We ve had lots of CRAZY weather the past month, but let s hope that Spring is almost here and we are ready to have some fun and special events! Thanks, Liz Suddath FLEA MARKET The Flea Market has made a few changes. If you haven t been out in a while, stop by and see our new look! We are located at 372 Warehouse Road near the Oak Ridge Animal Shelter and across the street from Atlas Van Lines. The flea market is manned by an all volunteer staff, and all merchandise sold comes to us as donations from the community. Website If you haven t checked out our website in a while, please do so. Monthly Meeting Please plan to attend our monthly meeting on the 4th Wednesday of every month, at 6:00 pm at Riverview Grill in Clinton. We will be talking about our upcoming events. The Elizabeth Clark Foundation has helped us out before and their donations have been greatly needed to help with our spay/neuter program. Only 1 in 9 cats and dogs born in the U.S. will find a home. The rest will be destroyed because nobody wants them. Communities spend millions of dollars to control and eliminate unwanted animals. Animal shelters are overburdened with surplus animals. Kristin Olsen, chairperson for the AC Humane Society s spay/neuter program, has sign up to get your pet neutered or spayed on the last Saturday of every month from a.m. at the Anderson County Humane Society Flea Market, 372 Warehouse Road, Oak Ridge. Our program is funded through grants or the generosity of donations by the community. We are a non-profit, so donations are tax deductible. THE HUMANE SOCIETY SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAM FOR ANDERSON COUNTY RESIDENTS ONLY (See Application Requirements at The purpose of the program is to reduce the numbers of unwanted pets or stray animals in Anderson County. Certificate of Acceptance will cover the cost of spay or neuter, fecal exam and basic deworming. It will also cover the cost of shots required at the time of surgery (Rabies and DHLPP for dogs, Rabies and FVRCP for cats). Pet owners are responsible for any additional unauthorized services. It has made a huge difference. We had a work day at the flea market and got all the shelves put up and rearranged the flea market a little. If you haven t been by in a while, come see our new look!
