What happened to this Lions year? It has evaporated with many things yet to do. State convention coming up in middle of May and don t forget to apply for Melvin Jones Fellowships by June 1. Presidents Honor Night was great, and District D convention was so informative. The Necrology was so beautifully done. We went to Lancaster Lions 94th Charter night. It was an Irish Theme. We loved that, because my wife and I are Irish! May is a busy month also: May 1st Blood drive by Mountville Lions Club 1:00pm-6:30mp at Trinity Reformed UCC Mountville May 6th Mountville Lions Club 70th Charter Night May 13th District 14-D Rock-For-Sight at Oregon Dairy May 19th-21st State Convention at Seven Springs Remember to spruce up your club signs along the highways and streets. Be proud of Lionism! Roar Lions Roar!!! Remember to make time for family and friends. Wishing you all many blessings and good health always. Incoming, outgoing and future officers should plan to attend. Get your newer Lions members here also. May 13 is the District fund raiser "Rock for Sight" at Oregon Dairy. Sponsor a rocker, come out and rock, buy some roses for Mother's Day. There will be live music and door prizes. Come out for this worthy cause. The State Convention is the 18th, 19th and 20th. Whew, after all that, I need a vacation.

Without fellowships there is not productive clubs. Listen to others, there maybe great ideas for membership growth, and great fundraisers And, be open to new ideas, or old ideas. The Happenings... Blue Ball - 22 members, with 3 prospective new members. Welcome to newest Lioness Sandi Wilson! Their Easter Egg Candy Sale total profits will be announced at their next meeting. Coming up: the Fish Rodeo (see flyer in this newsletter) and Desserts for Veterans. Heidelberg There s always something happening with these 19 Lebanon County ladies, and this month is no exception! Mark your calendars now to support their Variety Bingo night, which benefits their scholarship fund, on Friday, April 28th. They are also looking forward to their Charter Night celebration to be held on Thursday, May 25th. Lititz These 33 members recently held their 17th Annual Fashion Show and once again it was highly successful! Blind and vision-related causes will share in the profits of approximately $2700! At May s Charter Night, they will be celebrating their 35 th anniversary milestone! Congratulations Lititz Lioness!! Millersville - 36 busy members; this very active group assisted the Millersville Lions with their Theme Basket bingo party and has Lion Renaldo Angelini on tap as the guest speaker for their next meeting. Sadly, they lost a very active and faithful Lioness in Dottie Miley, who passed away on March 27 th. The News and Views Isn't it an exciting time to be a Lioness/Lion?! Think of it!!! We are busy staging our own individual club's successful fundraisers to serve others and at the same time congratulating fellow members on their achievements at the Melvin Jones breakfast and President's Honor Night. We just held our District Convention and are now anticipating a great State Convention as well as the Centennial International Convention in Chicago. Everywhere you turn there are such wonderful opportunities to form new friendships while gaining valuable knowledge and unforgettable experiences. And everywhere you turn there's a Lioness/Lion at your side, ready to help you every step of the way on your personal journey: Count on it! Just as the Lions count on you and the world counts on the Lions!!! Keep in mind that the newsletter editor, Anita Gordon, will gladly include your posters and flyers for all to see and share. This is when you go to Oregon Dairy and rock, listen to music, and donate money to help with sight projects. For a donation you can get your picture taken in a huge rocking chair. Come out and help the Lions, Lioness, and Leos of District 14-D to raise money for the visually impaired. When you finish rocking there is an ice cream shop right next to you! The Ephrata Middle School Leo Club will be there face painting for donations and we are looking for other Leo artists to join us!

While we will not be in the path of the total solar eclipse, the sun will be 77% occluded by the moon in the Harrisburg area. Looking at the sun with the naked eye can cause permanent damage to the retina but using the correct protection can make direct viewing of the sun safe! The Greater Lebanon Valley Lions Club will be selling eclipse glasses that will allow you to safely view the sun for $2 each!
