You can download your songs and script by going to: www.southlandsings.org/gutierrez Ms. Gutierrez Today we are going to talk about biomes. What is a Biome? A biome is a community with certain plants and animals and these plants and animals live in a particular climate and environment; they depend on each other to survive. Let s take a look at our first biome... (Rainforest) The rainforest. In a rainforest it rains a lot. It is very wet. With lots of trees. Lots of animals live in the rain forest. Birds. Snakes. Monkeys Bats and gorillas. IN THE RAIN FOREST, THE RAIN FOREST IT RAINS ALL THE TIME THE RAIN FOREST IS FULL OF PLANTS AND TREES THE RAIN FOREST IS FULL OF ANIMIALS: GORILLAS, SNAKES AND MONKEYS 1

There was one particular snake named Fanger. (Fanger enters and hisses and looks very mean) of the animals in the rain forest were afraid of him. Oh no, here comes Fanger! He is so mean. Animal Animal He was a bully. When the animals saw Fanger coming, they d run away. Animal Here he comes, everybody hide! (The animals spread out and hide in the auditorium) One day a monkey stood up to Fanger and told him to stop being such a bully. Monkey Fanger, you are too mean. You need to learn to be nice to us. I m sorry I will try to be kind. Please forgive me. OK! And the rainforest became a much better place. Fanger Animals Hooray! Let s move on to another biome. You will see that each biome is very different. Our next biome is... (Wetlands) The wetlands! That is right. The wetlands are marshes and they are always wet and moist. Turtles are found on the wetlands and the marshes. The largest wetland animals are crocodiles and alligators, in fact here comes one of the crocodiles now. 2

(Waves to audience) Hello everyone, my naeme is John Cena. (His family enters) And here is my family. (Wave to audience) Hello everyone. (To their dad) Hey dad, can we go on a swim Sure, let s go Kids (They swim and sing their song) WE LOVE WE LOVE There is another creature that lives in the wetland... the SNAKE!! (The snake slithers in) Snake SSSSSSSSS I m bored, I need someone to hang out with. (Snake looks around and sees the crocodile babies) Oh how cute baby crocodiles, I m going to take them home! (When daddy crocodile is not looking she snatches all the babies and takes them of stage) Hey kids it looks like we are coming up on our first stop, what do you think? (He turns around and doesn t see them) Kids, kids! (He looks all around and doesn t see them, he finally asks the audience) Have you seen my kids? (The audience tells him that the snake took his babies) Oh no! I have to go find them! Hey it looks like they might be over here...there they are Daddy! (To the snake) You stole my kids! Kids 3

Snake I m so sorry I was just having them over to feed them a snack, they are so much fun. But you cannot steal someone else s babies Snake OK I promise I won t do it again, but can you all come over for dinner every once in awhile, it would be nice to have company Yes! Kids and WE LOVE WE LOVE I m so glad that found his kids. Let s move on to another biome... (Desert) The Desert! In the desert you will find snakes, coyotes, lizards, tarantulas, porcupines and the gila monsters. Gila monster I am a lizard and I love to chase hikers (Some hikers enter) Here we go (He scares them and the hikers run) AND THAT IS WHAT I SAID AND THAT IS WHAT I SAID Fortunately they were distracted by some nearby snakes and decided to chase the snakes instead. That was close Hiker I LOVE TO CHASE SNAKES, I LOVE TO CHASE SNAKES I LOVE TO CHASE SNAKES, I LOVE TO CHASE SNAKES AND THAT IS WHAT I SAID, THAT IS WHAT I SAID 4

I m glad the hikers are ok. Let s move along to our final Biome... (Ocean) The ocean! The ocean is made of salt water! It is the largest biome on the earth. The fish who live in the ocean breathe through their gills, this allows them to breathe under water. There are also sharks. Whales. Dolphins. There are also some little fish who were not happy. Why? The little fish were being eaten by a bale of sea turtles. What is a bale of sea turtles? A bale means a group of sea turtles. Yum yum, I love eating little fish. Noooooo! (Swimming after a little fish) Little fish WE LOVE OUR LITTLE FISH THEY ARE DELISH OH SO YUMMY THEY FEEL GOOD IN OUR TUMMY WE LOVE OUR LITTLE FISH THEY ARE DELISH 5

One day one of the sea turtles got stuck in the mud. Help! I m stuck! (Asks the other fish) Should we help him? He might eat us. Let s go check it out. (They swim over) (To the fish) Please help me, I m stuck. Why should we help you, you might eat us? Fish Other fish Fish I promise that if you save me, we will never hurt you again. OK we will help you. Thank you for rescuing me Fish Sea Turtle And the sea turtle kept his word. Soon the turtles and fish became friends and lived in harmony. LET S LIVE IN HARMONY UNDER THE SEA LET S LIVE IN HARMONY UNDER THE SEA WORK TOGETHER HELP EACH OTHER LIVE IN PEACE LET S LIVE IN HARMONY UNDER THE SEA 6
