Foreword The South Island members of the New Zealand Dorper Breed Society are pleased to bring you their 4 th Annual South Island Dorper Breeders Sale. Eleven breeders have entered 49 quality Dorper and White Dorper animals allowing a good variety of genetics. Dorper Sheep Breed South Island Sale 14 January 2012 Conditions of Sale: 1. All stud sheep are registered animals or progeny of registered animals with breeding pedigrees (Australian or New Zealand). All vendors selling sheep are registered with the New Zealand Sheep Breeders Association. 2. The upset price for rams on sale day shall be $500. 3. The minimum price for any ram sold outside the sale ring shall be $500. 4. The upset price for purebred ewes on sale day shall be $350. 5. The minimum price for any purebred ewe sold outside the sale ring shall be $350. 6. All White Dorper rams and ewes presented for sale are confirmed as a non carrier of the Dermatosparaxis gene (entries for all White Dorper sheep have been compared with the register held by the NZ Sheepbreeders Association office). 7. All rams will be sold one animal per pen/lot. Ewes will be catalogued and sold either as one animal per pen/lot or as two animals per pen/lot (except cross bred animals where there can be a maximum of five per pen/lot) 8. All sale animals are shorn within six weeks of the sale or have a cover of less than 1.5cm. 9. All entries are from Accredited Brucellosis Free Flocks (a copy of the current Brucellosis Certificate accompanies all entries). 10. Crossbred ewe pens will be sold per pen/lot. 11. All crossbred ewes have a pedigree showing the sires and base dam breed used for upgrading (this will be displayed on their pen). 12. No sheep to be sold on the grounds on sale day other than those entered into the catalogue. 13. All sheep catalogued by the breeder must be owned by that breeder and not sold on behalf of another person. 14. All sale sheep will be inspected by the Auctioneer prior to sale day. 15. All sheep entered will be catalogued and no withdrawals can be made after entries close. In the event of a catalogued entry being injured or otherwise being unfit for sale a substitution will be permitted. Substitutes must also pass inspection. 16.
