1 Schäferhundverein RSV2000 [German Shepherd Association RSV2000 e.v.] Sichtung and Körordnung [Evaluation and Breed Survey Rules] Status 01/04/2009 The Executive Committee of the Schäferhundverein RSV2000 e.v. [German Shepherd Association RSV2000 e.v.] decided on these Rules governing Sichtung and Körung [evaluation and breed survey] on January 4, 2009 and on September 30, The rules become effective with the publication on the website of the Schäferhundverein RSV2000 e.v. [German Shepherd Association RSV2000 e.v.]. 1 Sichtung and Körung [Evaluation and Breed Survey] (1) The rules governing the Sichtung and the Körung [evaluation and breed survey] of the Schäferhundverein RSV2000 e.v. [German Shepherd Association RSV2000 e.v.] serve to systematically promote the breed of the Deutscher Schäferhund [German Shepherd] as a utility dog. (2) The purpose of the Sichtung [evaluation] and the Körung [breed survey] is to describe all Deutscher Schäferhund [German Shepherd] in terms of their mental as well as their type characteristics, to document these for the breed and to permit a staggered use in breeding in terms of 6 of the Breed Rules. (3) Any Deutscher Schäferhund [German Shepherd] without a proven pedigree recognized by the VDH or the FCI may be recorded in the register addendum of the Breed Book. a) Registration takes place during a Talentsichtung [aptitude evaluation] in the presence of a breed judge. b) Dogs whose pedigree cannot be fully verified by three recognized breed book generations are entered into the register. c) Dogs without a recognized pedigree and whose appearance and nature, after prior inspection by at least one breed judge, nevertheless corresponds with the stipulated breed characteristics are entered into the register. d) Dogs entered into a register can be included in the regular Breed Book as from the 4th generation. (4) The assessment of mental and type characteristics takes place within the framework of the Sichtung [evaluation] and the Körung [breed survey] by means of the relevant ZG matrix (Attachments 1-6). (2) The Jugendhundsichtung [youth dog evaluation] can be carried out when the dog is between 4-6 months old; Junghundsichtung [young dog evaluation] can be carried out when the dog is 7-12 months old. (3) The assessment of the Deutscher Schäferhund [German Shepherd] is based on the ZG matrix for Jugendhunde [youth dogs] at the age of 4-6 months (Attachment 1 of this rule) and Junghunde [young dogs] at the age of 7-12 months (Attachment 2 of this rule). (4) A Jugendhundsichtung [youth dog evaluation] and a Junghundsichtung [young dog evaluation] are not a precondition for admission to a Talentsichtung [aptitude evaluation] and a Körung [breed survey]. 3 Talentsichtung [Aptitude Evaluation] (1) According to 6 (2) of the Breeding Rules, the Talentsichtung [aptitude evaluation] is not a mandatory precondition for the admission to breed and for the participation in a Körung [breed survey]. (2) Any Deutscher Schäferhund [German Shepherd] with a pedigree from another pure-bred breed association must have taken part at a Talentsichtung [aptitude evaluation] in the Schäferhundverein RSV2000 e.v. [German Shepherd Association RSV2000 e.v.] prior to their first use in breeding. (3) The Talentsichtung [aptitude evaluation] is carried out after the dog is 12 months old. (4) The assessment of the dogs is based on the ZG matrix for the Talentsichtung [aptitude evaluation] (Attachment 3 of these rules).

3 (5) The Talentsichtung [aptitude evaluation] is a part of the progeny assessment in the Schäferhundverein RSV2000 e.v. [German Shepherd Association RSV2000 e.v.]. 4 Provisions Governing the Performance of a Sichtung [Evaluation] (1) Date and place of the Sichtung [evaluation] are published in advance on the Association's website. (2) The Sichtung [evaluation] is taken by by the LAZ (Leiter Ausbildung und Zucht [Training and Breed Manager]) by the LCC (Leiter Competence Center [Competence Center Managers]) by appropriately trained performance judges / breed judges of the Schäferhundverein RSV2000 e.v. [German Shepherd Association RSV2000 e.v.] 5 Right to Perform a Sichtung [Evaluation] (1) At his conscientious discretion, the LAZ has the right to carry out a Sichtung [evaluation] of individual dogs even without prior notification. (2) The LAZ may assign this right of Sichtung [evaluation]. 6 Körung [Breed Survey] (1) The Körung [breed survey] examines the dog's performance abilities with regard to subordination and protection service (mental characteristics), the appearance (type characteristics) and serves to record health and fitness (fitness test) with increasing age. The Körmatrix [breed survey matrix] is compared with the existing assessment matrix from a Jugendhundsichtung [youth dog evaluation], Junghundsichtung [young dog evaluation], as well as a Talentsichtung [aptitude evaluation] in order to document the dog's development. (2) According to 6 (4) of the Breeding Rules, the Körung [breed survey] entitles to additional use in breeding. (3) Any Deutscher Schäferhund [German Shepherd] is permitted to take part in a Körung [breed survey], if the dog has taken part in a Talentsichtung [aptitude evaluation] according to 4 (1) has passed at least one SchH1 / VPG 1 examination taken by a judge of the Schäferhundverein RSV2000 e.v. [German Shepherd Association RSV2000 e.v.], the SV [Verein für Deutsche Schäferhunde = German Shepherd Dog Club], or a performance judge recognized by the VDH has passed an AD examination taken by a judge of the Schäferhundverein RSV2000 e.v. [German Shepherd Association RSV2000 e.v.], the SV, or a performance judge recognized by the VDH

4 has an entry in his pedigree on the website giving an evaluated result for HD and ED of <A>, <B> or <C> has deposited a blood sample to evidence his pedigree (entry in the pedigree on the website) has achieved a minimum result of "good" at a show judged by a judge of the Schäferhundverein RSV2000 e.v. [German Shepherd Association RSV2000 e.v.] or a breed judge recognized by the VDG/FCI (4) The following persons are allowed to carry out a Körung [breed survey]: the LAZ (Leiter Ausbildung und Zucht [Training and Breed Manager]) the LCC (Leiter Competence-Center [Competence Center Managers]) any particularly experienced performance judge or breed judge nominated by the LAZ with the Executive Board's approval (5) Prior to carrying out the assessment, the Körmeister [breed survey master] must assure himself of the participating dog's identity based on the tattoo number or on a microchip check. He must enter the result of the breed survey in the dog's identity card and sign it. (6) The Körung [breed survey] is performed as a Körung 1 at the earliest at 2 years Körung 2 at the earliest at 5 years Körung 3 at the earliest at 8 years (7) Admittance to the next higher Körstufe [breed survey level] presupposes that the previous lower Körstufe [breeding survey level] was passed, but not before the expiry of a six-month waiting period. (8) The assessment of type characteristics and mental characteristics as well as fitness is based on the ZG matrix for the Körung 1 (Attachment 4) the Körung 2 (Attachment 5) the Körung 3 (Attachment 6) (9) A Körung [breed survey] is considered passed when the type characteristics and mental characteristics are awarded at least 700 points in addition to having passed the fitness test for Körung [breed survey] 2 and 3. (10) The officiating Körmeister's [breed survey master] decisions are final. No objection is permitted. 7 Provisions Governing the Körung [Breed Survey] (1) The LAZ draws up an annual Körplan [breeding survey schedule]. This is published at the beginning of the year on the website of the Schäferhundverein RSV2000 e.v. [German Shepherd Association RSV2000 e.v.]. All the results of the breeding survey are also published on the website.

5 (2) The Körung [breeding survey] is carried out in the Competence Centers (CC). The member may decide at which CC the respective dog is presented. (3) A Körung [breed survey] that is not passed can be taken again following an application to the LAZ. 8 Liability The owner is liable for any damage caused by his dog. 9 Non-Members (1) A Deutscher Schäferhund [German Shepherd] who has a VDH or FCI pedigree and whose owners are not members of the Schäferhundverein RSV2000 [German Shepherd Association RSV2000 e.v.] may take part at a Sichtung [evaluation]. However, the owner s membership the Schäferhundverein RSV2000 e.v. [German Shepherd Association RSV2000 e.v.] is a prerequisite should the dog be used in breeding. 10 Enforcement and Final Provision (1) These rules become effective following the decision taken by the Executive Board on 08/12/2007. Should parts of these rules become null and void, this does not lead to the entire rules becoming null and void. In this event, the affected provisions will apply mutatis mutandis.
