced to heal
