Meli park must commute by automobile to get there. The nearest park to the site has no dog park or jogging trail, and it used for mostly water sport courses. Patrick J. Identification and Program J. Meli Park has great existing facilities, but it lacks a jogging trail, and pet friendly area. After surveying the site, the proposed program is a jogging trail. Observation of the park use by the community, show a need for a walk trail that is pet friendly. The residents often walk or jog there dogs through park. Other residents try jogging or walking within the park, but the grass fields makes it difficult. In addition, the pet friendly walk path is to provide local residents with a safe and pet friendly walkway, since the park is in the middle of residential community. Currently, there is no pet-friendly walk park in walking distance of the community. The program will create a jogging track similar to the Lincoln Park in Hollywood, Florida, and a dog park smaller and similar to Snyder Park in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Since the park has two parcels, the program will use the one parcel (city own) to provide the pet friendly recreation area, and the other parcel (school board own) will provide a jogging trail. 1/12/21 FL 3
