In accordance with new Victorian State Laws all sheep breeds born in Victoria from 1 January 2017 must be identified with an ELECTRONIC NLIS (sheep) tag before being consigned to an Agricultural Show or to another property. If you are entering lambs born in 2017 and beyond please ensure they are tagged accordingly. 2. A National Sheep Health Statement must be completed by all exhibitors and returned with entry form. 3. Sheep may be shown either in wool or shorn, shorn sheep to be shorn after 1st August 2018. 4. All sheep and lambs must be registered with the respective breed organisation and tagged with the breeders property of origin NLIS tag. Sheep not tagged will be disqualified and must be removed from the showgrounds. 5. REGISTRATION DETAILS AND FLOCK NUMBER MUST BE WRITTEN ON ENTRY FORM, or entry will be ineligible. 6. All Rams to be Brucellosis tested, or from brucellosis accredited free flocks. Certificates must be produced on request. 7. Johne's Disease - whilst no responsibility can be taken by the Society for the actions of exhibitors in exhibiting livestock with a "0" ABC map score, the Society will ensure the sheep shed will be cleaned prior to the show and clean straw provided. It will be the responsibility of exhibitors to ensure that the laneways are kept clear of urine soaked material and faeces, and the Society will undertake the responsibility to ensure that judging areas are kept clean and tidy. 8. No sheep shall be allowed to compete if infected with footrot or external parasites. 9. Owners must parade their sheep for judging, if required. 10. The sheep pavilion has a maximum number of 100 entrants. Should this number be exceeded then a maximum number of exhibits per entrant will apply at the discrection of the Superintendent. 11. Exhibits will not be accepted later than 8.30 am and cannot leave shed until after 4:30 pm. 12. Late entries will not be accepted. 13. All sheep must be the bona fide property of the Exhibitor and been property of the owner for at least 3 months. 14. STRICTLY NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED IN THE PAVILION 15. SMITH MEMORIAL TROPHY donated by Geoff Smith MOST SUCCESSFUL EXHIBITOR AWARD. A $100 Trophy donated by MELBOURNE POLYTECHNIC - EPPING will be awarded to the Exhibitor gaining the highest points in the Sheep and Prime Lamb Section. CITY OF WHITTLESEA PERPETUAL TROPHY A Trophy valued at $300 donated by the City of Whittlesea will be awarded to the Exhibitor who gains the highest number of combined points in the Commercial Beef Cattle (Group FE), Commercial Beef Herd (Group FD), Domestic Trade Cattle (Group FC), Hoof Competition (Group FFF), Pen of Three Steers and a Pen of Three Replacement Heifers (Group FG), Sheep and Prime Lambs (Group GD) and Farm & Garden (Group O) Farm Produce (Classes 1-7) sections of the Whittlesea Show. A Perpetual Trophy donated by the City of Whittlesea will be inscribed with the winner's name. The Trophy is to be held by the Whittlesea Agricultural Society. An exhibitor is only entitled to have the highest points they achieve in each class counted towards the aggregate total for this Trophy. For Example: Exhibitor enters 2 exhibits in Farm Produce Class 7 Bale of Meadow Hay. They win 1st and 3rd prize. Only the 1st prize points will be counted towards the aggregate total.
