Biography Gordon Eric Bradford was born in Kingsey, Quebec on November 2, He received a BSc degree in Agriculture (1951) from MacDonald College of McGill University, and an MS (1952) and PhD (1956) in Genetics and Animal Husbandry at the University of Wisconsin. Bradford joined the faculty of the Department of Animal Husbandry at UC Davis in His research focused on sheep breeding and genetics. He helped establish and served as a principal investigator in the International Small Ruminant Collaborative Research Program from 1978 through 1996 and led the initiative that culminated in the 2006 establishment of the UC Davis Agriculture Sustainability Institute.
