The examination is designed to test the knowledge, skills and competences of candidates wishing to practise veterinary medicine in Ireland. These attributes are those determined by the Council to be required of graduates of accredited programmes of veterinary medicine in Ireland. Eligibility The examination will be held in two parts. Before being permitted to register for Part 1 of the examination candidates will have to demonstrate (1) That they have completed a course of study in an institution of higher learning, comprising at least 4 years of full-time study, leading to registration as a veterinary practitioner in their country of origin.
