As an appreciation bonus, the names of all 2015 new and renewing members will be placed in a separate drawing for a $50 gift card from their choice of Petco or PetSmart. Both drawings to be held January 2, 2016. PAWS appreciates the support of our members. Without your encouragement and financial support, PAWS programs would be difficult if not impossible to put into action. It takes everyone s support to improve the lives of so many needy companion animals whether they need spaying or neutering, rescuing from the Shelter, or a free ID tag to get them united with their owners. There s strength in numbers and together we are the solution to meet these needs in our community. PAWS Animal Shelter Rescue Program Thanks to our wonderful donors, sponsors and foster families, we are able to rescue many dogs from the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter each month. As of 12/31/14, we have saved the lives of 939 dogs and cats since our inception in 2003! Many of them have had to endure heartworm treatment, mange treatment, limb amputations or other surgeries due to neglect and injuries they received prior to entering the shelter. All of these awesome pets have gone on to loving new families with the help of our rescue partners! In November we were able to pull these 19 wonderful dogs from the shelter who have either already found new homes or will soon be on their way to new lives!

There are always many more waiting at the shelter who need our help. If you would like to be a part of this wonderful rescue effort, please consider donating to our Rescue Program or becoming a foster family. Click HERE to donate to our Animal Shelter Rescue Program Click HERE to access our foster home application. Read our foster home FAQ's HERE. Photos with Santa PAWS by Julie Lewis While the warm Louisiana weather didn t exactly give off a Christmaslike vibe, the beautifully decorated fireplace mantle and Christmas tree inside did! For the second year, our generous friends at Southern Style Antiques, Gifts & Salon hosted this fun holiday event, as well as provided all the lovely props. We are grateful Santa Claus made time in his hectic schedule to spend the afternoon posing with many local pets, and even sometimes, their human families. Our own Jo Traylor volunteered to photograph and Nina Bennett helped pose the pets for over five hours! We saw pets of all breeds, sizes and costume and enjoyed chatting with the pet owners as they selected their favorite photos to purchase. Photos were only $10 each and all proceeds will benefit the furry friends of northeast Louisiana through our PAWS programs. Be sure to check out even more pics on our Facebook pages! Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this super fun event!

Please spay or neuter your pets! If you are a low-income pet owner and can't afford it, we can help! Click HERE for our spay/neuter application. Visit our website to learn more about the importance of spay/neuter. If you have questions, email us at pawsnela@yahoo.com. Welcome! We would like to thank and welcome our November 2015 new & renewing members! Not a member? Join us today! Click HERE to become a PAWS member...
