Saturday October 20, 6:00 pm RELEASE All Youth Beef Exhibitors will be released Sunday, October 21, 6:00 am 9:00 am (vehicles/trailers will be allowed in during these times. Vehicles MUST be off the grounds by 9:30am). SPECIAL RULES READ CAREFULLY IMPORTANT: Read carefully all GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS, YOUTH DIVISIONS RULES AND REGULATIONS and all HEALTH RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. THE DEADLINE for Youth Market Beef entries is August 1. The Deadline for Youth Breeding Heifers, Youth Feeder Beef and Youth Prospect Beef is September 14. Entries will close sooner if capacity is reached. See General Rules Entry Requirements for additional explanation. Enter online or mail entries to Arizona State Fair, Livestock Entry Department, 1826 West McDowell Road, Phoenix, AZ 85007. 2. Market beef entries must include a nose print of the animal, fees, color photo and a copy of the seasonal pass with the entry form. See Market Beef rules for details. For online entries, mail or deliver the fees, nose print, color photo, copy of seasonal pass and signed entry form to the entries office within 5 days of deadline. 3. ENTRY FEE: $10.00 per head for each animal is required and must accompany official entry form. 4. Stalls/Pens and wash racks must be kept clean at all times this includes aisles. If warned twice by Coordinator to clean any part of exhibitor s area, prize money may be forfeited. A stall sign displaying the exhibitor s name, animal s name and club, chapter or organization must be posted on animal s stall or pen. 5. Youth animals must be fitted and cared for by the Youth Cattle Exhibitor. Use of paint of any kind will not be permitted. 6. Exhibitor will not be allowed in the show ring without being in SHOW DRESS. See Jr. Livestock General Rules. 7. First bedding will NOT be provided but will be available for purchase at the feed store, or you may bring your own. 8. Exhibitors must have a release from the feed and bedding provider before livestock release will be issued by department Coordinator. Coordinator will assign a release time for each exhibitor to prevent congestion entering the fairgrounds and in the barn area. There will be no parking behind the barns prior to release time. All vehicles must be removed from barn areas prior to 9:00 am every day. BREEDING CLASSES

A legible nose print from each Market animal entered must be submitted on a 3 x 5 card at time of entry. 2. A color photo (maximum size of 4 x 6 ) of each Market animal with exhibitor must be submitted at time of entry. Photo must show the exhibitor s face and a full side view of the animal including hooves. Print name of exhibitor on back of photo. Feeder and Prospect animals are not required to submit a nose print or photo, but are also not eligible to transfer to the Market Beef Class. 3. All animals must be halter broken. 4. Animals shown as breeding animals are NOT eligible for these classes. 5. Junior animals will be classed by weights and divided into classes as determined by the Junior Beef Coordinator. 6. Underweight Prospect and Market animals will be transferred to the appropriate weight divisions. Overweight Prospect or Feeder animals may NOT transfer to the Market Beef Division. 7. At time of judging, market animals may be re-weighed. A weight variance exceeding 5% from the official weight is grounds for disqualification. SPECIAL CONTESTS Division 132 TRICK OR TREAT - Open to Youth Exhibitors, Animals and/or exhibitor in costume. Be creative and have fun. You must sign up in Livestock office by 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 18. Trophies will be awarded by the Arizona State Fair. 160 SHOWMANSHIP - Please see Special Youth Contests for rules and classes offered for Showmanship Contests. 500 EDUCATIONAL EXHIBITS - Youth exhibitors are invited as individuals or as a club/chapter project to display an educational exhibit (not previously used) to be on display in the appropriate barn during Youth Week of the fair. Judging will be based on educational Content, Neatness and Originality. Exhibitor name(s) are to be written on the back of exhibits only. A $25.00 award will be provided for an outstanding individual exhibit and outstanding club/chapter project. No entry is required, BUT exhibitor must check the exhibit in with the department Coordinator and identify the project as a Club/Chapter Project or an Individual Project.
