But when the patriarch dies, the whole clan is expected to fulfill his final wish and sit Shiva for him for an entire week. Now newly divorced, newly jobless Judd Foxman has to travel home to face his dysfunctional family, including his hotto-trot psychiatrist mom, his sarcastic older brother, his unhappy sister and his too-perfect younger brother in an effort to see if family bonds will prevent them from killing one another. Spring - Snakes and Dogs With the start of Spring, snakes are beginning to emerge from their winter hibernation. They can post a serious threat to our friendly and often nosey pets in parklands, around waterways and on rural and urban properties alike. Signs of snake bite in dogs: Sudden weakness and subsequent collapse Obvious pain and discomfort Vomiting Loss of bladder and bowel control Swelling and bleeding at the bite site If you suspect your dog has been bitten seek help from your vet immediately. If you are unable to get your dog to a vet immediately, apply a pressure bandage around the site as this can help slow the spread of the venom.
Jinty & Harry Jinty came to Noah s Bark as an ex-breeding girl. We recently received this email from her as she approaches her first anniversary with Gaynor and Harry by the beach. Although initially I was very apprehensive about a 'sea change' I believe I have settled in Ocean Grove and become 'one of the family'. Everything was very new. It took me ages to eat my dry food but now I relish it, although getting there before my dear mate, Harry, can be a challenge. Those Schnauzers can be like canine vacuum cleaners! Walking on grass was a delight. I was told I looked like 'a horse prancing'. I keep Harry company during the day and although he is very keen in encouraging me to play but I don't seem to know how! I also enjoy n i b b l i n g anything woollen and appear to have a 'fetish' for chewing the fingers of gloves that are mistakenly dropped! When Gaynor went back to Wales over the Christmas period we stayed with friends. I so enjoyed nibbling the woollen cushion she had made as a gift the previous year. Lucky those knitting needles were in full motion on her return...you wouldn't have know I'd been there!! It has taken me eight months to feel safe in obtaining treats from Gaynor's hand but now I have it is all systems go! I believe I spent the first part of this year with my back against the wall and very apprehensive of humans. I'm now overjoyed to see Gaynor and run and greet her with a lick of the hand. Craigieburn Dog Park - Grand Opening Noah s Bark was delighted to take part in the opening of the Craigieburn Dog Park last Sunday with the City of Hume. The dog park offers a fantastic facility for those living in the City of Hume and surrounding areas to exercise, train and socialise their four-legged friends off-lead in a safe and secure environment. For more information on the dog park and other off-lead areas in the City of Hume go to: http://www.hume.vic.gov.au/services_for_you/pets_animals/ Walking_Your_Dog. Noah s Bark is in the process of compiling information on off-lead dog parks across Melbourne. If you have a regular park or know of a great one please email us at info@noahsbark.org.au.
