What a great way to start my judging engagements for 2019, fabulous show, really happy relaxed atmosphere and so many quality cats and kittens present. A new venue, it worked very well and I was so honoured to be invited to be part of the seventeenth championship show. My thanks to Brian and Di on their excellent show management once again, I am sure that Anne will be looking down on the show with a lot of pride and a big smile. Lovely catering by Mandy, Sean and helpers, the lunch was delicious. Special thanks to my husband Steve for driving and especially for stewarding for me. Finally thanks to everyone who supported the show, the cats and kittens made a fantastic display for the beautiful Norwegian Forest Cat breed. AC SILVER TABBY OR SILVER TABBY & WHITE CHAMPION (GR CH) GC, BROWN S CH MYSCHYFKITZ KISMET (NFO gs 23), F, 19.06.17 Blue Tortie Silver Mackerel Tabby. A very feminine young lady of almost twenty months and her development is what I would expect for this stage of her life. Lovely large well furnished ears, sitting high on the head. Head shows good triangular shape and tapers well towards the muzzle area. Pale green eyes, oval shaped and set in a good oblique setting. She has a very bright alert expression. Long nasal line, there is a tiny change in direct to the profile when viewed from the side. Chin of good depth though could be a little firmer. Overall she is a medium sized female, still has some filling out and development to do but she has time on her side and will not be fully mature for another couple of years. Long body, quite large boning to limbs with back legs slightly longer, round tufted paws. Very well furnished bushy tail, just about reaching the shoulders though I wouldn t want to see it any shorter. Pleasing coat texture for a female of this age with woolly undercoat and guardhairs present. She has good length to the ruff and full knickerbockers. Super to handle and very playful, interacting with the teaser toy. AC GRAND PREMIER (IMP GR PR) MALE IGP, GASKELL S GR PR NORMAGIKATT MATHIS (NFO a 09) MN, 17.08.15 Blue & White. A lovely large and well balanced male, he has a very nice expression, so typical of the breed. Good clear equilateral triangular head shape, the outer ear lines follow the headlines. Well furnished ears, though for perfection they could perhaps be just a touch larger to really balance the head size. Excellent straight profile, firm deep chin. Lovely deep green eyes, set well and oval in shape, this cat really does look down his nose at you. Long heavy body, very well muscled and supported by well boned limbs and large round tufted paws. Long bushy tail, beautifully furnished, reaching the shoulders and balancing the body length very well. Impressive coat, especially for a blue where the softer texture is often seen - not this boy, he had lots of woolly undercoat and lots of longer guardhairs with that slightly coarser texture to give the waterproof coat. Well developed ruff and knickerbockers finished him off nicely. White to nose, bib, chest, underbody and limbs. Nicely groomed for the show, the deep blue contrasted well with the whites. It was no big surprise to see him up in the Best in Show pens later in the day and I ended up making him Best Neuter in Show. AC GRAND PREMIER (IMP GR PR) FEMALE IGP, GASKELL S GR PR FORESTSHADOW SKYE (NFO ns 09 23), FN, 31.03.16 Silver Mackerel Tabby & White. A massive female, bigger than some of the males present today. She has such a large strong triangular shaped head yet still retains a feminine expression with beautiful pale green obliquely set eyes which are oval shaped. Large ears, set well on the head and very well furnished with long tufts coming out of them. Long nose with a ruler straight profile which leads to a firm chin. Really long heavy muscular body, Page 1

huge bone structure to legs and paws, she stands slightly higher on the back legs. Wonderful long bushy furnishings to the tail, it balanced well with the body and reached the shoulders. Currently in full winter coat with a lot of woolly undercoat covered by a waterproof topcoat, really full ruff and knickerbockers. The silver tabby contrasted well with the white areas. She was rather tense and initially refused to come out. We left her for a while and when we returned we managed to remove her from her pen for judging. It was worth persevering as she really is a very impressive cat, though today she wasn t too keen on being judged. Beautifully presented for the show. RESERVE, ROSE S GR PR LANDSKER CALYPSO S RAINBOW (NFO fs 09 22), FN, 19.08.16 Tortie Silver Tabby & White. A very pretty tortie with that classic split face colouration, red to the left side and black based to the right. Lovely large ears, sporting tips and tufts, they sit high on the head and follow the outer headlines well. Triangular shaped head, she does have a tendency to puff out the whisker pads though the bone structure underneath tapers well towards the muzzle area. Oval shaped green eyes, set in a quite a good oblique set though her eye set wasn t quite as good as my winner s. Long straight line to the nasal profile. Firm chin of good depth. Long muscular body, nicely boned limbs, she stands slightly higher on the back legs. Tail just reached the shoulders, I would like it a little longer ideally, however it was very well furnished and had a bushy texture. Woolly undercoat with longer glossy waterproof guardhairs covering the body. Well developed knickerbockers and ruff framing the face. Lovely mingled tortie to the body intermingled with larger patches of red. White to the feet, underbody and up the nose. Very unlucky to come up against Skye in this class today. Easy to handle and well presented for the show. AOC JUNIOR ADULT CC, CARRICK S NOYNAROCK MOLLYWEASLEY (NFO a 09), F, 09.10.17 Blue & White. A very well muscled female. Although a little tense today she allowed us to handle and assess her. Large ears, well placed on the triangular shaped head. Her muzzle area is a little rounded though because she was tense she was puffing out the whisker pads. Nasal profile shows a tiny change in direction rather than being truly ruler straight. Obliquely set green eyes, oval in shape. Chin quite firm and of good depth. Long firm muscular body, well boned limbs and round paws. Lovely tail all round, it was very well furnished and bushy, the length balanced the body very well and easily reached the shoulders. It was her coat development that really swung this class her way today, she had a well developed woolly undercoat and substantial topcoat with longer slightly harsh waterproof guardhairs to cover it, they increase in length down the back and sides of the body. Ruff and knickerbockers present. Quite a deep shade of blue to the coat with white up the nose, to the bib, chest, underbody and feet. Well presented with sparkling whites. 2 ND BREWOOD S ENGELNORD PENELOPE (NFO g 09), 07.03.18 Blue Tortie & White. Second place today really doesn t justify how much I really liked this girl, there was so little between the two. Lovely large ears, sitting high and with the outer ear lines following the headlines well. Oval shaped green eyes, well set in a good oblique. Her profile was not quite as good as my winner s and I took this into consideration when placing. It has a slight bump and a little bulbous towards the tip. Chin quite firm. Lovely long body, solid boning, the limbs support the body well. Long tail reaching the shoulders and well furnished. Her coat is currently on the shorter side, I put this down to age as she is just going through her first adult winter. Because the coat is shorter, it made her appear a little leggy and typically adolescent in comparison to the winner who was a year older. The undercoat had a woolly texture and had some coarser guardhairs present. Quite a deep shade of blue, contrasting well with the cream. A promising young lady and a very Page 2

close call between the two as I can see her potential for the future. However, I have to judge as I see on the day and today Mollywheasley had the better profile and coat. However, Penelope was one of my take-home cats today as I loved her squeaky meow, it stole my heart and I could still hear her squeaking for attention long after I left her. I look forward to watching how she matures as she shows potential. AOC SENIOR ADULT, MALE I considered for BOB: GRANT S GR CH NOYNAROCK ZAC, (NFO as) M, 06.04.14 Blue Smoke. A really large and impressive mature male. Really large boy with a huge masculine head, it shows an equilateral triangle and tapers towards the muzzle area. Large well furnished ears, set wide and following the outer headlines. Obliquely set green eyes. Long nose, his nasal profile shows a bump rather than being ruler straight. Wonderful body shape and size with really well boned limbs and paws. Tail reached the shoulders and was nicely furnished. Lovely dense woolly undercoat with a slightly coarse topcoat present. I described this cat as lion-like, he really has a huge presence and I loved judging him. A strong contender for BOB until I encountered my eventual winner, and chose her because of her better profile. AOC SENIOR ADULT, FEMALE BOB, GRANT S CH NOYNAROCK WINNIE (NFO fs 03), F, 29.02.16 Tortie Smoke & White. I had a number of cats from which I had to choose BOB and for me, today, this girl was the best in the class when I considered all the points. She has a strong head of good triangular shape with equilateral sides and a long straight line to her nose. Ideally I would like to see her ears a touch larger thought they are well positioned and very well furnished indeed. Lovely long straight nasal profile. Firm deep chin. Long weight body, large bone structure to legs and paws, the paws were of good rounded shape and well tufted. Lovey coat for length and texture with lots of woolly undercoat and a well developed slightly coarser topcoat. Full ruff around the neck, the body finished with very well developed knickerbockers. Attractive mix of black and red with a silvery base, contrasting with the whites. A lovely girl all round. I also considered: CANDLER S CH KATTJEWELS PHOEBE (NFO g) F 24.04.16 Blue Tortie. Initially this girl was reluctant to be judged but she came out with a bit of persuasion and once out she handled well. Medium sized ears, I would like to see them a little larger ideally. Good triangular head shape with well placed large ears and a lovely oblique eye set to the bright green eyes. Wonderful ruler straight nasal prolife, good firm deep chin, Tail just reached the shoulders, I would like it a touch longer for true balance. Lots of woolly undercoat present with some guardhairs evident, though overall the coat wasn t quite as good as my BOB winner s today. Well mingled mix of blue and cream. She had a full ruff and knickerbockers. Well groomed for the show. BREWOOD S IMP GR CH NOYNAROCK CHLOE (NFO gs 09), F, 10.10.14 Tortie Smoke & White. I adored this girl s pattern and colour, a very striking cat. She is about 50% white with bold patches of blue and cream. Lovely large ears, sitting with their outer edges following the lines of the triangular skull shape. Nose shows a small bulbous bump below the nasal bridge and for me this detracted from the overall nasal profile when compared to others in the class today. Firm chin. Good well muscled body showing very good length, especially for a female. Lovely long tail which was quite well furnished. Currently in shorter coat when compared to my winner today. She has some undercoat evident. Very well presented, about 50:50 white to colour with sparking white areas. Page 3

AC TABBY & WHITE (14 WEEKS TO 6 MONTHS) KITTEN, MALE 1 ST JAMES FORESTFRIEND RONNIE ROLO (NFO e 09 24), M, 10.10.18 Cream Spotted Tabby & White. A very well grown and deceptively weighty young man for age. Really large and very well furnished ears. Very nice head shape, clear triangular shape, chin was fairly firm and of nice depth. Eye colour is developing, currently hazel in colour, oval shape and sitting quite obliquely. Long nose, generally straight though just a very slight dip present in the nasal bridge area. Lovely body shape and size, already well muscled, well boned limbs and paws. Tail balanced the body, furnishings developing length. Soft baby coat, ruff and knickerbockers staring to develop. Very attractive pale cream tabby with white to chin, bib, abdomen and paws. Just four months old, he had lot of confidence and took everything in his stride. Very well presented for the show. AC TABBY & WHITE (14 WEEKS TO 6 MONTHS) KITTEN, FEMALE 1 ST REES NOYNAROCK ASTRYD (NFO g 09 22), F, 02.11.18 Blue Tortie Classic Tabby & White. Just old enough to be at the show, a real little pocket job for me! No points for colour or pattern but I did find her delicate blue/cream colours very appealing. Large ears, currently sitting high and quite close as expected at this age since her head is yet to start broadening. Obliquely set hazel coloured eyes, well opened and oval in shape. Lovely long straight profile line to the nose. The triangular head tapers towards the muzzle area though is a little rounded right at the end at the moment. Firm chin of good depth. Long body which had lovely substance for age, large bone structure to limbs ending with big round tufted paws. Bushy tail, reaching the shoulders. Really long dense baby coat with lots of woolly undercoat evident, she already has a full ruff and knickerbockers. I suspect that she will end up with a great coat as an adult. A real character who was very playful and really happy to entertain us. 2 ND HANDY S KERRS PINK S EVA PURPLE (NFO a 09 22), F, 15.09.18 Blue Classic Tabby & White. Two months older than my winner, this long muscular bodied female was well boned, with back legs slightly longer than the fronts. She had large round paws with tufts between the toes. Good balanced triangular shape to the skull, generally good straight profile to the nose, chin quite firm though not as strong as my winner s in this class. Large ears which were well furnished with tips and tufts, she had a tendency to flatten and flare them. This could have been down to the fact that she was a little unsure of her surroundings today. Green eyes, for me today they were a little too rounded and not quite as obliquely set as the previous kitten, though again this could relate to her being a little nervous and shy. Baby coat, length developing well, the texture is still a little soft as expected at this age. Quite a deep shade of blue with contrasting sparkling whites. Very well presented. AC TABBY & WHITE (6 TO 9 MONTHS) KITTEN, MALE 1 ST GASKELL S BOSTINFRIEND CHEWBACCA (NFO n 09 23), M, 05.08.18 Brown Mackerel Tabby & White. Just a couple of weeks away from being an adult, this boy is really well grown and nicely balanced. Very strong broad masculine head, triangular in shape though I wouldn t want to see it any shorter at this stage of development. Obliquely set green eyes. Long nose with a very good straight line to the profile. Chin could be a little firmer and deeper. Wonderful heavy body, very well boned limbs and large round tufted paws. Tail balanced the body nicely, it was very well furnished with a bushy texture. Excellent coat qualities for age, he has lots of woolly undercoat and longer slightly coarser guardhairs to give that desired waterproof effect. Full ruff and knickerbockers. He was rather tense and grumbly today and I hope that he settles down for any future shows. Page 4

AC TABBY & WHITE (6 TO 9 MONTHS) KITTEN, FEMALE 1 ST & BOB, DIX S SKOGVENNS ASHLEY (NFO n 09 22), F, 30.06.18 Brown Classic Tabby & White. A very promising kitten, our paths crossed again later in the day as she ended up becoming Best Female Kitten in Show, congratulations to her owner and breeder. Lovely large ears, set high on the head, she has a very alert expression. Excellent triangular shape to the head, beautiful straight nasal profile to the long nose. Chin could be just a touch firmer for perfection although it had good depth. Oval shaped green/gold eyes, sitting obliquely. Good long body with well boned limbs and paws. She stands well on the table to show off her slightly longer back legs. Fully furnished bushy tail, reaching the shoulders. Well developed knickerbockers, her ruff and body coat are developing length. No points for colour but her rich warm clear classic brown tabby really does deserve a mention anyway. White flash going up the nose, white to bib, chest, underbody and paws. When it came down to choosing the BOB, I felt that her overall head length and shape for age was better that the other winning kittens in these four classes. Very easy to handle and well groomed for the show. 2 ND DIX S SKOGVENNS GEORGIA (NFO a 09 22), F, 30.06.18 Blue Classic Tabby & White. This young lady has really large ears which sit high on the head. Clear triangular head shape, it tapers well towards the muzzle area. Well set oval shaped green/gold eyes. Long straight nose. Firm chin. I see now that she is the litter sister to my winning kitten in the class and in comparison she is quite a lot smaller. I appreciate that kittens develop at different rates, but today I had to take the size difference into account when placing the two kittens. Her body is long and balanced the head size, fairly large boning to limbs and paws. Tail reached the shoulders, furnishings developing. She has a little woolly undercoat present and the guardhairs are lengthening over the back and sides of the body, typical coat length and texture that I would expect at this stage of development. Presented well for the show. AC SILVER TABBY & WHITE KITTEN 1 ST & BOB, SHERVINGTON S NOYNAROCK FIONNUALA (NFO ns 09 22), F, 21.09.18 Silver Classic Tabby & White. A very well developed young lady, she shows excellent body length, muscularity and substance. Well boned limbs, back legs slightly longer than the fronts. Large well opened ears, sitting high on the head and following the outer triangular headlines. Obliquely set green eyes, oval in shape. Long straight nasal profile. Firm chin. The coat exhibits good guardhair length, the undercoat is developing, ruff and knickerbockers already present. About 50/50 deep blue tabby to white ratio. Today she was a little tense and grumbly although she allowed us to handle her. A very well presented kitten with pristine whites. 2 ND GATES NOYNAROCK NORDIC MOON (NFO ns 09 22), F, 19.10.18 Silver Classic Tabby & White. What a happy playful baby, she certainly kept us entertained today. Lovely large ears, well opened and currently set high on the head. Head shows a triangular shape though it wasn t quite as well balanced as my winner s today. Obliquely set green eyes. Long nose, there is a slight change in direction to the profile rather than it being ruler straight. Fairly deep chin, it rounds off slightly at the end. Good long body, solid feel to her, nicely boned legs and round tufted paws. Well furnished tail, reaching the shoulders. Quite a long baby coat with ruff and knickerbockers developing. Attractive clear classic tabby markings with white to the face, chest, underbody and feet. A very pretty baby all round. Page 5

BEST IN SHOW I was very honoured to be asked to judge Overall Best in Show. What a line up I had and any one of the cats could have been given the title. I eventually chose: GRANT S GR CH NOYNAROCK MABEL (NFO f 01 21 62), F, 15.07.15 Best in Show Female Adult and Best in Show Adult. A stunning tortie tabby & white female, really large and beautiful balanced, currently in full coat, she has a gorgeous NFC expression and real presence. My congratulations to her owner/breeder. Best Male Adult was EMERY S CH SKOGVENNS JASPER SKOGVENNS (NFO n 22), M, 01.08.12. A truly massive male, he has a huge head and really large body & bone. Another cat currently in really full coat. Best Male Kitten & Best Kitten was GASKELL S HAYNES BOSTINFOREST DARTH VADER (NFO n 09), M, 05.06.18. Super young lad, very well boned and substantial, really well grown and weighty. Sporting a lovely Sylvester black and white coat. Impressive all round today. Best Female Kitten was DIX S SKOGVENNS ASHLEY (NFO n 09 22), F, 30.06.18, my BOB winner from the Tabby & White Class reported on earlier. The male had the edge on chin strength today. Best Male Neuter & Best Neuter was GASKELL S GR PR NORMAGIKATT MATHIS (NFO a 09), MN, 17.08.15. My Imperial Winner, reported earlier in the report. Best Female Neuter was CANDLER S IMP GR CH & IMP GR PR KATTJEWELS TINKERBELL (NFO gs 22), FN, 27.08.10. A strong contender for Best Neuter as this female has lovely NFC type and presents herself so well on the table. Just lost out to the male today as he had the edge on coat at the moment. PREFIX PAIRS CLASS This really was a mammoth class, eighteen pairs of cats to judge and a real chance for me to see and compare lots of different cats. 1 ST GR CH NOYNAROCK MABEL & CH NOYNAROCK WINNIE 2 ND GR CH NOYNAROCK MABEL & CH NOYNAROCK WINSTON 3 RD BOSTINFOREST KYLO REN & BOSTINFOREST DARTH VADER Page 6
