Some veterinary clinics note increased demand for Dental services if reduced fees are offered during special Dental Months. NVN vets offer reduced dental fees 12 months of the year. Pet dental care, done properly, includes three steps: Blood screening, Choice of anesthesia, and the actual gum and tooth care procedures. We have included several useful links below. Depending upon services to be provided, pet dental care may require preanestheic blood-testing to screen for underlying conditions, genetic issues, or other health factors that may bear upon administration of anesthesia or the type of anesthesia used. Preanesthetic blood work may include a 6 panel chemistry + CBC or a more detailed 12 panel chemistry that is recommended for older pets and more complicated procedures.
