D E F I N I T I O N S Article 3 Non-commercial movement of pets non-commercial movement of animal pets is movement of not more than five pets not intended for sale or other form of transfer of ownership to third parties, and which includes moving of pets, i.e. their importation, transit, exportation or re-importation to the territory of Republic of Serbia, accompanied by the owner or other competent/responsible person authorized by the owner.

Serbia is not on the list with favorable situation in regard of Rabies Titration test has to be perfomed minimum 30 days after Rabies vaccination with favourable results (antibody titar in serum higher than 0,5 IU/ml), and minimum 3 months before dispatch. Serbia has one laboratory on list of EU approved laboratories for antirabies testing - Pasteuer Institute Novi Sad in accordance with Council Decision 2000/258EC http://ec.europa.eu/food/animal/liveanimals/pets/approval

WHO PERFORMS THE CONTROL? The documentary and identity check up to five pet animals is performed by custom authorities (Law on Veterinary Matters, OG RS No 91/05,30/10,93/12)-Article 128, Paragraph 1

WHO PERFORMS THE CONTROL? Veterinary Directorate procured microchip readers at all border crossings where customs officers are located and our border veterinary inspectors were conducting trainings of customs officers on the manner of performance of documentary and identity check and the use of readers. For the time being at seventeen border crossing points documentary and identity check is performed by custom officers ( in previous period was 9)

What to do in the case of non-compliance Returns to the country of origin/dispatch Put the animal in quarantine under supervision of authorised veterinary officer Put the animal down, in accordance to Animal Welfare Law without financial compensation
