PERRY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CHAIRMAN On behalf of the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce, it is my pleasure to invite you to the 30th Annual Perry Dogwood Festival. Join us as we celebrate Spring on Saturday, April 14th & Sunday, April 15th, in beautiful, historic Perry, Georgia. The Perry Dogwood Festival Arts & Crafts Show is a two day event beginning Saturday morning with the crafters, food vendors, a youth entertainment stage, Ultimate Air Dogs diving competition, and kids zone opening at 10am and closing at 6pm. After the Arts & Crafts show, we encourage you to come out to the Georgia National Fairgrounds for our Hot Air Balloon Rally. It will be a relaxing, family friendly atmosphere. Just bring blankets or lawn chairs & a picnic dinner and enjoy live entertainment, a kid s zone, wonderful food vendors, and a beautiful Hot Air Balloon Glow. The Arts & Crafts Show will re-open Sunday at 12 noon and close at 5pm. We look forward to seeing you in Perry, Georgia the weekend of April 14th & 15th! Dan Perdue, Perdue Blackberry Farms 2018 Perry Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board JIM BALLETTO Official Artist for 2018 Jim Balletto is the owner of Blue Hero Studio and Gallery in Warner Robins, Georgia where he does commission art work, and occasionally works for the Air Force Art Program through the Pentagon and random art publishing firms. Jim does cartooning for McClatchy papers which includes the Macon Telegraph and local political cartooning for Houston Home Journal. Retiring from the Museum of Aviation at Robins Air Force Base after twenty three years as the Art Director, he now devotes his time to his business and local community. He finds pleasure in serving on the Warner Robins Regional Development Agency; the Cherished Children s School Board of Governors; and being an active member of the American Society of Aviation Artists. Many of his works can be viewed at the Museum of Aviation, The Mighty-Eighth Air Force Museum in Savannah, Special Forces Training School at Fort Bragg, NC, and in the offices of our U.S. and State Senate. ARTS AND CRAFTS SHOW Presented by: Downtown Perry Carroll, Ball, and Main Streets Saturday, April 14th from 10am - 6pm Sunday, April 15th from Noon - 5pm Free Event! For 30 years, the Dogwood Festival has featured an Arts and Crafts Show in Downtown Perry. On April 14th and 15th, beautiful, historic, downtown Perry will be filled with over 100 vendors selling fantastic one-of-a-kind pieces. This FREE, family friendly event will also host kid s activities, food vendors, and an entertainment stage filled with live dance and music. Don t miss it! Refer to page 15 for directions and map. 4
ULTIMATE AIR DOGS COMPETITION Presented by: 800 Main Street directly in front of the New Perry Hotel Saturday, April 14th from 10am - 6pm Sunday, April 15th from 10am - 5pm Free Event! The Dogwood Festival has gone to the Dogs! The 30th Annual Festival is hosting an Ultimate Air Dogs Competition on Main Street April 14th and 15th. Don t miss the high flying action! Take a seat in front of the New Perry Hotel and enjoy two days of FREE family entertainment. This non-stop action competition will have everyone in Perry begging for more! HOT AIR BALLOON RALLY Presented by: Georgia National Fairgrounds West Gate Saturday, April 14th from 5pm until 9pm New for 2018! THE EAGLE IS LANDING! 100 feet tall American Bald Eagle! We are proud to display our National Emblem for all to enjoy along with 16 other beautiful balloons. Two will also lift off during the event along with the tethered rides! Bring your blankets and lawn chairs so you can spread out and bask in the glow while the kids play! $5.00 admission. Children under 6 are free! Tethered Rides Tethered balloon rides are subject to wind and weather restrictions. Tethered rides are $10. Children under 12 years of age or under 42 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under the age of 18 must have a parent present to sign the liability waiver. Quantities are limited. $10 wristband for unlimited play by Kathy s Rock in the Kid s Zone. Center Stage at the Dogwood Festival Balloon Rally Studio Masterz will be bringing you 20,000 Watts of Power with 360 degrees of sound. Their interactive show will take you through Decades of music with a variety of genres that will keep your hands waving and your toes tapping. Don t be surprised if you hear one of your favorite songs in the middle of a Flashback Dance Mix. No matter which side of the stage you are on be prepared to sing-along or dance the night away while surrounded by music, hot air balloons, food, and fun. 6
HOT AIR BALLOON FLIGHTS For the first time, we will be offering the opportunity to purchase hot air balloon flights during the Dogwood Festival! Flights will be available throughout the whole weekend- April 13th15th at $225 per person. The whole experience is 2-3 hours and includes balloon layout, inflation, flight and deflation and pack up, and return to launch field with a 45 mins to 1 hour flight time.
