ALL PAWS RESCUE NEWSLETTER! SAVING ANIMALS, ONE LIFE AT A TIME AUGUST 2016 All Paws Rescue is a volunteer based animal rescue group serving primarily the Region of Peel, but ever expanding. In July we reached a milestone surpassing 4000 members on our Facebook Group - All Paws Rescue Group! We are so grateful for all the support from our members. We have a no animal left behind policy meaning unless a licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine deems it necessary for medical reasons, we do not euthanize! About Our Founder: All Paws Rescue was founded in 2013 by Michelle Victoria Borg, a lifelong animal lover and advocate. Michelle took in her first stray cat at the tender age of 7 and has been caring for stray and injured animals since. Years later a friend needed assistance re-homing their dog Koda. The love, joy and passion Michelle felt helping Koda find his forever home inspired Michelle to follow her lifelong dream to save more animals......and So began All Paws Rescue! The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated. Mahatma Gandhi In This Issue A look back to July! Upcoming events for August! A look back at July 2016! July was a very busy month! We are pleased to say that 29 animals found their forever homes this month. Thank you to our donors, our foster parents, our volunteers and all our team. Without your ongoing efforts we could never accomplish this for our furry friends. We were proud to welcome our 4000th member this month! ***** Our Online Auction hosted by Candice Pacheco was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who donated items, who bid on items and also to Candice for all the time and effort that went in to this event! We are happy to announce that over $900 was raised for our Rescue animals! ***** July 9th we held an Adopt-a thon at our partner Pet Valu store at Shopper s World. It was a fun day with 7 adoptions, yummy sweet treats, raffle, animal items for sale, face painting and lots of other fun stuff. We were able to raise over $1200! Thank you to Janice, the store staff and owners for all their help with this event. We would also like to thank our All Paws Rescue volunteers including DJ Stormin Norman Savaille from New Age Country Entertainment for a toe tapping, foot stomping good time. If you have never checked out one of our Adopt-athons please mark our next one on your calendar! There is fun for the entire family. ***** We are thrilled to announce that our newest Pet Valu partner is: Raj s Pet Valu #15-2400 Dundas St W, Mississauga ON L5K 2R8 (Dundas and Erin Mills) ***** On July 23, 2016 we were honoured to be the Charity Recipient of the Dog Days of Summer with Hogs and Heroes bike Event. Thank you to our awesome volunteers who went out to represent the Rescue at this event! Thank you so much to the organizers for making All Paws Rescue the charity of choice!

Making a difference It s so rewarding to know that we not only do great work helping the animals in our Community, but also the people. This is a note we received from a grateful parent. This is something I have to share! My 4 year old daughter lives with an anxiety disorder and since I started volunteering with All Paws and bringing her to the Pet Valu at Heart Lake Plaza I ve noticed so many improvements with her. She seems to have a real connection with any cat that comes into the store. Today was a really rough day for her and even though we weren't scheduled to go in we took a trip to visit Raquel and Phoebe and within a minute of being with them her whole attitude changed. So Michelle Victoria, I know you've had a rough time lately. I want you to know how much you and the Rescue mean to my family. You're not only changing the lives of these sweet animals, you've helped us find a coping mechanism for my daughter therefore you've helped improve her life as well. For that, from the bottom of my heart I thank you SWEET SHAYNA

Featured Pet for August! Meet Boots! This 12 year old Siamese cutie was surrendered to the Rescue by his owners and is now searching for a forever home. He is great with kids but has not been around other animals. Boots needs 2 insulin injections a day and requires a special diet for his diabetes. He is a cuddly guy and deserves a home that will give him all the love he needs. Boots is Diabetic and needs a special owner! Adoption fee : $100 Don t forget that our Bottles for Furbabies bottle drive is a year round program. It is so convenient for you as we will come right to your home to pick up your empties! We ll pick up from your neighbours too if you get them involved! Out of town but would like to help? Return your empties and e-transfer the amount to bottledrive@allpawsrescue.ca For July, the generous donations of these items raised $155 For our Rescue animals!

Volunteers always welcome! With so many animals to care for in our Rescue and with so much need still out there we are always happy to welcome new volunteers to our team. Here are some opportunities that we have available now..
