1 GSDCSA Members Competition Judge: Mr. Ian Cooke (SA) - 3/3/19 On Sunday the 3 rd March 2019 I had the privilege on judging the 43 rd Members Specialty Competition run by the GSDCSA. This was the first specialty show in South Australia for The weather conditions were a little humid with periods of sunlight and cloud cover. The overall temperature was not too hot especially following our very hot summer. The show began at 9.00am with LSC Baby Puppy Bitches followed by SC Baby Puppy Bitches through the classes and then followed by the dog classes in the same manner. There was a total of 48 entries on the day with a total of 8 scratching s. Bitches outnumbered dogs with the biggest classes having 5 exhibits. With the GSD National in Melbourne in early April I thought there may have been a few more entries using the show as a training run. It was noted some exhibitors were only entered to get a grading to be able to present their dogs for survey as this was reflective of their performance in the ring being dogs from primarily pet homes and never having been in the show ring before. The show flowed well with all exhibitors and handlers assisting the steward with little delays in changing of handlers. The steward on the day was Marilyn Cooke (a first time steward); Donna Vigor was the ever efficient stenographer with Judy O Loughlin being the show manager and show secretary along with the assistance of Melissa Adamson. The show ran very efficiently and all exhibitors and handlers showed in a very sportsmanlike manner. During movement shows very good ground covering gait however she should be firmer overall. Graded Very Good.

During movement shows very good ground covering gait with good reach and drive where the back remains firm. During movement shows very good ground covering gait with very good reach and drive where the back remains firm.
