Park Facility Public Comment Comment received Pioneer Park, Pavilion and Activity Center Keep skateboards and bikes out! They are destroying the surfaces and running into folks. 07.25.13 open house Pioneer Park, Pavilion and Activity Center Pioneer Park, Pavilion and Activity Center Pioneer Park, Pavilion and Activity Center Pioneer Park, Pavilion and Activity Center Sam Peach Park (Concerned Senior) Don t take our parking away!! Keep our parking! (2X) I m a long time citizen Puyallup is my home. Keep parking for seniors at our location. Need parking in a contained downtown location. How many people know parking at City Hall is free? Put spray-park at Grayland. Crosswalk at 4 th and Meridian (is a) blind spot at corner when cars are parked on Meridian. 07.25.13 open house 07.25.13 open house 07.25.13 open house 07.25.13 open house No basketball hoops at this park in the future Need better dog enforcement (offleash 07.25.13 open house concerns) Sam Peach Park Keep as a walking park 07.25.13 open house Sam Peach Park 1. On the topic of parking: there are a number of areas (opportunities) that are not fully exploited which are very near the park. 2. I believe that the opportunity for baseball for children is a valuable attribute of the park. 3. From time to time, parking choices present a safety concern. 4. I think the park is a very real financial asset to me. I think my neighbors have a similar bias. 5. The walking path surrounding the park perimeter is a valuable feature & is used often by folks of all ages. 07.25.13 open house

A possible option for providing additional parking might be expanding the present parking lot. More bicycle police (patrols) needed The city should buy some property east of Shaw Road for a park. I d vote for it! Clear more vegetation. Add a spray-park (at the Rec Center site)! Please clean the tennis courts Get into an agreement with the City of Edgewood!!* *No reference to what type of agreement 07.25.13 open house 07.25.13 open house 07.25.13 open house 07.25.13 open house 07.25.13 open house 07.25.13 open house

PUBLIC COMMENT SUMMARY 09.26.13 OPEN HOUSE ZONE #2 PARKS Park Facility Public Comment Comment received Brown Community Enforce leash laws. 09.26.13 open house Garden Park Play field for children Would be nice if all the garden plots looked uniform; i.e. same fencing around looks tacky right now, not very eye appealing Is there signage on the entry & exit of the walking trail? If not, this would be helpful & safer Gravel on some of the paths that are at a steep incline (or) decline DeCoursey Park Offer signage regarding the wild birds that frequent the pond 1/2 court basketball at DeCoursey or Clarks Creek North Remove the ugly and inviting fishing docks Clean up of vegetation Remove the orange plastic fencing, please 09.26.13 open house Clarks Creek Parks (North and South) Another dog park, so one park could accommodate large dogs, another for small dogs only Keep foliage and downed trees in the creek to control erosion caused by DOGS in the creek Restore path along creek at Clarks Creek North New maintenance roadway and path not compatible with wheelchairs, walkers, (oxygen) carts, bikes, strollers Very glad to see tennis court improvements proposed hopefully sooner than later Close off access to the creek by planting trees at creek s edge (Lots of dogs in the creek Pull dead tree out of creek remove all foliage from the creek to prevent flooding (Not just elodea) Continue getting weeds out of creek every year 09.26.13 open house 1 P a g e

PUBLIC COMMENT SUMMARY 09.26.13 OPEN HOUSE ZONE #2 PARKS Silver Creek Site Dead Man s Pond Trim broken trees in creek near bridge south Trim back foliage around creek area, especially the stuff left over from the ice storm We really need to have a post (or 2!) supplying dog walkers with scoop bags. Unfortunately, there are many dog walkers who don t pick up after their dogs. This leads to pollution and not a nice trail. The culvert is full of silt, it needs to be cleaned out I am noticing large trees growing by 11 th Street SW (by Silver Creek and Meeker Ditch) which will soon be huge (Alders, hazelnut) These need to be cut/managed Get the water to move Get the standing water moving Keep it the same, it s full of wildlife NO public allowed, fence off endangered area. Use fire (access) road for trail and fence the entire area. (Dead Man s Pond) should be a category I (wetland) according to state WAC code Please leave it as it is a wildlife area & green No fishing access, fence off area Any development will compromise wildlife Leave it natural you can t improve upon nature Keep the area natural limited access too many endangered species need the sanctuary (eagles, herons, turtles, etc.) Save the endangered area!!! And the western pond turtle! Dead Man s Pond concerns: pollution of pond, loitering (I) will legally engage any plan that has a potential negative effect on the water quality of the Puyallup watershed and ruin one of the only open spaces in this area Private ownership of the pond will join class action lawsuit if (the plan proposes) polluting the water supply 09.26.13 open house 09.26.13 open house 2 P a g e

PUBLIC COMMENT SUMMARY 09.26.13 OPEN HOUSE ZONE #2 PARKS No camping! Leave it as is. Any development will pollute the pond with lawsuits to go with Our attorney has advised us to contact him if there is any attempted development of this area Concerns: development impacting pond eco-system; added runoff due to impervious surfaces; increased trespassing, crime and vandalism; traffic impacts; parking; garbage, parking lot drug deals, light pollution, security, speeding; after hours vagrants; decreased open space; property owner rights diminishing Leave it alone, let the pond be natural Entire neighborhood is united to bring legal action to any development of such a fragile area in the form of a singular and class action law suit Please have a look at the cottonwoods and maples growing along the property line (south of) 19 th Street SW. They have become a falling hazard and need to be taken down Do not mess with turtle (Mell) he wants no public access to this area Old growth is present western pond turtle is still present 30 wide city (right-of-way) at 19 th and 14 th we do not want a hiking path behind our home in the (right-of-way) that we have been maintaining for 40 years Broadening Puyallup watershed area would bring no positive benefit to any development, plus ruining the natural environment and animals would die The state wants to use this pond as an incubator site in conjunction with Woodland Pond to further the breeding of the western pond turtle. The owners of the pond are supportive of this idea Puyallup Tribe would be involved in inevitable pollution of Clarks Creek, Puyallup River and bay 3 P a g e

PUBLIC COMMENT SUMMARY 09.26.13 OPEN HOUSE ZONE #2 PARKS Any development would compromise wild life, property values and inevitable law suits that the neighborhood would mount Mel (the turtle) would go ballistic and that is something no one should be exposed to he can be very irrational and not totally sane when pissed 4 P a g e

PUBLIC COMMENT SUMMARY 11.21.13 OPEN HOUSE ZONE #3 PARKS Park Facility Public Comment Comment received Bradley Lake No spraypark (Bradley Lake) is a nature park This park was supposed to be natural; what happened? Complete the path from Wildwood Drive to park Due[sic] prudent thinning to make remaining trees strong Poor place for spray park! Way too crowded! Use Lowe s parking lot! Corporate citizens don t contribute Ask Lowes to let us use their parking lot and put an access trail to park Trail in forest here floods during high rain Splash pads are great but not here, too much going on already Lowe s speaker system should not be allowed you can hear it over ½ the park Needs a walking bridge across the lake No splashpad here! It s too busy already! No remote control planes they fly over lake and chase waterfowl Lowes tree planting has failed make them replant Use business park parking lot corporate contribution Too many geese Buy the corner property across the street if you need more parking Excellent multi-use park could there possibly be an enclosed area for a dog park? Use parking lot in old microchip plant Preserve remaining wetland consider banning boats water birds have no refuge if only 1 canoe is on lake Replace trees blown down! tree down over trail near business park 11.21.13 open house Manorwood Park Park does not need irrigation We need a gate in front of the parking lot 11.21.13 open house 1 P a g e

PUBLIC COMMENT SUMMARY 11.21.13 OPEN HOUSE ZONE #3 PARKS Picnic table with BBQ (needed) Thanks for barricade so vehicles can t tear up grass thanks also for pet refuse bags; always well stocked! More topsoil in grassy area rocks below surface very unsafe Please look at maintaining storm drainage pond adjacent to park needs attention Rainierwoods Park Soccer pitch along with football field Cross(walk) with lights across Cherokee Wildwood Park More parking for baseball games Create a Friends of Wildwood Park group use the park more for nature education field trips, etc. Patrol park in marked cars regularly. People are afraid. Why are so many mature maples dying in Wildwood? I don t like the road closure in the park that has turned into an off-leash park on its own What are the plans to reduce ivy? Improve some trails preserve the forest Remove the most unused shelters & maintain the others better Wildwood dog park Yes to an obstacle course for dogs! Keep the wild in Wildwood, no need for domestic dog park. There s little enough woodland as is Sidewalk access along 17 th and 9 th is poor where would people park (for the dog park) Walking along 17 th is not great lack of sidewalk need to have good walking access to dog park Seating area? Benches! How much $? Who s going to pay for it? Concern water contamination from dog park on water supply If a dog park is installed, an obstacle course would be nice 11.21.13 open house 11.21.13 open house 2 P a g e

Q7. 6-B. Please describe why you are satisfied or disappointed with the condition of the city's park facilities (provide specific examples if possible) 1 Recent visit to Wildwood found evidence of drug use from hypodermic needles on ground to scattered foils, Jan 8, 2014 11:15 AM 2 Puyallup Rec Center Is Pretty Cool. Jan 6, 2014 8:59 PM 3 Overall very happy! Jan 6, 2014 12:06 PM 4 Grassy areas stay pretty wet in Pioneer and Bradley Lake for a long time. Jan 5, 2014 3:30 PM 5 The new pavilion serves Puyallup very well for the Farmer's Market and pancake breakfast, etc., and we love to picnic at Pioneer Park because it is a lovely open space inside the downtown and well-patrolled by the police. We need more open spaces just like it, and would love to see some abandoned residential lots become open space parks with benches and minimal maintenance required. The Rec Center would serve Puyallup better to run VERY LOW COST ($2 to $5) kids programs to increase its use and affordability; we were not able to afford programs for our children there when they were little. We had high hopes for Bradley Lake Park as a semi-wild area, but were very disappointed when it was developed with a playground and such. We would very much appreciate more wild areas with simply benches or tables for families who love to picnic or just enjoy the outdoors, and we are thankful for the Silver Creek project and its volunteers. 6 The river trail could use more rest stops and benches around the area, especially picnic tables. The trail around Bradley Lake Park is almost always full of litter. Most parks need more shaded areas in or around the play structures. 7 appear to be clean and well kept. Availability of garbage cans and frequency of emptying recepticles is an issue during busy times. 8 Parks are kept clean, especially considering the volume of people using them. Easy access for strollers. Jan 3, 2014 11:43 AM Jan 3, 2014 10:25 AM Dec 27, 2013 8:35 AM Dec 18, 2013 4:25 AM 9 Lack of lighting and overgrowth makes parks hiding places for crime. Dec 15, 2013 9:46 AM 10 Lack of parking Dec 12, 2013 3:21 PM 11 would like one in walking distance of my home Dec 12, 2013 10:29 AM 12 Nice playgrounds to play on. Nice paths to ride my bike. I wish there was a place for my dog to play at Bradley Lake park. I'm excited about the spray park coming next summer. Dec 12, 2013 10:09 AM 13 Not enough large field, open spaces for play, no all weather play areas Dec 12, 2013 10:01 AM 14 The worst and most inconvenient so far are Bradley lake. there is not enough facilities for the amount of people there and what is there is dirty. Dec 12, 2013 9:46 AM 15 Clean restrooms, groomed trails Dec 12, 2013 9:31 AM 16 More versatile playground equipment that promotes imaginative play. Dec 12, 2013 8:43 AM 17 Decoursey park. Q7. 6-B. Please describe why you are satisfied or disappointed with the condition of the city's park facilities (provide specific examples if possible) unnatural and invite trouble. Please, please, please put together a plan to provide for future expansion of gym capacity. We have very little capacity / user compared to other cities. We have nothing to offer the users in south end of the city. I am very much against the spray park idea. This is a lot of money for a very few hours/days where this facility is really used. Please distribute new money into facilities that will provide maximum usage to maximum users. 18 Well maintained and clean. Particularly impressed with how soon the parks are cleaned up following an event. 19 The grounds at Clark's Creek Park/Decoursey are well kept and clean. I do not use the bathrooms very often but when I have they seemed unequipped and unclean. I find the city parks on a whole very beautiful and accessible. The tiny Silver Creek property would benefit with a post, holding doggy bags for people walking their dogs through there. I've avoided it lately as people don't clean up after their dogs. 20 More bathrooms needed in Pioneer Park, don't make us go all the way into the library 21 ivy needs to be removed among the large riverwalk trail trees. During fishing season incredible amount of plastic debris in the river. I cleaned it, some fishermen claim to have cleaned, Trout Unltd people cleaned it, but it just comes back week after week. A program to help educate fishers to take their trash esp. fishing line and hooks with them when they leave would be great, as well as organized cleanups. If you make it happen, I'm there. Nov 13, 2013 4:56 PM 27 I love the NEW residents at Wildwood Park. I am thrilled there is someone to look after this park. 28 love all the parks i have been too. You need more areas for off leash dog parks and soccer fields would be great too. Nov 11, 2013 11:56 AM Nov 5, 2013 2:16 PM 29 Rec center has been neglicted. Nov 2, 2013 1:55 PM 30 Most things are in good condition there. More things to do at the park (a tennis court is a good example) would improve it. 31 The park playground could use some upkeep due to unfortunate vandalism at Clarks Creek Park. 32 outdated wading pool at Pioneer... would love to see a water splash pad there like in Tacoma Oct 16, 2013 9:46 AM Oct 10, 2013 6:37 AM Oct 7, 2013 5:33 PM 4 of 8

Q7. 6-B. Please describe why you are satisfied or disappointed with the condition of the city's park facilities (provide specific examples if possible) 33 Enlarge or build another restroom in Pioneer Park Oct 3, 2013 9:02 AM 34 The DeCoursey park facility is misused. The area has a history of being an area for fishing and feeding the ducks, both of which create issues for the park. Please consider removing the floating docks. They invite people to feed the birds and cause issues. The docks are ugly and do not fit in with the natural look of the setting. Also, consider promoting the area as a natural area for watching salmon and birds. 35 brown property doesn't need more fenced in gardens as private property. open space!!! Sep 26, 2013 1:42 PM Sep 21, 2013 3:41 PM 36 Well maintained. Clean. Sep 19, 2013 6:02 PM 37 None Sep 19, 2013 8:39 AM 38 Typically, there are too few parking spots at the park facilities. Bradley Lake is a good example of this. But this is also due to the popularity of the park. Fortunately, there is street parking too complement the overflow. 39 Riparian zone improvements are excellent. Indoor facilities are nice. Tennis courts need resurfacing. Need outdoor basketball courts at Clark's Creek, Wildwood or Bradley Lake, Van Lierop, Sam Peach. Sep 19, 2013 6:45 AM Sep 17, 2013 8:57 AM 40 Nice trails for walking the dog. Sep 16, 2013 4:04 PM 41 Normally these parks are clean and ready for use. Sep 15, 2013 3:17 PM 42 DeCoursey Park and Clarks Creek north and South need clean up. Not fun to get swatted by blackberries and other branches. 43 Parks seemed to be maintained well. I like the work that is being done at DeCoursey park to deter the ducks. Sep 14, 2013 9:53 AM Sep 13, 2013 5:12 PM 44 The parks are clean and well maintained Sep 11, 2013 6:18 PM 45 Park facilities are well maintained, Aug 27, 2013 4:11 AM 46 With the exception of the Recreation Center, all facilities are very well maintained and always in clean condition. 47 I take my grandchildren but I have been taking them to Fife lately due to feeling unsafe. Especially at Pioneer Park. 48 PLay equipment can be dirty, worn and sometimes broken. The number of parks with much play equipment is very nice for my family with a small child. Aug 26, 2013 7:56 AM Aug 25, 2013 9:55 PM Aug 22, 2013 9:52 AM 49 good condtion. Nice access Aug 22, 2013 9:03 AM 50 I'm thankful we have park facilities, but the Recreation Center is not very appealing as a gym. It's run down, doesn't have a lot of machines available, and it's not that convenient to work out unless my son has soccer practice there. I have a membership to LA Fitness (for $159/year) and the facilities are beautiful Aug 19, 2013 1:49 PM 5 of 8

Q7. 6-B. Please describe why you are satisfied or disappointed with the condition of the city's park facilities (provide specific examples if possible) there. 51 Most are in great shape. Toy structures for kids are aged at several parksmainly Pioneer and Decoursey. Aug 15, 2013 8:36 PM 52 Keeped well maintained. Aug 15, 2013 3:04 PM 53 Remove graffiti from play toys Aug 15, 2013 12:08 PM 54 the larger parks have vegetation areas sometimes occupied by homeless and drug addicts 55 I appreciate the effort that is put into maintaining the parks to keep them in such clean and usable condition Aug 15, 2013 11:18 AM Aug 15, 2013 10:27 AM 56 The ones I frequent seem well maintained and clean. Aug 9, 2013 6:36 PM 57 Movie are to late at night Aug 8, 2013 12:33 PM 58 Parks in Puyallup are generally well maintained however they could use stricter enforcement of dog poop rules. 59 For the most part the parks are kept up well and are safe. There are a few places where I don't feel comfortable taking my children after a certain hour. 60 Love puyallup parks, just wish people were better about picking up after their dogs. 61 Bradley Lake park has the best children's toys. Pioneer Park is could use more children's toys especially being right outside the library. Wildwood park is perfect just the way it is 62 Usually clean and kept up. Wildwood is beautiful but scary as well as up high in Clark Creek. A lot of drug use and used needles found in the area. Sad. 63 Bradley Lake Park is way too overcrowded to enjoy. Also, we really need a spraypark! 64 South Hill Little League needs more ball fields. It's sad that Puyallup Parks and Rec can't/won't help them out. 65 We frequent grayland and pioneer the most and find they are both nice and kept clean. 66 Park facilities vary greatly. The play equip at Pioneer is very old, as is the equip at DeCoursey. Wildwood park toys tend to retain water and gross moss/mildew quickly. Bradley Lake toys are great, but the park is crowded, so we often avoid it. We also like Clark's Creek park, but there are no shady places directly around the play structure. You have to sit away to find shade, which compromises supervision. Also, many parks have inadequate play surface (need gravel or chips replaced. They are too low and there are bare patches of ground visible.) Q7. 6-B. Please describe why you are satisfied or disappointed with the condition of the city's park facilities (provide specific examples if possible) structures, one for young children, the other for older children (Bradley Lake and Graylands) 68 Would like to see more walking and bike trails Aug 1, 2013 10:40 AM 69 The parking Is Limited AT Bradley. Restrooms Are Small Jul 31, 2013 7:39 PM 70 River Walk is overgrown and is in the need of more Police presence. Restrooms on the Sumner end of the walk. 71 Don't duplicate provisions provided at Schools, ensure district allowed access to spaces.ý Jul 29, 2013 7:32 AM Jul 28, 2013 8:10 AM 72 Very clean, and great social climate. Jul 26, 2013 4:42 PM 73 the landscaping has been neglected lately especially noticed around the library, city hall and pioneer park. The grass has not been fertilized like usual, clover, the weeds are huge around city hall and are ruining the landscaping and weed wacking near the library has destroyed landscaping. The temporary fence around the tree that was planted in Pioneer park has been there for 11/2 years now, time to come down. 74 Skate park has graffiti, is behind buildings therefore out of site, out of mind and begs to become a drug dealer's haven. 75 Disappointed in the out of date wade pools. Would love to see more splash pads like those in Seattle at the metro parks. 76 From my experience, the facilities at the hub of the city are satisfying. They are excellent locations of multiple activities and appear to be kept up well. The Puyallup Activity Center serves numerous audiences and appears wellmaintained. 77 Puyallup's parks facilities are well maintained, clean, and provide active opportunities for the community. In addition, Pioneer Park and the Pavilion provide multi-use functions as a park, farmers market, and other community events. 78 well manicured/locations of each park and facility is possible for our local schools and business to use for family and business events. 79 I think the Park staff could be more into picking up trash and mowing the parks grass..they seem to just run over the area..leaving all kinds of track marks Jul 26, 2013 12:31 PM Jul 24, 2013 4:01 PM Jul 24, 2013 2:07 PM Jul 23, 2013 2:23 PM Jul 23, 2013 2:00 PM Jul 22, 2013 8:57 PM Jul 22, 2013 8:12 PM 80 Parking@ Sam Peach could be better! Jul 22, 2013 5:38 PM 81 Puyallup is fortunate to have lots of parks with different atmospheres. I have always found our parks to be clean and have good facilities. Jul 22, 2013 10:25 AM 82 Not enough Dog bags in Pioneer Park or the pavillion, many other parks as well. Jul 22, 2013 10:09 AM 83 The grass and landscaping is always kept up really well. The play equipment always seems maintained despite acts of vandalism. Pioneer Park is very Jul 22, 2013 8:57 AM 7 of 8

Q9. 7-B. Please describe why you are satisfied or disappointed with the number, location, and distribution of park facilities throughout the city (please provide specific examples if possible) 1 the Southeast quadrant of the city is lacking in parks on the Valley floor. Jan 8, 2014 11:15 AM 2 I ThinI There Are A Good Number Of Parks. Jan 6, 2014 8:59 PM 3 I think we have PLENTY of parks with different options at each one. Jan 6, 2014 12:06 PM 4 There are enough, but we need more Off leash dog park areas. REAL ones, not the sand pit we currently call a dog park. Jan 5, 2014 3:30 PM 5 We need more semi-wild areas, and areas just for picnicking...not playgrounds. Jan 3, 2014 11:43 AM 6 I have two parks within walking distance of my house, which is nice. However, I'd really like to have a dog park around that I can take my dogs to. 7 I appreciate how well the parks are maintained by the city. I am lucky to live right next to Clark's Creek park. It would be nice to have some sort of tennis/basketball courts in the south end of the park. 8 more, clean, safe, parks should be available in a city like Puyallup. There should be more public spaces for sports complexes and soccer lit soccer fields. Jan 3, 2014 10:25 AM Jan 2, 2014 12:11 PM Dec 27, 2013 8:35 AM 9 Would love to see more public park facitlties Dec 26, 2013 8:57 AM 10 I do wish there were more Dog park options. Dec 18, 2013 4:25 AM 11 Close by Dec 12, 2013 3:21 PM 12 would like one closer to my house, would like trails or bike lanes going from park to park. Puyallup River should be built up and be a park/destination. NO indoor parks, pools or other indoor areas would be great. Dec 12, 2013 10:29 AM 13 More please. Dec 12, 2013 10:09 AM 14 Not enough gyms, facilities, or fields to run leagues for adult and youth. No allweather outdoor facility. Most parks are set up for little kids or walking. Seems like the largest parks are wooded and for walking/running only. 15 I'm happy for the most part. I wish the sports complex was downtown and not on Valley Ave. 16 Please, please, please put together a plan to provide for future expansion of gym capacity. We have very little capacity / user compared to other cities. We have nothing to offer the users in south end of the city. 17 I am satisfied with the parks but wish there was a dog park for small dogs only, in which the dogs could run around on grass and not just on mud. Dec 12, 2013 10:01 AM Dec 12, 2013 9:46 AM Dec 1, 2013 10:30 AM Nov 29, 2013 7:48 PM 18 I am lucky that 2 of the best parks are within walking distance. Nov 21, 2013 1:05 PM 19 no park in the eastern part of the city Nov 20, 2013 7:50 PM 20 No indication of city support of Centennial Park around Meeker Mansion Nov 19, 2013 4:39 PM 3 of 7

Q9. 7-B. Please describe why you are satisfied or disappointed with the number, location, and distribution of park facilities throughout the city (please provide specific examples if possible) 21 Parks are one of the most important things in a community. Bradley Lake was a Godsend. It's well used and we need more of them. Nov 18, 2013 9:24 PM 22 There are more than enough and some are under utilized. Nov 14, 2013 5:03 PM 23 I enjoy what is available. I suppose more ballparks outside of residential areas would be a positive addition. Nov 13, 2013 4:56 PM 24 Feel we have wonderful facilities that are well cared for and patrolled. Nov 11, 2013 11:56 AM 25 puyallup has almost too many parks now. But puyallup is lacking soccer fields. Nov 5, 2013 2:16 PM 26 The city has plenty of park space, but may have a problem with its usage of the space. Nov 2, 2013 1:55 PM 27 adequate space Oct 16, 2013 8:46 PM 28 Lots of parks around me and near me. Oct 16, 2013 9:46 AM 29 In the Puyallup Valley, there are several parks to choose from -- we are very fortunate! 30 South Hill Puyallup had no parks when I lived there for 18 years... I love having parks for my grandkids. Oct 10, 2013 6:37 AM Oct 7, 2013 5:33 PM 31 Would like to see more parks as it becomes possible. Oct 5, 2013 1:15 PM 32 We desperately need central locations for soccer and baseball. They can better handle the increasing demand and are less expensive to maintain. The 1 or 2 ball fields at several locationsthe creates maintenance and parking issues. We also need additional gym capacity. This is the northwest, so indoor facilities are especially important. We have virtually only one gym facility and it is located on the extreme north side of the city. Sep 26, 2013 1:42 PM 33 nothing on SE side of town Sep 24, 2013 6:29 PM 34 Lovely variety from natural to heavy use for big grouos Sep 19, 2013 8:39 AM 35 Our family previously lived in Renton and had the benefit of the King County Park system. We were spoiled with recreation areas such as Wilson Playfields and Duthie Hill Bike Park. These are two examples of amazing facilities which the Puyallup community could benefit from. There is a large mountain bike community in Puyallup and would benefit from a bike park and would volunteer their services to build and maintain. Similarly, sports like soccer and baseball would flourish more with a larger participation if lighted, well drained playfields existed in Puyallup. 36 1) We need soccer fields! Puyallup is backwards not having soccer fields. Soccer is the most popular rec sport for kids nowadays, and fields would bring in business from all over, and give our families a new center of community. 2) We need a park in the Shaw/Meeker area. 3) Don't add splash park at Pioneer Park because it'll be too packed, too mixed between kids needing supervision due to traffic and teens/street folk hanging out and lack of parking/room during events Sep 19, 2013 6:45 AM Sep 17, 2013 8:57 AM 4 of 7

Q9. 7-B. Please describe why you are satisfied or disappointed with the number, location, and distribution of park facilities throughout the city (please provide specific examples if possible) like farmer's market. Farmer's market is great, btw. Put splash park at the Rec Center because you'll need to accommodate many people from Edgewood, Fife, South Hill, Sumner, etc. 37 No problems with any of the above Sep 16, 2013 4:04 PM 38 There are a few green belts to take advantage of for families and pet owners Sep 15, 2013 3:17 PM 39 All parks are accessible, especially Bradley Park that seems to attract a lot of South Hill residents. Sep 13, 2013 5:12 PM 40 I can walk to a handful of parks and I really am grateful for that ability. Sep 3, 2013 7:45 PM 41 I would like to see additional sports fields for various uses. Aug 27, 2013 4:11 AM 42 Wish we could have more smaller neighborhood parks and that can be voluntarily maintained by the citizens who live in that area. 43 From where I live I can walk easily to 4 parks (Wildwood, Bradley, Manorwood and Rainier Woods). My area is very well served by parks. Northeast section of town however needs park facilities. 44 The parks we have in general are good. (Not much thought is being made though in allowing the extra builing on South Hill (near bradley lake...there was some great green space that could expand the park (instead of Lowes and Group Health, etc)...this needs to be thought about now! (Now we have another empty building (old Lowes) in addition to the old lumber yard...those spaces could and should be remodeled instead of allowing such green space to be taken over! Aug 26, 2013 10:30 AM Aug 26, 2013 7:56 AM Aug 25, 2013 11:57 AM 45 Not sufficient soccer fields. No park in SE Puyallup Aug 22, 2013 9:03 AM 46 The number and locations are fine, but there is a dismal lack of facilities such as indoor tennis courts or indoor soccer fields. I have to travel all the way to Sprinker to play tennis. I don't mind the fees, but it has to be convenient. 47 Very even and very balanced. Bradley Lake park getting too crowded and private groups or nonprofits should not be allowed to take over public parks. 48 It would be nice if Wildwood was developed to feel more safe, that's a huge area that could be put to better use 49 I frequent the downtown area and Bradely Lake park the most because they are close to my house. Some of the parks on the list, toward the bottom of my ranking, I did not even know about. Aug 19, 2013 1:49 PM Aug 15, 2013 8:36 PM Aug 15, 2013 10:27 AM Aug 9, 2013 6:36 PM 50 Bradley park is the way they should all be Aug 8, 2013 12:33 PM 51 The parks we have are well distributed and there a good number. There is however a great need for soccer fields. 52 Since I moved here 20 years ago Puyallup's park system has grown substantially and I am pleased with that growth. The parks are located Aug 7, 2013 1:05 PM Aug 7, 2013 8:29 AM 5 of 7

Q9. 7-B. Please describe why you are satisfied or disappointed with the number, location, and distribution of park facilities throughout the city (please provide specific examples if possible) throughout the city in appropriate fashion. 53 If we are downtown, we can go to a park, if we are on the hill, we can go to a park. Aug 4, 2013 6:23 AM 54 We need a spraypark!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aug 1, 2013 5:53 PM 55 More baseball and football fields. Partnership with South Hill Little League. They have over 700 kids and only one home field. 56 There are many parks available and they are dispersed well throughout neighborhoods. If they were all updated and well-maintained, I think you would see some parks (like DeCoursey or Wildwood) used more, which would also ease congestion at more crowded parks. 57 Several parks downtown and easy to find, other parks in out lying areas and a little harder to find. A Good mix of parks (Wildwood vs Bradley lake vs Grayland) Aug 1, 2013 4:35 PM Aug 1, 2013 11:39 AM Aug 1, 2013 10:43 AM 58 We Have A Lot Of Parks In Puyallup. LOve it Jul 31, 2013 7:39 PM 59 They are convenient for me. Nicely spread throughout the city. Jul 29, 2013 7:32 AM 60 Not enough plain level open grass... For football, soccer, lacrosse, frisbee... Jul 28, 2013 8:49 AM 61 Don't try to pack any more into Pioneer Park. Turn parking lot where old Amin building was torn down into park area 1/2 for pets and 1/2 to demonstration agricultural center with space for educating about "victory gardens" teach valley heritage. Stop talking heritage an preserve it. 62 more parks for families are always a good thing. The rezone should not take place; a sports area would be a much better use of that space. No warehouses. Jul 28, 2013 8:10 AM Jul 26, 2013 6:45 PM 63 Love the variety and differences in each individual parks diversity. Jul 26, 2013 4:42 PM 64 feels like a good distribution Jul 24, 2013 4:01 PM 65 There are a variety of park facilities to choose from and they are well dispersed throughout the city. West Hill neighborhood could use a park. South Hill could use another park because Bradley Lake Park is a well used facility. 66 Would like to have better connectivity with trail systems. Option to have all weather surface for sports Jul 23, 2013 2:00 PM Jul 23, 2013 10:46 AM 67 easy accessibility for our senior community Jul 22, 2013 8:57 PM 68 We have beauitful parks throughout Puyallup Jul 22, 2013 5:38 PM 69 I think there are areas that are underrepresented for park space, which crowds the more popular parks. I think there needs to be a park off Shaw Rd in the valley. Jul 22, 2013 10:25 AM 70 SE Section of town could use a City Park Jul 22, 2013 10:09 AM 6 of 7

Nov 29, 2013 7:48 PM 4 We have enough parks with lawns and plastic play areas. Wherever you have small woodlots with mature trees the city should try to make that a neighborhood nature park. If you do that it provides excellent habitat, especially for migrating birds, as well as enjoyment for people and pleasant learning experiences for kids. Q13. 10-B. Please explain why you chose the specific barriers that are limiting your use of city parks/open space facilities (please provide specific examples if possible) 1 This quarter of the City lags behind the others in parks/space on the Valley floor. Everthing is on the Hill, accessible mainly through Meridian and Shaw Road, a journey of miles for Valley floor residents 2 The dog park in puyallup is pathetic. We need a BIG off leash park like in Lakewood. Nice, grassy, and could easily be a part of Bradley Lake area. Trees, paths, fresh water...we need this. 3 We have noticed increased teen presence at Pioneer Park after the high school lets out in the afternoon, and it's often not the good kids who congregate there, sadly. 4 Bradley Lake Park is always ridiculously full of people. The parks near my house are mediocre at best, and not generally worth the walk. 5 Bradley lake park in particular is very crowded at times and does not have enough parking. Also it can be unpleasant at times due to the geese and their "droppings" Jan 8, 2014 11:15 AM Jan 5, 2014 3:30 PM Jan 3, 2014 11:43 AM Jan 3, 2014 10:25 AM Jan 2, 2014 12:11 PM 6 We would love to be able to walk to a park with our grandchildren Dec 26, 2013 8:57 AM 7 Favorite spot is Bradley Lake. On a perfect summer day, it is overcrowded and parking is slim. 8 I do not live in walking distance anymore. I used to live next to Bradley park and was there a lot. Live further in Puyallup/South Hill and there are less options and no parks to walk to 9 Play structures often have too many big kids. As a little kid I often get pushed, shoved, and run over by the big kids. 10 there no flat open spaces to play on, Bradley Lake is somewhat open but always crowded, no all weather fields for year round use, it rains so often that most natural turf is useless for 5-6 months. Most of our parks are set up for small children. There are more jungle gyms than anything else. The biggest parks are mostly wooded. 11 The most crowded Puyallup park, Bradley Lake is way too crowded and big kids take over the play structures so I stopped taking my little girl there. Dec 18, 2013 4:25 AM Dec 12, 2013 10:29 AM Dec 12, 2013 10:09 AM Dec 12, 2013 10:01 AM Dec 12, 2013 9:46 AM 12 Areas that I use have limited parking or parking to far from area wanting to use. Dec 1, 2013 6:27 AM 13 see above Nov 27, 2013 2:12 PM 14 Bike trails and bike lanes are totally inadequate. Nov 20, 2013 7:50 PM 15 Green access routes to/from mass transit and historic properties need improvement. Street trees are too sterile, need more variety and not cut them down so often. Nov 19, 2013 4:39 PM 16 Not enough time More dog parks Nov 16, 2013 9:49 PM 17 Would like to see access on the river with control & parking. Currently theft is Nov 14, 2013 5:03 PM 3 of 6
