My thanks to Sarndra, Margaret and the committee for inviting me back to Leigh and the North West Show. I am truly indebted to my good friend Val Kaye for her support and hard work on what turned out to be an extremely busy day. I feel so honoured to have so many people entering cats under me in breed classes today, thank you for trusting your cats with me. I know that a lot of people wanted to speak to me after judging today but by the time I had finished, many had already packed up to leave, so my sincere apologies if I didn t get chance to see you on the day. GRAND CLASS AC BIRMAN CHAMPION ADULT FEMALE 1 ST (but Grand Withheld), BROWN S CH DALTEEMA MISS GRACE (SBI f (13c6)), F, 21.07.16 Seal Tortie Point Birman. There was so much that I loved about this young lady. Lovely strong broad rounded head with well filled cheeks and well developed muzzle. Fabulous deep blue eyes. Well placed ears of medium size. Long solid weighty body supported by thick set limbs. Very well furnished bushy tail. Winter coat is coming in, ruff framing the face. Good mingling of seal brown and varying shades of red to the points, contrasting with the very pale beige body. Nicely marked socks and full gauntlets which finished about three-quarters of the way up to the hocks. Gloves easily covered all the toes, the right one ended at the stopper pad but unfortunately the left one had a white runner which hooked round the stopper and ended well above it. This is a withholding fault and I was left with no option, I was unable to award the Grand. The bright hall lighting did her no favours today, in a hall with inferior lighting I may well have missed the unacceptable white level but today it just stood out so much against the pale beige limb colour. Other than this I thought that she was a really pretty Birman and I would have happily awarded the certificate. Beautifully presented and lovely to handle. GRAND CLASS AOV SLH PERMIER NEUTER FEMALE GRP, GUISE S PR ELMCOON ZEPHYR LILLY (MCO n 03 22 (64 41w)), FN, 11.03.16 Classic Brown Tabby & White Maine Coon. A very attractive young lady, really alert and giving the impression of a real hunter. Very large ears, they sit perhaps just a touch close together thought her head has not finished broadening yet. Well developed strong medium length head. Large expressive green/gold eyes. Profile has a shallow concave curve, very tiny bump present below the nasal bridge. Firm deep chin which balanced the head strength well. Long heavy rectangular shaped body, well boned limbs and paws. Long flowing tail, reaching the shoulders. Quite a warm toned classic brown tabby pattern, generally very well marked, sparkling white to chest, underbody and feet. Coat quality was very good, especially for the time of year and her age, a clear glossy topcoat covers the undercoat, ruff and breeches present. Very easy to handle. RESERVE, HIRD S PR ELMCOON ORLAGH (MCO ds11 (64 43ds)), FN, 29.01.15 Red Silver Shaded Maine Coon. Another large weighty female. She also has very impressive coat qualities indeed with a really substantial longer glossy topcoat covering the undercoat, the coat is visibly shorter over the shoulders and increasing down the back and sides of the body. Silvery white base colour, tipped with mid toned red. Her face is framed by a ruff and she has very full breeches. Really large long muscular body, very well boned limbs and large round tufted paws. Large ears, set high on the head and sporting tips and tufts. Medium length head with fairly full cheeks, large deep gold eyes, well opened and set slightly obliquely. Profile is straighter than my winner s though it does show a shallow concave curve. Chin of good depth though a little narrow in comparison to Lilly s. These were the main reasons for my placings in this class today. Two lovely girls, it was a shame that there could only be one winner. Page 1

SEAL POINT BRIMAN ADULT BOB, MOTT S GR CH JANDOUGLEN STEORNABHAGH (SBI n (13c1)), M, 24.03.14 Seal Point Birman. A balanced male showing a good broad head, rounded in shape with full round cheeks, well developed muzzle and a firm full chin. Almost round shape to deep blue eyes. Long body of medium size, he feels really well muscled. Limbs balance the body and end with short strong paws. Bushy tail, its length balanced the body. Medium length silky coat, ruff lengthening. He shows very good contrast between the beige body and the deep seal brown points. Rounded shaped gloves, the white covered all the toes, right sock is slightly longer than the left, gauntlets tapered very well and ended about half way up to the hocks. Lovely manners, really easy to handle. RED TABBY SERIES MAINE COON ADULT MALE CC & BOB, LISTER S COONARIA RUFFUS (MCO d 03 22 (64 41dw)), M, 30.10.16 Classic Red Tabby & White Maine Coon. I was so impressed with this young man s development and substance for just eleven months old. A deceptively heavy and very well muscled male who shows lovely large boning. Lovely large and well furnished ears, sitting about an ear s width apart on the head. Medium length head with high set cheek bones and cheeks well filled for age. Large deep gold eyes, set in a good slight oblique. Good shallow concave nasal curve to the nose. Well defined square muzzle leading to a firm deep chin. Lovely long heavy body, very well grown for eleven months, supported by very well boned limbs and large round tufted paws. Beautifully furnished flowing tail, easily reaching the shoulders. Medium length coat, it is shorter over the shoulders and shows differing lengths down the back and sides of the body, ending with full breeches. Some ruff present. Really rich vibrant red, very well marked classic tabby pattern. A very laid back chap to handle, beautifully presented for the show. RED TABBY SERIES MAINE COON ADULT FEMALE I considered for BOB: LAWSON S IGR CH SADORYOU DRAMA QUEEN (MCO f 03 22 (64 41er)), F, 04.10.13 Classic Tortie-Tabby & White Maine Coon. A mature female with a well balanced strong medium length head, slightly longer than its breadth. I loved her pale green eyes, so expressive and beautiful. Shallow concave nasal curve, square muzzle, chin wasn t quite as firm and deep as the male s today. Good long body, nicely boned limbs and paws. Long flowing tail reaching the shoulders. Currently in shorter summer coat, some ruff and fairly full breeches. The male had the edge on coat qualities today. Lovely mingled tortie coat with well marked classic pattern. Attractive red flash up the face. A really gentle girl who was great to handle, definitely not a naughty tortie! SEAL POINT BIRMAN KITTEN 1 ST & BOB, COUPLAND & BROWN S BROFIELD DENNIS THE MENACE (SBI n (13c1)), M, 15.05.17 Seal Point Birman. A promising baby of just four and a half months old. He already shows very nice breadth to the rounded skull with cheeks filling out. Large, almost round eyes, currently mid toned blue as the colour is still developing. Good slight dip to the medium length nose. Chin quite full and fairly firm. Good long body, nicely boned limbs and short strong paws. Well furnished bushy tail balancing the body. Deep seal brown colour starting to deepen, already well coloured to the ears, mask and nose with colour starting to develop depth along the tail across the face and up the legs. He had very pleasing feet Page 2

markings all round. Baby coat, feeling soft and silky with some ruff present. Very confident and beautifully presented TABBY OR TORTIE-TABBY BIRMAN KITTEN MALE 1 ST & BOB, WATKINS MYLWARD XANTIPPA (SBI b 21 (13c11)), M 13.04.17 Seal Tabby Point Birman. A very well grown heavy male showing excellent Birman type with a good broad rounded head shape, showing full cheek development, good slight dip profile, well developed muzzle and chin. Medium/large ears witting well apart. Wonderful deep blue eyes. Very weighty long body with well boned limbs and a balanced bushy tail. Very pale silky kitten coat showing very good contrast with the developing seal tabby points. Nicely marked feet all round. Lovely laid back boy who was easy to handle. 2 ND PORTER S ELMORE ELRONDOFRIVENDELL (SBI a 21 (13c12)), M 16.04.17 Blue Tabby Point Birman. This young male has a well developed head though I felt that my winner had the edge on the overall rounded shape at the moment as this boy s head was slightly more angular. Medium/large ears sitting quite wide apart on the head. Cheeks filling, slight dip to the nose with small bump present, well defined muzzle, firm full chin, Long heavy body, well bodied limbs, balanced tail with furnishings lengthening. Medium length baby coat with a good silky texture. The well developed mid toned blue tabby points showed very good contrast with the bluish white body colour. Nicely marked gloves and socks, right gauntlet is hooked in shape, left is well marked. So much to like about him but the winner had better head shape and feet markings today. Super to handle and well presented. 3 RD BROWN S DALTEEMA DIGBY (SBI e 21 (13c17)), M, 16.05.17 Cream Tabby Point Birman. A real poppet who simply adores attention and entertained us constantly when we were in the area. Saffron fell in love with him and he wanted her to stay and play for the rest of the day. Younger than the other two and consequently smaller though he was nicely balanced for age. Medium/large ears, sitting well apart on the well rounded head. Cheeks filling out. Fabulous expressive deep blue eyes. Slight dip to the nose with a small drop-off present towards the tip. Chin could be a touch firmer and deeper. Long body, size balanced the head, nicely boned limbs and paws. Balanced tail, bushy furnishings developing. Medium length silky baby coat, very pale off-white colour with cream to the ears, nose and tail. The cream points are just starting to develop up the legs and consequently it was very difficult to determine the gauntlets at the moment though I think that they finish about halfway up. Gloves and socks present and seemed to be nicely marked. This baby shows promise, unlucky to meet the bigger guys in this class. TABBY OR TORTIE-TABBY BIRMAN KITTEN FEMALE 1 ST BROWN S DALTEEMA LUCY LOCKET (SBI e 21 (13c17)), F, 16.05.17 Cream Tabby Point Birman. Litter mate to my 3 rd placed male and I felt that she has the edge on development when compared to her brother. Really lovely expression with a strong rounded head and wide set ears of medium size. Gorgeous large almost round deep blue eyes. Medium length nose with a slight dip present, her profile is similar to her brother s, with a small drop-off at the tip. Well developed muzzle, firm chin. Good size and substance to the long body, thick set limbs and short strong paws. Balanced bushy cream tabby tail. Full long silky baby coat, very pale off white which showed contrast with the developing cream tabby points. Front feet have nicely marked gloves, socks covered the back feet, gauntlets are present though the limb colour is not yet developed so their final shape was difficult to determine. I really liked this baby girl and will watch her development with interest. Page 3

2 ND MOTT S JANDOUGLEM TAMACHAN (SBI c 21 (13c14)), F, 05.06.17 Lilac Tabby Point Birman. Another promising baby. Very pleasing head shape, showing breadth and roundness with cheeks starting to fill out. Medium/large sized ears which sit quite wide apart. Large eyes, almost round in shape, quite a deep shade of blue though colour was a little difficult to determine as her pupils were dilated. Chin could be a little firmer and deeper for perfection. Solid weighty body, nicely boned legs and paws. Balanced tail with furnishings starting to lengthen. Medium length kitten coat, ruff starting to develop, pale magnolia in colour. Lilac tabby points developing, she has good colour development to the ears, tail and across the mask with limb colour starting to deepen. Gloves angled outwards, covering all the toes well. White socks covered the back feet, gauntlets ended about halfway up. Very happy and playful today. USUAL SOMALI KITTEN 1 ST & BOB, HORSLEY S BRIZLINCOAT HURRICANE HIGGINS (SOL n (63l)), M, 28.03.17 Usual Somali. A really super baby all round, there is so much to like about this young man. Proportionately large ears, nicely furnished, pricked and well cupped to give him a very alert expression. Lovely head shape, gentle contours developing well and he has a typical Somali smile. Almond shaped green eyes, set obliquely. Slight nose break present. Firm chin. Long body with long elegant limbs and a well furnished tail which reached the shoulders. Medium length soft baby coat, some ruff and quite full breeches present. His rich warm apricot base colour is very well ticked with black, I was very impressed with his level of ticking, especially for his tender age. Well marked black heels, facial markings and darker line along the spine and top of tail. He was very active and extremely playful, he kept us all entertained by trying to grab my teaser from my pocket. One to watch out for in the future I think. MAINE COON BROWN/BLUE TABBY (INC BI-COLOUR) KITTEN A very interesting class to judge with two litter brothers who were so similar in looks. 1 ST RICHARDSON S VESSONGS SMOKINJOE (MCO n 09 22), M, 28.04.17 Classic Brown Tabby & White Maine Coon. Very well grown for five months old with a long, rectangular shaped body which already feels weighty and substantial. Very well boned limbs and big round tufted paws. Long tail, balancing the body well, reaching the shoulders, furnishings already well developed. Lovely head shape, medium length and slightly longer than its breadth with high set cheekbones and cheeks filling out. Large ears, set about an ear s width apart, very well furnished with tips and tufts. His head shows better breadth and development that his brother s at the moment. Slight oblique setting to well opened green eyes. Shallow concave curve to the nose. Clear square shape to the strong muzzle. Firm deep chin. Coat shows differing lengths, short over the shoulders and increasing in length down the back and sides of the body with ruff and breeches present. Warm toned brown classic tabby pattern which was nicely marked, tiny white dot on the nose, white to the chin, chest, underbody and paws. A really promising kitten all round. 2 ND RICHARDSON S VESSONGS SPIRO MINKIE (MCO n 09 22), M, 28.04.17 Classic Brown Tabby & White Maine Coon. This male really does have a painted on classic tabby pattern, very well marked indeed. He has absolutely huge tufted ears, they should balance very well once his head finishes developing. Head of medium length, slightly narrower that his brother s at the moment with cheeks yet to start filling out. Green eyes, large and set slightly obliquely. Nose shows a shallow concave curve though ideally I would like to see a little more curvature present. Strong square muzzle when viewed from all angles. Firm chin of good depth. Really long muscular body with very substantial boning Page 4

to limbs and paws. Long tail, balancing the body length well, furnishings lengthening. Shorter kitten coat that my winner s, ruff starting to lengthen and he already has quite full breeches. Quite a warm toned beige agouti to the classic tabby pattern. White to lips, chin, bib, underbody and feet. Super to handle, both boys were beautifully presented for the show. Just one comment, the 09 reference is used for Norwegian Forest Cats and I would consider re-registering them both as 03 bi-colour instead since this is the and white number used for bi-colour Maine Coons. RED, CREAM, TORTIE TABBY OR TABBY & WHITE MAINE COON KITTEN 1 ST & BOB, LISTER S COONARIA ADELE (MCO f 03 22 (64 41ew)), F, 10.03.17 Classic Tortie-Tabby & White Maine Coon. Oh my goodness, I could have taken this girl home in a heartbeat, she is absolutely beautiful. Lovely head shape, very well developed for six months and showing excellent length to breadth ratio and well filled cheeks. Large well furnished ears, well placed, sitting about an ear s width apart on the head. Large expressive green/gold eyes. Good shallow concave nasal curve. Square muzzle leading to a firm chin. Long weighty muscular body, clear rectangular shape, supported by well boned limbs of medium length and large round tufted paws. Lovely long flowing tail, really well furnished. Her coat was exquisite, groomed to perfection, it really felt wonderful, well developed ruff and breeches. The undercoat was covered with a really glossy topcoat, shorter over the shoulders and increasing in length down the back and sides of the body. Vibrant tortie colours, both bold patches of colours and mingled mixing of red and brown tabby. Really well marked classic pattern, especially for a tortie where pattern can be more diffused. White present on all four feet, underbody, chest, bib, chin and lips. So much to love about this female, she is certainly a rising star of the future. 2 ND DUNN & EVANS ADJULSL FLORENITY (MCO f 22 (64 41e)), F, 04.04.17 Classic Tortie-Tabby Maine Coon. This female had a really long muscular body with large boning to medium length limbs and large round tufted paws. Tail easily reached the shoulders, it was well furnished and flowing. Huge ears, set high on the head, currently positioned just under an ear s width apart. Her head is currently on the long narrow side as breadth is yet to develop with cheeks still to fill out. Green/gold eyes. Shallow concave curve to the nose. Strong square muzzle, really firm deep chin. Medium length kitten coat, very good glossy topcoat, currently not much undercoat present as her coat is changing. I wasn t sure if a small area between the back legs was very pale cream or possible white, difficult to tell so I gave her the benefit of the doubt today. Well mingled dark tortie coat with quite clear tabby markings. Very easy to handle and well presented for the show. 3 RD HARDWICK S RUTTERKIN TARYN QUECHAN (MCO f 03 22 (64 41ew)), F, 18.06.17 Classic Tortie-Tabby & White Maine Coon. Just old enough to be at the show and very unlucky to be up against the older girls today. She was so cute! Large ears, set about an ear s width apart on the head. For age, her head was very well developed, already showing good breadth with cheeks filling out. Eye colour is developing, currently green/gold in colour. Shallow concave curve to the nose. Square muzzle though slightly shorter overall when compared to the others in the class today. Firm chin, it could be just a touch deeper to really balance the rest of the head. Good long solid body, she was well grown for age with well boned limbs and paws. Tail balanced the body length, furnishings just starting to lengthen. Quite a full long baby coat, very attractive bold patches of red and brown tabby which contrasted very well with the white areas. White along the underbody, chest, bib, muzzle and feet with a longer white stocking going up the left leg. She took everything in her stride, a confident kitten who was well presented for the show. Page 5

AC COLOURPOINTED OR MITTED RAGDOLL KITTEN MALE 1 ST & BOB, JONES GROOVICATS HOBBES (RAG n (66)), M, 08.03.17 Seal Colourpointed Ragdoll. A large and deceptively heavy kitten with a good broad chest and long muscular body. Well boned limbs of medium length, large round paws. Bushy tail, well furnished and balancing the body length well. Very pleasing head shape, already showing good breadth with well developed cheeks and a rounded muzzle. Medium/large ears, set well apart with a flat plane between them. Large mid blue eyes, set slightly obliquely. Super nasal profile, gentle dip present and a really good slight retroussé at the tip. This profile attribute really is so lovely to see. Firm chin. Well developed dense silky coat or medium length, some slightly deeper beige top shading to the pale beige body at the moment. Seal points are deepening, already well developed to the ears and mask, with tail and limbs slightly paler. It was his eye colour, profile and coat that swung the BOB his way today. Beautifully groomed for the show. AC COLOURPOINTED OR MITTED RAGDOLL KITTEN FEMALE 1 ST DINSDALE S DIZZIPAWS TRULY SCRUPTIOUS (RAG a 04 (66aw)), F, 01.05.17 Blue Mitted Ragdoll. This female had a lovely strong feminine head of very good breadth for age with well filled cheeks leading to a well defined rounded muzzle. Large eyes, set in a good slight oblique set, pale to mid blue in colour the male had better eye colour today. Good gentle dip to the medium length nose. Firm chin. broad chest, long solid body, nicely boned limbs and paws. Bushy tail reaching the shoulders. Lovely full dense silky coat with ruff and knickerbockers, pale bluish white colour and showing contrast with the well developed bluish-grey points. Well marked mitted pattern. Super to handle and presented in lovely condition. 2 ND MORRIS S POSHPAWS MISTY (RAG a (66a)), F, 15.04.17 Blue Colourpointed Ragdoll. Another nice female, this girl shows good head breadth development with cheeks already well filled. Medium sized ears, set well apart and with a slightly forward tilt. Pale to mid blue coloured eyes, well opened and slightly obliquely set. Gentle dip to the nose, I wouldn t like to see the nose or muzzle any shorter at this age. Firm chin, it could be a little deeper to really balance the rest of the head. Lovely long weighty body, broad chest and nicely boned limbs and paws. Balanced bushy tail. Dense silky coat of medium length, ruff developing. Very good contrast between the mid/deep greyish blue points and the bluish white body. All points were quite even in depth except the limbs where the colour is still developing. Very easy to handle and assess. 3 RD EARLEY S GROOVICATS EVANGELINE (RAG a 04 21 (66atw)), F, 18.03.17 Blue Tabby Mitted Ragdoll. The oldest in the class and this girl is currently undergoing developmental changes between kittenhood and adulthood. Medium sized ears, set well apart, the area between them is very slightly domed rather than being a true flat plane at the moment as her head is still developing. Large mid blue eyes. Good gentle dip to the medium length nose, firm chin. overall, she is slightly smaller in substance when compared to the other two girls in the class today. Long body, in proportion to the head size, medium length limbs and round paws. Well furnished tail, just about reaching the shoulders. Currently between coats and consequently the coat was a little open in places today. It should look much better and increase in density once her new coat comes in. Well developed blue tabby points and she has a nicely marked mitted pattern which contrast with the bluish white body colour. There is some deeper toned top shading present, again this is probably due to the coat changes which are currently taking place. A very gentle girl, I look forward to seeing her again when her new coat comes in. Page 6

NORWEGIAN FOREST KITTEN 1 ST & BOB, UNWIN S ZIVANNAZ AULT JIMMY MCCOO (NFO ds 09 22), MN, 01.04.17 Classic Red Silver Tabby & White Norwegian Forest Cat. A very promising baby, he shows a very clear triangular head shape with very well furnished large ears, the outer edge of the ear follows the outer headlines. Good oblique set to oval shaped gold eyes. Long profile line, almost ruler straight, just showing a tiny change in direction about halfway down. Ideally the chin could be just a little firmer and deeper. Lovely long body, supported by well boned limbs, back legs slightly longer than the fronts. Tail length balanced the body well, reaching the shoulders and it was well furnished for age. Currently wearing his baby coat, he already has longer waterproof guardhairs present with some undercoat evident. Attractive red silver tabby with about one-third white including the limbs and face. I felt that he was a really nice baby with a lovely expression. RED, CREAM OR TORTIE POINT BIRMAN NEUTER MALE BOB, WILCOX S CH & UKOBIGP DALTEEMA TIFFANY TRUFFLE (SBI d (13c5)), FN, 06.02.07 Red Point Birman. A lovely large female who shows excellent Birman type. Strong broad rounded head with full round cheeks and a well developed muzzle. Impressive deep blue eye colour for a ten year old. Good slight dip to the nose. Full chin. Long heavy body, wonderful large boning to thick set limbs and short strong paws. Currently in full coat with a very well developed ruff. Bushy balanced tail. Some deeper red shading over the cream body, good contrast between the body and the rich red points. Nicely marked gloves and socks, full gauntlets which ended in a rounded shape, finishing below the hocks. A really lovely example of the breed. PC, BROWN S GR CH DALTEEMA FANTASIA (SBI j (13c10)), FN, 03.06.08 Lilac Tortie Point Birman. A deceptively heavy female with a long body and nicely boned limbs. Good broad rounded head with wide set ears of medium size. Large, almost round mid blue eyes. Good slight dip to the medium length nose, well developed muzzle. Full firm chin. Bushy tail, its length balanced the body well. Coat was very well developed for the time of year, quite full and feeling silky with a ruff around the neck. Off white body colour which showed very good contrast with the points. There was evidence of both lilac and cream to all points, although some of the limbs were predominantly cream based. Well marked gloves which ended below the limb/paw angle, nicely marked socks, rounded shape to gauntlets which finished about three-quarters of the way up to the hocks. 2 ND POOL S IGR CH SARMOYAH PRINCESS AURORA (SBI f (13c6)), FN, 26.03.12 Seal Tortie Point Birman. A beautiful mature female with a really strong broad feminine head. Wide set medium sized ears. Large expressive deep blue eyes, almost round in shape. Medium length nose with a slight dip in profile. Strong well developed muzzle, full round cheeks, firm chin. Long weighty body, very well boned limbs and paws. Bushy tail. Long silky coat, pale beige colour which contrasts very well with the mingled seal tortie points. Her front feet had well marked gloves, even length to socks on the back feet. Full gauntlets which ended below the hocks. Unfortunately she has an unjoined white spot at the hock level on the left back leg and this precluded her from winning today. Such a shame as she is truly beautiful. In another show hall where lighting isn t so bright, this may well not have been picked up. Very well presented for the show. I considered for BOB: JOHNSON S PR KENDALIAN PENDRAGO DRAKO (SBI d (13c5)), MN, 28.03.16 Red Point Birman. A real softie who really enjoys being cuddled and kissed. Large broad masculine head with well placed medium sized ears and full round cheeks. Nose shows a slight dip, bump present below the nasal bridge. I would like a little more depth and Page 7

strength to the chin. Large long body, well boned limbs, balanced bushy tail. Really full coat with warm red points and very well marked feet. KILBY S GR PR ESAYA DIE VALKYRIE (SBI f (13c6)), FN, 18.03.12 Seal Tortie Point Birman. This female has a lovely strong head of very good breath and rounded shape with full cheeks. Medium sized ears which sit well apart on the head. Large deep blue eyes. Chin could be a touch firmer and deeper for perfection. Large weighty body supported by very well boned limbs and short strong paws. Balanced bushy tail. Long pale beige coat, she is currently undergoing the seasonal moult and consequently it is a little open in places at the moment. Well mingled points and nicely marked feet. Very easy to handle. TABBY OR TORTIE-TABBY POINT BIRMAN NEUTER BOB, JOHNSON S CH & GR PR KITTAH PALINDROME AIRES (SBI n 21 (13c11)), MN, 28.03.16 Seal Tabby Point Birman. Eighteen months old and this young man had a really strong masculine head, rounded in shape with full round cheeks and a well developed muzzle. Wide set ears of good medium size, they balance the head well. Really lovely deep blue eyes, not quite round in shape. Nose of medium length with a slight dip present. Firm full chin. Long weighty body, he has a very solid feel. Well boned limbs of medium length, short strong paws. Bushy tail, its length was proportionate to the body. Really full winter coat, long and silky, some deeper beige top shading present to the body. Ruff present around the neck. Very good contrast between the seal tabby points and the beige body colour. Very pleasing feet markings all round. Beautifully presented for the show. PC, HAMILTON S ATAKAD ANOTHER ATTOYSHARL (SBI n 21 (13C11)), MN, 02.03.11 Seal Tabby Point Birman. Another large male, showing the maturity that you would expect at six years old. Medium sized ears, set wide apart on the large strong rounded head. Well filled round cheeks, nice muzzle shape leading to a full chin. Large eyes, almost round in shape. The eye colour was two toned with mid blue centres and slightly paler rims. Medium length nose, slight dip present. Large long heavy body, thick set limbs ending with short strong paws. Lovely bushy tail, its length balanced the body well. Beige coat of good length, though it felt a little harsher than the BOB winner s coat as he is currently undergoing a seasonal moult. Well marked seal tabby points which showed very good contrast with the body colour. He had well marked feet with gloves which ended just below the leg/paw angle, white socks covering the back feet and full gauntlets which tapered nicely. Easy to handle today. I also considered for BOB: MOTT S UK IGR CH & IGR GR PR JANDOUGLEN SEILEACH (SBI b 21 (13c13)), FN, 14.03.08 Chocolate Tabby Point Birman. Another really lovely exhibit, certainly worth of the BOB. A large female, nicely balanced with a good broad rounded skull and very pleasing head shape. Medium sized ears, they sit a little taller and closer than Aires s and today I preferred his ear set. Mid to deep blue eye colour, large well opened eyes which were almost round in shape. It really did come down to minor points to split these cats up and choose a BOB. Large solid body, substantial boning to limbs and paws. Balanced tail, well furnished with a bushy texture. Currently in full coat, pale ivory colour and contrasting with the chocolate tabby points and the well marked feet. With such lovely cats to judge, it s a shame that there is only one BOB available. Just out of kitten classes by a few days and as expected, he is still typically a little kittenish in looks. Quite large ears, set high and positioned about an ear s width apart on the head. Head of medium length with breadth developing and cheeks filling out. green eyes, large and bright, set in a slight oblique set. Shallow concave nasal curve. Square muzzle, chin could be a little firmer and deeper to really balance the rest of the head. Long body, nicely muscled and of rectangular shape. Quite large boning to medium length limbs, round tufted paws. Lovely tail all round, it easily reached the shoulders and was well furnished to give a flowing effect. Shorter coat at the moment as he is just starting to develop his adult coat, ruff just beginning to lengthen. It had a good glossy topcoat though not much undercoat evident at the moment. Nicely marked classic tabby pattern, though quite a pale beige agouti makes the overall brown tabby colour appear on the cooler side. Great to handle and well presented for the show. I considered for BOB: BURGESS S GR CH & PR KASSARO WASHINGTON (MCO n 03 22 (64 41w)), MN, 25.04.15 Classic Brown Tabby & White Maine Coon. I really like this boy s expression and head shape, he has large well furnished ears which sit high to give him an alert expression. Very long body though rather rangy at the moment and I feel that he needs a little time to fill out as his body is still a little narrow and adolescent. Beautifully presented glossy coat, rich warm brown tabby with white. DAVIES PR ANGLEZARKE BLUE JASPER (MCO a 03 22 (64 41aw)), MN, 16.12.12 Classic Blue Tabby & White Maine Coon. A large substantial male with a long body and well boned limbs. Tail was nicely furnished and balanced the body length. Good breadth to the head, muzzle is slightly narrower than Cisco s. developed full winter coat, generally nicely marked blue tabby, just a little solid down the spineline. White to lips, chin, underbody and feet. HOLDEN S PR ANGLEZARKE BLUE JOHN (MCO a 03 22 (64 41aw)), MN, 16.12.12 Classic Blue Tabby & White Maine Coon. Litter brother to the previous cat and very similar in many ways. He has a strong well developed head with clear headlines, chin just rounds off a touch at the end. Lovely substance to the long heavy body, very well boned legs and paws. Balanced tail which was very well furnished. Lots of coat present, classic tabby pattern is a little diffused in places, expected with this amount of coat. White dot on the nose, white present on the chin, chest, underbody and feet. WOODCOCK S CH & IGR PR BEARDWOOD LEONARDO DAVINCI (MCO n 03 22 (64 41w)), MN, 28.02.09 Classic Brown Tabby & White Maine Coon. This thirteen months old female was very well muscled and had a lovely long rectangular shaped body. Large ears, nicely furnished and set about an ear s width apart on the head. Medium length head, overall slightly longer than its breadth with cheeks filling out well. Tail was well furnished, tapering slightly towards the tip, tail length reached the shoulders. Medium length coat with some undercoat and a good covering of glossy guardhairs. Quite full breeches, some ruff present. Warm toned brown tabby with nicely marked classic pattern, pleasing level of white including all four feet and underbody. My Grand winner, reported above. RED, CREAM TORTIE TABBY OR TABBY & WHIE MAINE COON NEUTER PC & BOB, TIMPERLEY S ANGLEZARKE LADY GUINEVERE 9MCO f 03 22 (64 41ew)), FN, 10.08.16 Classic Tortie-Tabby & White Maine Coon. I can t say enough about the grooming and presentation on this female, it was truly outstanding and her coat felt amazing. Very well done to the owner on such fantastic show preparation, not a hair out of place. A really lovely female all round, she has a very well balanced head of medium length and very good breadth. Large ears, set about an ear s width apart, they are very well furnished with tips and tufts. Large well opened pale green eyes, set in a good slight oblique set. Shallow concave curve to the nose, square muzzle, chin quite firm and of nice depth. Rectangular shaped body, very weighty and substantial, large boning to medium length limbs and big round tufted paws. Long well furnished flowing tail, reaching the shoulders. Beautiful coat Page 10

all round, vibrant tortie, a combination of mingled areas and big patches of colour. Nicely marked classic tabby pattern, especially for a tortie. She had a full ruff framing the face, the coat is shorter over the shoulders and shows a variety of lengths down the back and sides of the body, ending with full breeches. White to chin, bib, chest, underbody and feet. I understand that this certificate made her up to premier, my congratulations to her owner and breeder. She won the BOB over the boys as I felt that she had the best overall balance of the three cats in the class today. I also considered: DAVIES PR ANGLEZARKE LAURENCE BEAR (MCO e 22 (64 41f)), MN, 08.12.13 Cream Tabby Maine Coon. A very gentle boy who was really easy to handle. Large ears, sitting high and sporting tips and tufts. Head of medium length with fairly full cheeks and a shallow concave curve to the nose. Large pale gold eyes. Muzzle is square in shape though could be a touch broader overall to really balance the top section of head. Long substantial body, well boned limbs and long tail. Lovely full winter coat, mid toned cream tabby, with ruff and breeches. UNWIN SS PR BADSWOTH CHEYSULI MCSIMPLY RED (MCO d 23), MN, 04.03.16 Red Mackerel Tabby Maine Coon. This male has a really rich vibrant red coat. Large ears, sitting about an ear s width apart on the head. His head is of good medium length with breadth developing. Large green/gold eyes. Good square shaped muzzle, chin was quite firm and fairly deep. Long muscular body, very well grown and his head now needs to catch up with the body. Well developed coat length, undercoat is covered with a longer glossy topcoat. The mackerel pattern is a little diffused at the moment, hopefully it will clear more as he matures. Very easy to handle. SIBERIAN NEUTER Two really lovely females competing for BOB today. BOB, NORMAN S IGR PR BELKATON SOPHIA (SIB f 21 (82 20e)), FN, 23.09.14 Tortie-Tabby Siberian. Lovely breadth to the head with a short broad wedge and broad low set cheek bones. Broad rounded muzzle, slightly rounded chin. Medium sized ears with rounded tips, they sit wide apart on the head. Good slight concave curve to the nose. Luminous pale green eyes, they stand out against the warm tortie tabby coat. Deceptively heavy muscular body with well boned limbs and paws. Well furnished tail, broad at the base and tapering slightly towards the tip. Well developed coat with a soft dense undercoat and good slightly coarser waterproof topcoat. Ruff and full breeches present. It was this coat texture that won her the BOB over her stablemate today. I also considered: NORMAN & MAXFIELD S GR PR BELKATON PUSHKA TATANYA (SIB ns 22 (82 41s)), FN, 06.10.15 Classic Silver Tabby Siberian. This girl had lovely size and substance with well boned limbs and a balanced tail which was well furnished. Large strong head with very good breadth and contours connecting the low set cheeks to the rounded muzzle and chin. Medium sized ears, set wide apart. Slightly oval shaped green eyes. Weighty body of very good length and in balance with the head size. Substantial boning to legs and paws. Well furnished tail. Lots of dense undercoat present, guardhairs of good length though Sophia had the edge on topcoat texture today. With two super girls who both show very pleasing type and balance, it all came down to the slight difference in coat texture to determine the BOB today. Miss Norman is very lucky to have these two beautiful females. I must add that Tatanya has the most delightful temperament, she constantly head butted and rubbed us all the time she was out. A true delight to handle and she obviously enjoys all the attention. Page 11
