I belong to the Guide Dogs for the Blind Fort Worth Puppy Raising Club. I have been raising puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind for the last four years. My husband and I have lived in Arlington for the last 20 years and I work at Pantego Christian Academy. Besides working full time and puppy raising, I am an active member of Trinity United Methodist church. I love being a puppy raiser and being able to help others in a very personal and profound way. One of the phrases you hear associated with puppy raising is Raise a puppy, change a life and I have found that to be very true, for both the person who is blind that receives a guide and also for myself. I plan on giving a short history of GDB and then talk about puppy raising. I will have my current puppy that I am raising, December (a black lab), with me and will demonstrate some of the things that she has learned. 1
