CAREER PROFILE Dr. Nanyingi Mark is doctoral research fellow at Colorado State University, USA and PhD student at University of Nairobi (Kenya). He investigates Livestock adaptation systems to Climate change with focus on spatial and temporal epidemiology of Rift Valley Fever (RVF). He has a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine degree (2004) and attained a Masters in Pharmacology and Toxicology from University of Nairobi (2008) by conducting research at the Biosciences eastern and central Africa (BecA), International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), which focused on pharmacoepidemiology and drug development of herbal acaricides based on indigenous knowledge of Samburu pastoralists. He previously worked as GIS analyst in Epidemiology unit at KEMRI-Welcome Trust on Malaria Epidemiology and surveillance in Demographic Surveillance System.
