2 NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS ALL EVENTS The American Kennel Club Rules and Regulations will govern this Show and Exhibitors must make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany this Show Premium List. The American Kennel Club will collect: a $3.00 Event Service Fee and $.50 Recording Fee where applicable for the first entry of a dog, plus a $3.00 service fee for each additional entry of the same dog in the regular and non-regular recordable single-entry classes, in all AKC licensed and member club events. At every licensed or member club rally trial, a recording fee of $3.50 is required for the first entry of each dog and a recording fee of $3.00 is required for each additional entry of the same dog. The event-giving club shall assume the responsibility of collecting all Event Service Fees for The American Kennel Club. These event service and recording fees shall be forwarded to The American Kennel Club along with all other required event results within seven (7) days of the close of the event. No Entry will be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Telegraph, and unsigned entries cannot be accepted and will be returned. Entries not on Official AKC Entry Forms and Photocopies of Entry Forms without Agreement and Rules on reverse side are NOT ACCEPTABLE. The Club and/or Baray Events assumes no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or the owner s agent. RESPONSIBILITY FOR COMPLETENESS OF ENTRY RESTS SOLELY WITH ENTRANT. RETURNED CHECKS DO NOT CONSTITUTE A VALID ENTRY FEE. BaRay Events will add a $25.00 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. We will not re-process checks. The exhibitor will be contacted & required to send a money order for the original amount PLUS the $25.00 NSF fee. Subsequent returned checks from same person may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY BASIS. REFUNDS for cancellations due to judge change or cancellations made prior to entries closing will be mailed by the Club to said Exhibitor or Agent AFTER THE SHOW. An administrative fee of $5.00 will be withheld from all refunds for entries cancelled prior to the closing of entries. There is no refund for bitches in season in Obedience. FAX ENTRIES Fax entries will be accepted up to closing time. Fee is $4.00 per dog per show. If the credit card charge is denied for any reason, an additional service charge of $20.00 will be added. FAX NUMBER: (360) This is for Fax Machine ONLY. Incomplete or illegible Fax entries are not acceptable as a valid entry in a show. Proof of transmission is not proof of receipt of a legible or complete transmission (under AKC Rule Ch. 11, Sec. 4). A Fax- Friendly entry blank PDF is available for download at Entries will be acknowledged after entries close with entry acknowledgment and judging program to address on entry. Should Exhibitor NOT receive an acknowledgment within a reasonable time, PLEASE notify BaRay Events at (360) or dogshows@barayevents.com. Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by the Judge or Veterinarian, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee, or because it has been entered incorrectly. There is no refund for DUPLICATE ENTRIES or OVERPAYMENTS. BaRay Events will make every effort to find all duplicate entries, but if entry has been processed, no refund will be made. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open, or to complete the Show NO REFUND will be made. To find out about any AKC event cancellations call the AKC Event Cancellation Hotline Please note: Any hotel or motel listed in the premium list is subject to Event Committee Rules. We expect our exhibitors to be responsible guests. A report that an exhibitor at this show has abused hotel or motel property during this weekend may result in disciplinary action. Clubs reserve the right to decline future entries from the offending party in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 11, Section 15 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows. Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Superintendent/Show Secretary will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. Only dogs eligible for these shows will be admitted into the show area. There is no provision for unentered dogs. LOSS OR DAMAGE The Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of any accident or misfortune, to either dogs or exhibitors participating in these Shows. The welfare of an Exhibitor s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the Exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that Exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. ALL RIGHTS TO TELEVISE, VIDEOTAPE, ADVERTISE, PHOTOGRAPH, PROMOTE or otherwise exploit this event are vested in the Club, or in persons to whom assignments of such rights have been made in writing by the Club. All persons and animals on the Show Grounds at any time while the show is in progress, do by attending this show or participating therein, grant to the Club the right to photograph, televise, videotape, audiotape or otherwise use their likeness and voice in any manner without further release or consent. OPEN CLASS: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show, and who have won three first place awards in a Novice Class in a licensed or member show, with competition present in the Novice class. Juniors which according to their records have completed the requirements to compete in the Open class but whose status is unconfirmed by the American Kennel Club are limited to competing in the Open Class for a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the Junior completed the requirements according to their records. MASTER CLASS: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won the 10 first place wins in an Open class with competition to be eligible to enter the Limited Class Competition. The calendar for this class will be November 1 - October 31 of the following year. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Each entry shall consist of two dogs of the same breed or variety. They may be either male or female or one of each. The entry fee for the breeder s showcase is $25.00 (Twenty five dollars) per UNIT, not per dog. Entries will be taken day of event on site. Each entry shall have at least one breeder in common. The name of this breeder must be exactly the same, but may fall in any order on the registration. The first entry of the team must be handled by the breeder, the second dog or bitch may be handled by anyone. It is not necessary for dog nor bitch in the Breeder Stakes to be entered at breed level or in the regular classes but either or both may be. This will allow retired champions to be shown in this competition. All entries must be purebred and registered in accordance with AKC rules for entering an AKC Sanctioned show. Altered dogs may be entered. The Breeder s Showcase 2013 groups will be judged on Saturday, July 13, 2013 after the Best in Show judging has been completed. The Club reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. NON-REGULAR MULTIPLE ENTRY CLASSES MASTIFFS ONLY Entry Fee for Each class $28 as first entry, $22 as additional entry. Note: As the judge s decision in these classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog, no one of the dogs making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won the class. Stud Dog Class: For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. Stud Dog must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their get. The owner of the stud dog need not necessarily be owner of the get. While the merits of the stud dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the stud dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard of the breed. Get must be entered in a regular class, Best of Breed Competition, or some other Non-Regular class. Brood Bitch Class: Same rules as Stud Dog. Substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog, and Produce for Get. Brace Class: Two dogs, performing in unison, and presented by a maximum of two handlers. Both dogs competing in the brace class must have at least one common owner. Dogs do not need to be entered in any other class. Dogs comprising a Brace Class must be named at the time of entry, and full particulars must be given for each dog on individual entry forms. If a dog which is to be part of a Brace is not entered in another class, it must be entered for Brace Class only. An entry form for a dog entered in another class and entered as part of a Brace must be marked accordingly in the space provided for additional classes as Brace Class. Special Attraction Veteran Showcase, following Best of Breed. Fee: $ Entrants in Veterans Showcase need not be intact. Spayed and Neutered animals may enter Veteran Showcase. Showcase classes will be divided as follows (both sexes): 7 yrs. & under 9 yrs. 9 yrs. & older. Winners of Veterans Showcase are not eligible for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. 17 AKC Owner-HandleD Series Saturday Only GROUP AND BEST IN SHOW JUDGES FOR THE OWNER-HANDLED GROUPS WILL BE THE SAME AS FOR THE REGULAR GROUPS. GROUP JUDGING WILL IMMEDIATELY FOLLOW THEIR RESPECTIVE GROUP IN AN ADJACENT RING. BEST OWNER-HANDLED IN SHOW WILL BE JUDGED PRIOR TO BEST IN SHOW. The AKC Owner-Handled Series is a non-titling competition for dogs that are exhibited by their owners that are not professional handlers. All dogs that are owner-handled and are not owned or exhibited by professional handlers* meet the requirements for this competition. Exhibitors must declare their dog is Owner- Handled eligible at the time of entry using the check box on the entry form. Eligible dogs will be identified by an asterisk in the steward s book & the catalog. Dogs must be handled throughout the competition by an eligible owner. Professional handlers, household members and assistants to current professional handlers may not exhibit the dog in any competition during the entire show. Owner-Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the dogs that are eligible to compete in the Best of Breed competition including Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and winners of the non-regular classes. o If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is Owner-Handled competition eligible, it will automatically be Owner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety and be eligible to compete in both the regular as well as the Owner-Handled group. o If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is not eligible for Owner-Handled competition and the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety is eligible, the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety will compete against the eligible exhibits of the other sex to determine Owner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety. o If neither the Best of Breed nor the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety are Owner-Handled competition eligible and Select Dog & Select Bitch are both eligible, the judge is to choose Best Owner-Handled exhibit from the Selects and eligible Winners Dog or Winners Bitch. o If one of the Selects is eligible, excuse all Champions and non-regular class winners of the same sex and then choose Best Owner-Handled exhibit from the remaining dogs of the opposite sex including the eligible Winners. o If Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed, Select Dog & Select Bitch are not eligible, the judge may choose any eligible dog remaining in the ring including Winners Dog or Winners Bitch as Owner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety. o If the Best of Winners is eligible, the other Winners are ineligible since it was defeated. o No class dogs other than the Winners Dog & Winners Bitch are eligible to return to the ring. The breed will not be represented in the Owner-Handled Group if there is no eligible dog competing in the Best of Breed or in Best of Winners competition. *Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay or received payment for handling a dog.
