Platinum Sponsor Gold Sponsor Silver Sponsor Cutting Edge Surgery Conference Small animal soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery Have you ever: Opened an abdomen expecting one thing only to find something else? Had that frustrating lameness case, where you couldn t decide if it was neurological or orthopaedic, or where the lameness came from? Wondered why fracture repairs looked so different at present, compared to just 10 years ago? Well, if you have, then this 4-day conference has been designed for you! The theme for Day 1 is So, I wasn t expecting that! and we will explore conditions unexpectedly encountered during exploratory laparotomy, such as liver and gall bladder pathology, gastrointestinal perforation and abdominal trauma. Day 2 will focus on airway surgery and wound management with many tips and tricks from the experts. Day 3 will comprehensively cover the approach to challenging forelimb, hindlimb and neurological causes of lameness, with many case examples and a state of the art update on a number of conditions including wobbler disease and joint replacements. Day 4, the final day, will explore the recent changes in fracture management, including a review of locking plates and mini implants and how to best use them in a clinical setting. Fractures in toy breeds and minimally invasive osteosynthesis will be discussed with several case examples to demonstrate the most recent recommendations in fracture repair. This great line up of local and international speakers will present a course designed for general practitioners who want to improve their surgical and diagnostic capabilities, with ample time for panel discussion and questions. Held on the beautiful Gold Coast and covering both soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, this is the surgical conference for 2018 and we hope to see you all there.
