1 2018 PNW Tournament May 11, 12, 13, 2018 Barker Barn - 1 Penninger Road Central Point, Oregon Judge: Paula Browning, Gresham, OR This tournament trial will be held under a covered arena, dirt floor Tournament will start Friday Saturday 11:00 am 9:00 am Sunday 9:00 am The facility will be open for set-up at 7:30 a.m. each day Dogs needing measured between 10:00/10:30 am Friday - 8:00/8:30 Sat and Sunday NOTE: This is not a National event, but to give the West Coast competitors an opportunity to compete in a tournament like setting that are unable to attend the Petit Prix. We will use the tournament scoring for the competition aspect and all the standard runs in addition Petit Prix qualifiers. There will be handler bags, dinner, and special awards like other National events. All standard courses and games will be set at Superior level and be scored for the tournament under the 2018 Tournament Rules. Fun Challenges: Challenges will be offered at $2 per run. Proceeds go to Dogs for Better Living Kathy Swan is in charge of this event Barrel Racing Barrel Racing is a unique game that uses barrels as an agility obstacle. The handler is required to send his dog around barrels in a pattern consistent with the barrel racing of classic American rodeo. Fastest time wins Table in the Middle Six obstacles are set in a circle with the table in the middle. Each obstacle must be performed in sequential order. However, the table must be performed after each numbered obstacle, except the last obstacle on course. The required table performance will be a down. Only one verbal cue and signal is allowed. There will be no table count. When the dog is in a down position the judge will say go. The team may then proceed to the next obstacle. Tournament T-Shirt: Checks to be made out to Beth Moline. 4 date, and accompanied by the correct fees made payable to RCA You must file a separate entry form for each dog entered (i.e., only one dog per form). Checks will not be deposited after the closing date of the trial. NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS The safety of the dogs is our primary concern. By entering this trial, exhibitors acknowledge that they are familiar with the rules and regulations of this sport, and that their dogs are familiar with and able to perform all obstacles safely. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused, or barred from competition by action of the show committee. A refund of all but $5.00 will be given for bitches in season. A letter from your veterinarian is required by the first day of the Trial. All fees must be paid in US funds. There will be a Returned Check Fee of $25.00 for returned checks. In the event of withdrawal from the event, checks will NOT be returned. All unused checks will be destroyed. It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create unnecessary disturbance or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior, may, at the discretion of the show committee, be asked to leave the show site. In that case, no refund of any fees paid will be made. All dogs must be on leash at all times except when using the warm-up area or in the agility ring. No entry fee will be refunded if the Trial cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbance, fire, an act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee. Obstacles shall meet the specifications for obstacles in the current edition of the Regulations for Agility Trials. Exhibitors are responsible for complete, accurate and legible information on entry forms; illegible or incomplete entries cannot be entered in the Trial. Exhibitors must clean up after their dogs at the hotel and at the Trial Site. Food and toys are not permitted in the course area and handlers are not allowed to use whistles or other instruments or devices. Exhibitors are responsible for being at the ring gate when it is their turn to run. Exhibitors may wear shirts or insignias of their training group, if they wish. Choke collars, pinch collars, electric and dummy electric collars are PROHIBITED. Obstacle Familiarization - obstacle familiarization will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning 30 minutes prior to judging for dogs. Familiarization - one time per dog. Warm-ups - a warm-up area, consisting of a regulation agility jump, shall be provided for all Exhibitors. The following is a list of obstacles to be used: (All TDAA size):

Follow Agility signs to site Expo is on your Eligibility - this trial is open to all dogs 20-inches and under at the withers that are over the age of 12 months, except bitches in season, aggressive dogs, or dogs suffering from any deformity, injury or illness which may affect a dog's physical or mental performance. Move-Ups - Move-ups will be accepted for dogs earning a title at a prior show up to the closing date. Move-up requests must be in writing but may be sent via . Move-ups will also be accepted if a dog completes a title during the running of this trial. In such case, the Move-Up request must be made immediately upon posting of scores for the class in which the title was earned. "Move-up Request Form. HEIGHT DIVISIONS Owners are responsible for entering the proper height division. 2 jump height Restricted to dogs measuring 4 or less at the withers; or dogs with a jump height Exemption measuring 8 or less. 4 Restricted to dogs measuring 8 or less at the withers; or dogs with a jump height Exemption measuring 12 or less. 8 Restricted to dogs measuring 12 or less at the withers; or dogs with a jump height Exemption measuring 16 or less. 12 Restricted to dogs measuring 16 or less at the withers; or dogs with a jump height Exemption measuring 20 or less. 16 Restricted to dogs measuring 20 or less at the withers Veteran A jump height exemption (next lower height) will be granted to Veteran Dogs. A veteran dog at least 7 years of age. There is no special system of titling for veteran dogs. In addition to the jump height exemption, Veteran dogs receive and extension in standard course time. Time Exemptions and Tournament Scoring: Disabled Handler and Veteran Dog time exemptions Do Not Apply to Tournament Scoring for the tournament Competition, Placement and Qualification Notes:

6 The Tournament will consist of four Superior Standard courses and six games. The top five placements in each jump height will be recognized in the award ceremony. The winner of each game and standard round through the tournament, measured against the entire field of dogs, shall be recognized and awarded a winner s prize. All dogs, without regard to competition level, or titles earned, shall compete on the same courses. All games and courses are eligible for dogs to earn qualifying legs towards TDAA titles. All courses will be judged under the TDAA Superior rules for performance. However, the dog shall earn a qualifying score only at the level for which he is eligible. Course Time differentials for Beginner/GI, Intermediate/GII, Vet Dog, or Disabled Handler will be not be used for Tournament Scoring. These differentials may be used by the score table to determine if a team earns a qualifying score at the level for which they are eligible and for any Special Awards for the event. Any maximum course times used will accommodate this. Some games have scoring criteria where these additional time allowances will not apply. See complete set of rules at Petite Prix Tournament Rules Just in Time a dog s choice point accumulation game in which the dog earns special bonuses for ending in a timely manner. Just in Time is scored Points, then time. ER2 The Steeplechase is a numbered sequence typically featuring the A-Frame and the weave poles (one of which must be taken twice). A Steeplechase is scored Time, Plus faults. ER5 Pole Jacks is a game of strategy and skill, played like a children s game of jacks. The performance of a short set of weave poles is the bounce of the ball. Pole Jacks is scored Points, then Time. ER2 The Weakest Link is a dog s choice point accumulation game that requires a hander to bank points to keep them: or lose points that are not banked. In this game points earned must be worth as much as or more than the last points earned; and are safe only when banked. Often there will be a distance challenge accorded an extraordinary bonus value. The Weakest Link is scored Points, then time. ER2 Jumplers is a combined class of Jumpers and Gamblers. The dog will run a numbered course consisting of jumps and tunnels that will feature elements on which the dog will earn bonuses for working at a distance from the handler. Jumplers is scored Time, Plus Faults, Less Bonus. ER7 Quidditch is a simple game of handling skill. The handler must direct the dog to perform three sequences of escalating value, and attempting the simple performance of a tire after each. The game is full of interesting bonuses and colorful phraseology. Quidditch is scored Points, Then Time. ER2

8 Agreement I/We acknowledge that the Teacup Dogs Agility Association Rules & Regulations have been made available to me/us, and that I am/we are familiar with their contents. I/We agree to hold the TDAA, TDAA approved judge and Rogue Canine Agility, LLC (HDR) harmless from any legal claim resulting from said Judge s action under the TDAA Rules, Regulations and Guidelines. I/We agree that RCA has the right to refuse entry for cause which the club shall deem to be sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of the Agility Trial and of the opportunity to have the dog judged, I/We agree to hold harmless the directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or show secretary and the owner or lessor of the premises and any employees of the aforementioned parties from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or things by the act of this dog while in or upon the show/trial premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I/We personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim, and I/We further agree to hold the fore mentioned parties harmless from any claim for loss of this dog by disappearance, theft, death or otherwise, and from any claim for damage or injury to the dog, whether such loss, disappearance, theft, damage or injury, be caused or alleged to be caused by the negligence of the club or any of the parties aforementioned, or by the negligence of any other person, or any other cause or causes. I/We hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify and safe the aforementioned parties harmless from any and all loss and expenses (including legal fees) by reason of the liability imposed by law upon any of the aforementioned parties for damage because of bodily injuries, including death at any time arising out of or in consequence of my/our participation in this Agility Trial, howsoever such injuries, death or damage to property may be caused, and whether or not the same may have been caused or may have been alleged to have been caused by negligence of the aforementioned parties or any of their employees or agents, or any other persons. Instructions A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for a show closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner, it must be entered in the name of the new owner in any show for which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his name.
