Southern Counties Cat Club 9 FEBRUARY 2019 Stephen Parkin My thanks to Sue and the committee for the invitation to judge at a popular and busy show. I had a full book with some very good cats including a very strong line up of quality Brown Spotted Bengals and Asians. A.C. BENGAL, OCICAT, AZTEC OR EGYPTIAN MAU CHAMPION GRCC Cousins s CH SILVERGLAM KOSUKE, (BEN n 24). M, 30.4.17. Really super Brown Spotted Bengal boy. Strong powerful boy with good muscle on a solid frame. Proportionate muscular legs with large rounded paws. Balanced thick and even tail. Head has a broad wedge. Good profile, broad muzzle with a good depth of chin and a level bite. Well set medium-small ears, large expressive oval eyes a clear green in colour. Super coat soft and dense. Clear facial markings, well covered with a mixture of rosettes and arrowheads and discrete spots underneath. Happy to come out and show himself off. A.C. ASIAN, TONKINESE OR AUSTRALIAN MIST CHAMPION GrCC Dewhurst s CH SKAMPAWS RAZZLE DAZZLE, (ASH h 22 31). F, 15.12.16. Chocolate Tortie with BCR Classic Tabby Asian girl. A really striking pattern is the first thing one sees but the Tangerine tortie part took a little finding, lurking as it did on the feet. Head has a short wedge, with depth, gently rounded top of head, medium sized ears which are set to follow the line of the face. Expressive lustrous eyes with the desired Asian shape and set at a slight angle. Profile shows a distinct nose break, muzzle could have a little more strength but is gently rounded, a firm chin and a level bite. Medium body with a firm feel and good breadth with a solid feel to it. Matching strong yet elegant legs with neat oval paws. Medium length tail with a slight taper to a blunt tip. Clear facial markings, Classic pattern symmetrical and very clearly defined in a milk chocolate on a pale oatmeal base. Coat medium-short, fine and close lying, soft and silky to the touch. Handled well out of the pen. 2 nd RW/H Short s CH KURSHINKA KUNGFU PANDORA, (ALH h 11). F, 24.7.17. A really pleasing overall type to this Chocolate Tortie Shaded Tiffanie girl. Medium body but with a substantial feel to it. Proportionate slender legs with neat oval paws, medium tail in harmony with the body for length. Her head is a short broad wedge with a fair depth of skull, good top of head with medium tufted ears of good shape and set. Expressive large eyes which varied in shape from full to narrow slits but briefly showed the desired Asian shape set at a slight angle. Good profile with a strong gently rounded muzzle. Very slight rise to the nose. Chin a little shallow but not weak, bite is level. Coat currently lets her down as it is simply too short but is fine and silky, well mingled, chocolate and tangerine with a gentle shading to the roots. Happy to come out and handled well. I look forward to seeing her with a full coat. RUSSIAN BLUE ADULT, MALE BoB Stark, I GR CH DUSHENKA RAFAEL, (RUS a). M, 22.9.15. Mature Russian Blue boy with good overall conformation for the breed. Strong muscular body with proportionate long legs with small oval paws. His tail is in balance with the body for length, tapering from a broad base. His head has a short wedge with well grown whisker pads. Very mobile ears set a little wide as far as I could tell briefly held upright. Eyes of good shape and set. Profile has a distinct Angle with a shallow curve from brow to nose. Shallow chin with an untidy bite. Coat has density and soft to the touch with an overall silver sheen. Handled very well out of the pen.

RUSSIAN BLUE ADULT, FEMALE Considered for BoB Jackson GR CH TROIKA TAMORA, (RUS a). F, 1.6.15. Well grown Russian blue girl. She seemed to be out of sorts and not showing herself off at all. Good overall conformation. She spoiled her expression by insisting on holding in her whisker pads, firm chin with an untidy bite. Her head has a short wedge, well set eyes and ears. Coat very dark and lacking much in the way of a silver sheen. Sort and fine coat but with a resilient texture. Just wanted to be back in her pen. BROWN SPOTTED BENGAL ADULT, MALE BoB Cousins s CH SILVERGLAM KOSUKE See above 1 st CC Alger-Street s TYPHAS EROS, (BEN n 24). M, 4.3.18. Brown Spotted Bengal young male, very well developed for his age, very well grown with a strong frame and a powerful muscle. Strong proportionate legs with large rounded feet. Thick even tail of good length. Head has a balanced broad wedge, good top of head with smallmedium ears of good shape and set. Large oval eyes well set. Profile shows a slight dip a broad gently rounded muzzle, with a good depth of chin and a level bite. Distinct facial markings, well covered a mix of rosettes and arrowheads on a slightly darkish base although warm at the base, single spots on the underparts. Short fine coat with good density. Relaxed and friendly boy who handled well. BROWN SPOTTED BENGAL ADULT, FEMALE 1 st CC O Neill & A Finch s LEOPARDSTAR TATSU, (BEN n 24). F, 13.5.17. A really pleasing Brown Spotted Bengal girl with very good type but was so worried that she did not show herself off to her best advantage. Good size and weight with strong bone structure. Balanced medium tail. Head has a broad wedge good top of head, small-medium ears, worried rather rounded eyes. Good profile, broad gently rounded muzzle, a firm chin and a level bite. Clear facial markings well covered in single spots overall including underneath, ground coat rather pale and could be warmer. Coat short and fine with some density. much happier back under the blankets. OCICAT ADULT 1 st CC & BoB Leggett s YESSO FASHION NOVA, (OCI bs). F, 20.3.18. Chocolate Silver Ocicat young girl. Medium sized long, elegant body with good muscle, matching legs with neat oval paws, tail tapers from a broad base and is commensurate to the body for length. Head is a modified wedge with gently flowing contours, ears set at just a little more than 45 at the moment. Good profile well grown whisker pads which help with the squareness of the muzzle, a firm chin and a level bite. Distinct facial markings, broken necklace and leg bars, well covered in dark chocolate spots overall, with bullseyes distinct on the flanks, on a clear silver base. Coat short and fine with density and a resilient texture. A little reticent at first but quickly settled and handled well. AZTEC ADULT 1 st CC & BoB Leggett s YESSO PANDORA, (AZT bs). F, 20.3.18. Chocolate Silver Aztec girl, litter sister to the Ocicat girl above and very similar in overall conformation.

Medium long body with a firm feel. Proportionate legs with oval paws. Balanced tapering tail. Head is a modified wedge with gentle curves currently a fraction long for perfect balance, good top of head with large well set ears, set at 45. Full rounded almond shaped eyes a bright amber in colour, set at a slight angle. Good profile, muzzle has a distinct squareness to it, a firm chin and a level bite. Clear symmetrical, chocolate pattern to the body with well marked oysters and butterflies across the shoulders on a clear silver base. Distinct facial markings and leg bars. Coat short and fine with a satiny feel to it. A very curious girl who wanted to see the world and was keen to start today. She did come out by herself and handled well. 2 nd Maudlin s THORSOAK FREYJA, (AZT n). F, 7.1.18. This Tawney Aztec girl was very worried and needed to be gently coaxed out of the pen. Medium long body with a firm feel, medium legs in harmony with the body with oval paws. Tail tapers from a broad base and is in proportion to the body. Head a modified wedge a little long for perfection at present. Ears of good shape and size but very mobile making it impossible to judge the set. Amber eyes, very round and full but she was very worried. Clear facial markings, symmetrical Classic Tabby pattern in black on a warm brown base, well defined oysters but the butterflies across the shoulders were very confused. Coat short and fine with a satin-like texture. Much happier back in the pen and with her blanket. OCICAT KITTEN 1 st & BoB MacKay s THORSOAK COCO BRIOCHE BREADNUT, (OCI bs). MN, 11.6.18. Very well grown Chocolate Silver Ocicat neutered male kitten almost adult and showing good maturity. Pleasing overall conformation for the breed. Head has a modified wedge, currently just a little long for perfection. Well set tufted ears held at 45 Expressive rounded almond eyes. Good profile, muzzle has some squareness already, a firm chin and a level bite. Clear Facial markings leg bars and solid tail tip, distinct chocolate spots on a clear agouti silver base, including bulls-eyes on the flanks, a little tarnish on the muzzle only. A bit of a wriggler but quickly settled and handled well. EGYPTIAN MAU KITTEN 1st BoB Williams s ASTARTESMALL AMMERA, (MAU n 24). F, 27.8.18. Bronze Egyptian Mau girl. She has a gently rounded moderate wedge, medium ears, with tufts, of good shape, wide at the base and cupped forward. Large eyes, rounded almond in shape and set under a level brow, a pale green in colour. Profile shows a gentle curve from brow to nose whose parallel lines and level brow give her a Worried look. Gently rounded muzzle with developing whisker pads. Chin has good depth but is set back a little, the bite is level. Elegant body of good length with a firm feel to it. Matching legs with small rounded feet. Tapering tail of good length but needs more width at the base. Clear facial markings with an M on the forehead, mascara lines and complex scarab. Broken necklaces and evident leg bars. A very distinct pattern with the body randomly covered in clear, discrete brown spots, with a little linkage aft of the shoulders, on a very pale copper-bronze agouti base. Spotting clear on the underparts, evident tail rings and solid tail tip. Coat medium-short in length a developing density and sheen but still a little silky in texture at present. Unphased by the show environment, a happy and relaxed kitten who handled well out of the pen.
