West of Scotland and Scottish Cat Clubs. 2 nd December, 2017 Elizabeth Corps I was honoured to be asked to judge at these two welcoming shows, and thoroughly enjoyed my day. I was ably assisted by Helen Gordon, who volunteered to steward although from a different section, she handled the cats sympathetically and made them feel safe well done, Helen! My congratulations to the show managers, who I understood were in new territory, but managed really well. Apologies if I have got any names wrong, but the new GCCF on-line system printed out the catalogue for the first time and a good effort, but although clear was slightly small and closely packed to read easily.. Scottish Cat Club breed classes. Siamese Imperial class female. Three lovely ladies, and a pity having to leave one out! Imp Gr. Ch. to MICHIE S GR. CH. UZZA VAN SCALINDJO, SIA o, Cinnamon point, 1yr5m. A rather angry lass, but oozed class, with a longish wedge narrowing to the muzzle and a slight bump at brow level, but otherwise straight profile,, acceptable bite, very wide set ears nicely open at the base, and slanted eyes of a deep blue. Lengthy muscular body on long elegant limbs and tapering tail of good length. Points of a warm cinnamon and warmish white coat short and of excellent texture. Res Imp Gr. Ch. to SHAND S GR. CH. PALMIRA NICOLE, SIA n21, Seal tabby point, 2yr. A shy girl of very good type, looking a touch lean in the pen, but quite weighty when we handled her, and showing signs of having recently having kittened? Neat medium/long wedge, Ok bite, straight profile, wide set ears of good size and expressive eyes of an excellent deep blue. Good length of body and elegant, but a touch spare and tail of balancing length. All tabby markings clear and of a dark warm seal, with single ribbons, scarab, whisker spots, barring on limbs, spine line, and tail rings a touch colder in tone. Coat short and close, with ticked shading. The other entry had many good points, but the eye colour was dark but a touch dull, and the tail lacked a little in taper, being slightly thick at the base, and the coat was a little long but in other respects, was most pleasing. Siamese Imperial class neuter male. Not awarded LAIRD S GR. PR. PALMIRA REBUS, SIA c, Lilac point, 2yr5m. A large and well muscled friendly chap with an even wedge and bite, straight profile, large well set ears and deep blue eyes with an honest look. Huge long body and slightly thick tail needing another inch to balance. Coat a little long but super condition, and points of a dark bluish lilac with shading on his coat which was a little too cold for a lilac. That, together with the dark points were my reasons for not giving the award sorry! Siamese/Balinese Grand class female. GR.CH to SHAND S CH. PALMIRA NICOLE, SIA b21, Chocolate tabby point, 2yr. A friendly girl with a medium wide wedge, bite missing a few incisors, straight profile and large ears with just enough width between. Orientally shaped eyes of a good deep blue, neat body well muscled and tail a touch thick but of good length. All markings evident of a slightly cooler and darker shade of chocolate than perfect, but acceptable, with single tracings, scarab, and striped limbs and tail. Coat a touch open possibly cold? But short and ticked shading to match the points. Appealing pink nose leather. The other entry was absent.
Siamese/Balinese Grand Neuter class male. Gr.Pr. to COX S PR. ZUMALA BURNING AMBITION, SIA em, Apricot point, 1yr3m. Simply super, with a balanced longish wedge, excellent bite, well set ears of good size and slanted eyes of a good depth of blue. Long muscular body on elegant long limbs, and tapering tail of balancing length. Points of a delicate apricot and warm off-white coat of excellent quality and matching slight shading. All matched but the only problem was that he was a little unhappy at being taken out of his double pen. Lilac point Siamese adult female. BOB to DAVIES GR. CH. WICCANWAYS PAGANDREAMS, SIA c, 2yr5m. A well grown girl, with a medium wedge, large well set ears nicely open at the base, bite missing lower incisors but appeared level, and slanted eyes of a darkish but rather dull blue. Well muscled body on elegant long limbs, and tail of balancing length but lacking slightly in taper. Points of a bluish lilac and coat of lovely feel but a touch long, and warm off- white. Well presented and in the pink of condition. Cinnamon Point Siamese adult female. BOB to MICHIE S GR. CH. UZZA VAN SCALINDJO, my Imperial winner. Tabby point Siamese adult female. BOB to GR. CH. PALMIRA OIFE, SIA n, Seal tabby point, 2yr. A close result, but having a touch more style than the other entry who on seeing the catalogue, might have been a litter sister, with a long wedge, narrowing at the muzzle, wide top between large ears and slanted eyes of good depth of blue. Elegant body lines although looking a little lean was deceptively weighty elegant limbs and tail tapering nicely and just long enough for balance. Markings clear with double tracings, m bracelets on legs and clear blackish rings on tail. Ticked coat of very good quality. West of Scotland breed classes. Siamese/Balinese Grand Neuter female class. Gr.Pr. to COX S IMP GR.CH &PR. EIREACHDAIL FHUARAN, SIA em, Apricot, 3yr6m. A lovely friendly girl who was so calm and enjoying cuddles. Even medium wedge, slight dip at brow level but otherwise Ok profile, missing lower incisors but gum meets the upper ones, so acceptable. Rear good for size and set, eyes slanted and of a brilliant blue, and elegant well developed body, limbs and tail, which was of balancing length. I query the colour, which was more of a slightly warm cream than an apricot to my thinking, but I gave her the benefit of doubt. Coat slightly cool off-white, super quality and lightly shaded to tone with the points. Seal point Siamese adult female. CC and BOB to SHAND S ABICASA DREAM MAKER, SIA n, 1yr6m. An elegant lass with a long wedge, slight pinch, tiny bump at brow level but otherwise even profile, missing upper incisors but gums level, and extremely large ears set wide. Angled eyes of good depth of colour, elegant but long lean body needing a little more weight for my taste, long limbs and tail of balancing length and nicely tapered. Points a dense warm seal and coat of good quality, but quite shaded now to tone with the points. While I was not entirely happy with her leanness, the obvious style was there and I decided to award the certificate. Chocolate point Siamese male. CC and BOB to SAMPHIER S EIREACHDAIL ROCK N ROLL, SIA b, 1yr3m. A strong typical male in his prime, with a wide medium wedge, missing some incisors but bite acceptable, good profile and depth of chin, Large wide set ears and expressive eyes which I would have like to be deeper blue for this points colour, but acceptable. Strong heavyweight and muscular body, already inclining to jowliness around the neck, strong limbs and tail just long enough.
His points colour was dark chocolate but were warm, and his warm off -white coat was excellent quality and lightly shaded to match. Lilac point Siamese neuter male. BOB w/h due to colour no judge likes to withhold - please see earlier comments. Apricot point Siamese neuter. BOB to male COX S PR. ZUMALA BURNING AMBITION, over the female, COX S IMP.GR.CH.& PR. EIREACHDAIL FHUARAN. Miscellaneous classes. A/C Oriental/Siamese/Balinese adult, bred by exhibitor. How nice to see a large class, but a problem with so many stylish exhibits. 1. DEVLIN S IGC BAROUSHKA BI-DESIGN, OSHns03 25, Black smoke bi-colour ticked tabby male, 2yr4m. A wriggly chap oozing class, large and well-muscled, and such a miscellany of markings black lining around eyes of almond shape and pale green, silvering at the roots and tabby patches ticked well, adorable pink nose and so well prepared for his outing. 2. SHAND S CH. PALMIRA NICOLE. 3. SAMPHIER S EIREACHADAIL ROCK N ROLL. A/C Oriental/Siamese/Balinese non-breeders adult. 1. MICHIE S GR. CH. UZZA VAN SCALINJO. 2. SHAND S ABICASA DREAM MAKER. 3. A rangy chap of substance and style, with a shortish wedge with even lines apart from a slight dip in profile, slanted eyes of a mid green, and coat of good quality and of a mid fawn, showing classic tabby markings which were a touch faint in places.. 2. HARVEY S ENIGMATIC PARTY LIKE A RUSSIAN, OSH b, Chocolate Oriental male, 1yr. And a lovely laid-back chap who went to sleep on my shoulder type fairly good, and so appealing! Thus it was difficult to assess him, but all seemed to balance although his colour was a touch dark for my taste. It seemed a shame to disturb him, so we put him back to complete his beauty sleep! AV Shorthair kitten. A lovely collection of appealing kittens of different breeds, making the result so difficult 1. BOWD S PRIMAGEETA SILVER DARRACH-BEE, BSH ns 24, Silver spotted tabby British male, 5m. Broad head, clear nose-break, rounded amber eyes and neat ears placed well apart and upright, within the confines of the head. Well developed body on sturdy limbs and clear tabby markings of black on silver base spots still developing and not as clear as my third placed cat, but type was slightly better. 2. PECK S MIAKUSH ASGIER ZEUS, RUS a, Russian male, 7m. Strong chap with rounded head, slight nose break, ears well placed and angled eyes of a pale green. Superb coat short and plushy, and of a silvery blue. 3 BRANNNEY S PRIMAGEETA SILVER DONALD-BEE, BSH, ns24, Silver spotted tabby British male, 5m. and a litter brother of the first placed cat I see. While the markings were more clear, I thought the overall type was not as strong as my winner. AV Oriental/Siamese/Balinese breeders kitten. 1. DEVLIN S BAROUCHKA DAQUARI, OSH d03, Red Bi-colour male, 3m. A typical baby showing much promise, with a wide short wedge and large ears set well, eyes still showing a bit of blue but on the turn to green, rich red patches with tabby markings showing, as one would expect from this colour, and white tummy and other patches of white all clear and clean. Well presented youngster. 2. KEY S KALOKE KISJEANNE, SIA n, Seal point Siamese female, 3m. Another well developed kitten for her age, with a shortish wedge, wide top between large ears, and angled eyes of a good depth of blue. Points a touch cool at present and an almost clear coat, also lacking a little in
warmth still to develop and promising. 3. SAMPHIER S EIRAEACHDAIL GLAD ALLOVER, OSH b, Havana female, 7m. Another lovely youngster, better developed and very wriggly! Eyes slightly more yellow than green, but otherwise all even with a long tapering tail. AV Oriental/Siamese/Balinese non-breeders kitten. 1. WALLACE S SERAPIS DARTH-ZEPHYR, OSH n24, Oriental Seal spotted tabby male, 4m. Well developed already, with an even medium wedge, ears a touch close but of good size, almond eyes of a clear green, muscular body on long limbs and nicely tapering tail of balancing length. Markings all so very clear, with spots on flanks, scarab, two ribbons and two necklaces, all of a dark warm seal on a warm lighter base. 2. DAVIES METEXA STORMZY-AT-WICCANWAYS, OSH m, 5m. Another appealing cat, with even wedge lines, eyes nearly green, with just a hint still of blue, huge ears following the lines of the wedge, elegant body, limbs and tail, and sound coat very slightly more reminiscent of a lilac than a caramel at present but of excellent quality, sound to the roots. 3. DEVLIN S ADJULOR BAROUSHKA COC-CHANEL, OSH b03, Oriental chocolate bi-colour female, 4m. A rather angry lady of excellent size for her age, with good distribution of, but very dark chocolate patches and white we did not disturb her longer than was necessary as she had obviously had enough by then! AV Oriental/Siamese/Balinese kitten. 1. DEAN S ENIGMATIC SPARKS, OSH d, Oriental red male neuter, 7m. This chap was getting slightly edgy but it was getting late in the day for us both!. Long wedge, even profile, almond shaped green eyes, long muscular body and super coat for colour and quality, still showing some ghost markings which should clear in time otherwise appeared sound. 2. WALLACE S SERAPIS A-NEW-HOPE, OSH g, Oriental blue tortie female, 4m. Wriggly and friendly wanting to play! Attractive lass, neat medium wedge, well placed ears, wiry baby body, tail tapering and of good length. Eyes a touch too bold, being more rounded and full and of a bluish green. Super coat well mingled with blue and shades of cream, and some patches suspiciously almost white, but time will tell! AV Oriental/Siamese/Balinese kitten any age. 1. DEVLIN S BAROUSHKA DAQUARI. 2. SAMPHIER S EIREACHDAIL GLAD ALLOVER. AV Oriental/Siamese/Balinese non-breeders neuter. 1. SAXON S I.G.PR. EIREACHDAIL JUSTA GIGOLO, OSH n03 33, Seal tabby point and white bi-colour male, 3yr. Very angry again, but obviously a class act, with strong head, almost straight profile, large, well set ears and almost too low at times for an Oriental. Patches of seal showing tabby markings and patches of clear clean white, dark nose and small light patches on cheeks pity he was so unhappy as I would have like to take more time admiring his qualities.
