Oktober Nr von 6 CONVENTION ON INTERNATIONAL TRADE IN ENDANGERED SPECIES OF WILD FAUNA and FLORA Amendments to the Appendices I, II and III valid from 12 June 2013 A Under FAUNA (animals) I In the class MAMMALIA (MAMMALS) 1. In the chapter Bovidae Antelopes, cattle, duikers, gazelles, goats, sheep etc. Appendix I Rupicapra pyrenaica ornate is deleted and included in Appendix II. 2. In the chapter Camelidae Guanaco, vicuna at Vicugna vicugna it is inserted in Appendix II before Peru: Ecuador 2a (the whole population) Footnote 2a reads as follows: 2a population of Ecuador (listed in Annex II): For the exclusive purpose of allowing international trade in wool sheared from live vicuñas and in cloth and items made thereof, including luxury handicrafts and knitted articles. The reverse side of the cloth must bear the logotype adopted by the range States of the species, which are signatories to the Convenio para la Conservación y Manejo de la Vicuña, and the selvages the words VICUÑA ECUADOR. Other products must bear a label including the logotype and the designation VICUÑA ECUADOR-ARTESANÍA ). All other specimens shall be deemed to be specimens of species included in Appendix I and the trade in them shall be regulated accordingly. 3. In the chapter Thylacinidae Tasmanian wolf thylanxine, Appendix I Thylacinus cyynocephalus (possibly extinct) is deleted. 4. In the chapter Macropodidae Kangaroos, wallabies Appendix I Onychogalea lunata is deleted. 5. In the chapter Potoroidae rat kangaroos Appendix I Caloprymnus campestris (possible extinct) is deleted. 6. The chapter Chaeropodidae Pig-footed bandicoot Appendix I Chaeropus ecaudatus (possibly extinct) is deleted. 7. In the chapter Thylacomyidae bilby Appendix I Macrotis leucura is deleted. 8. In the chapter Trichechidae manatees, Appendix II Trichechus senegalensis is deleted and included in Appendix I.

In the chapter Phasianidae Grouse, guineafowl, partridges, pheasants, tragopans Appendix I Lophura imperialis is deleted. 2. In the chapter Phasianidae Grouse, guineafowl, partridges, pheasants, tragopans Appendix I Tympanuchus cupido attwateri is deleted and inserted in Annex II. 3. In the chapter Picidae woodpeckers Appendix I Campephilius imperialis is deleted. III In the class REPTILIA (REPTILES) 1. In the chapter Agamidae Agamen mastigures Appendix II Saara spp. is newly included. In the chapter Chamaeleonidae Chameleons Appendix II Archaius spp. and Trioceros spp. are newly included. 3. In the chapter Gekkonidae Geckos Appendix II Cyrtodactylus serpensinsula is deleted and Nactus serpeninsula spp. newly included. 4. In the chapter Gekkonidae Geckos Appendix III Naultinus spp. (New Zealand) is deleted and included amended as Naultinus spp. in Appendix II. 5. In the chapter Viperidae Vipers Appendix II Trimeresurus mangshanensis is newly included. 6. In the chapter Chelidae Austro-American side-necked turtles Appendix II with Chelodina mccordi the following parenthesized expression is included: (Zero export quota for specimens from the wild). 7. In the chapter Emydidae (marsh turtles) Box turtles, freshwater turtles Appendix II Clemmys guttata, Emydoidea blandingii, Malaclemys terrapin is newly included. 8. In the chapter Geoemydidae (Old World Marsh Turtles) Box turtles, freshwater turtles, Appendix II Batagur spp. (except for the species in Appendix I) is deleted. 9. In the chapter Geoemydidae (Old World Marsh Turtles), Box tutles, freshwater turtles Appendix II Batagur borneoensis 7, Batagur dhongoka, Batagur kachuga, Batagur trivittata 7,, Cyclemys spp.,geoemyda japonica, Geoemyda spengleri, Hardella thurjii, Mauremys japonica, Mauremys nigricans, Melanochelys trijuga, Morenia petersi, Sacalia bealei, Sacalia quadriocellata, Vijayachelys silvatica are newly included. Footnote 7 reads as follows: 7 Zero quota for specimens from the wild for commercial purposes. 10. In the chapter Geoemydidae (Old World Marsh Turtles) Box turtles, freshwater turtles, Appendix II the following paranthezised expression is newly included after Cuora spp. (Zero quota for specimens from the wild for commercial purposes for Cuora aurocapitata, C. flavomarginata, C. galbinifrons, C. mccordi, C. mouhotii, C. pani, C. trifasciata, C. yunnanensis and C. zhoui). 11. In the chapter Geoemydidae (Old World Marsh Turtles) Box turtles, freshwater turtles, Appendix III Mauremys nigricans, Sacalia bealei, Sacalia quadriocellata is deleted.

In the chapter Testudinidae tortoises Appendix I Geochelone platynota is newly included. 14. In the chapter Trionychidae softshell turtles Appendix I Aspideretes gangeticus, Aspideretes hurum, Aspideretes nigricans is deleted and Chitra chitra, Chitra vandijk, Nilssonia gangeticus, Nilssonia hurum, Nilssonia nigricansi is newly included. 15. In the chapter Trionychidae softshell turtles Appendix II the following parenthesized expression is newly included with Chitra spp.: (except for the species in Appendix I). 16. In the chapter Trionychidae softshell turtles Appendix II Dogania subplana, Lissemys ceylonensis, Nilssonia formosa, Nilssonia leithii, Palea steindachneri, Pelodiscus axenaria, Pelodiscus maackii, Pelodiscus parviformis, Rafetus swinhoei is newly included. 17. In the chapter Trionychidae softshell turtles Appendix III Palea steindachneri (China), Pelodiscus axenaria (China), Pelodiscus maackii (China), Pelodiscus parviformis (China), Rafetus swinhoei (China) is deleted. IV In the class AMPHIBIA (AMPHIBIANS) 1. The following new chapter is inserted: Aromobatidae Fragrant frogs In Appendix II the following is included: Allobates femoralis, Allobates hodli, Allobates myersi, Allobates rufulus, Allobates zaparo. 2. In the chapter l Bufonidae toads Appendix I Bufo periglenes, Bufo superciliaris, Spinophrynoides spp. is deleted and Amietophrynus superciliaris, Incilius periglenes newly included. 3. In the chapter Dendrobatidae poison frogs Appendix II Allobates femoralis, Allobates zaparo, Cryptophyllobates azureiventris is deleted and Adelphobates spp., Ameerega spp., Andinobates spp., Excidobates spp., Hyloxalus azureiventris, Minyobates spp., Oophaga spp., Ranitomeya spp. is newly included. 4. The following new chapter is inserted: Dicroglossidae frogs In Appendix II the following is inserted: Euphlyctis hexadactylus, Hoplobatrachus tigerinus 5. In chapter Hylidae Tree frogs Appendix II footnote 10 is deleted with Agalychnis spp.. 6. The chapter Ranidae True frogs is deleted. 7. The chapter Rheobatrachidae is renamed Myobatrachidae and in Appendix II the following parenthsized expression is added at Rheobatrachus spp.: (except for Rheobatrachus silus and Rheobatrachus vitellinus). 8. In the chapter Cryptobranchidae giant salamanders Cryptobranchus alleganiensis (United States of America) is inserted in Appendix III. 9. The chapter Hynobiidae Asiatic salamanders is newly inserted and included in Appendix III Hynobius amjiensis (China).

Under this heading the new chapter Carcharhinidae Requiem sharks will be inserted and in it in Appendix II Carcharhinus longimanus (Entry into effect delayed by 18 months, i.e. until 14 September 2014). Furthermore the chapter Sphyrnidae Hammerhead sharks and in Appendix II Sphyrna lewini (Entry into effect delayed by 18 months, i.e. until 14 September 2014), Sphyrna mokarran (Entry into effect delayed by 18 months, i.e. until 14 September 2014), Sphyrna zygaena (Entry into effect delayed by 18 months, i.e. until 14 September 2014) and in Appendix III Sphyrna lewini (Costa Rica) (Until 14 September 2014) is inserted. 2. In the chapter Lamnidae Great white shark the following is inserted in Appendix II: Lamna nasus (Entry into effect delayed by 18 months, i.e. until 14 September 2014) and in Annex III Lamna nasus (Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark 8, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) (Until 14 September 2014). Footnote 8 reads as follows: 8 Excluding the dependent territory of Greenland. 3. In the chapter Pristidae, sawfishes the parenthesized expression is deleted in Appendix I with Pristidae spp. (Except the species included in Appendix II.) and in Annex II Pristis microdon (For the exclusive purpose of allowing international trade in live species, which are first and foremost transported for the purpose of conservation to acceptable and appropriate aquariums). 4. Under the heading RAJIFORMES the chapter Mobulidae and in it in Appendix II Manta spp. (Entry into effect delayed by 18 months, i.e. until 14 September 2014) is newly included. VI In the class INSECTA (INSECTS) 1. In the chapter Papilionidae Birdwing butterflies, swallowtail butterflies Papilio hospiton is deleted in Appendix I and included in Appendix II.

Under the heading ANACARDIACEAE Cashews Operculicarya decaryi is newly included in Appendix II. 3. Under the heading BROMELIACEAE Air plants, bromelias Tillandsia kautskyi #4, Tillandsia sprengeliana #4 and Tillandsia sucrei #4 are deleted in Appendix II. 4. The heading CRASSULACEAE Dudleyas and below in Appendix II Dudleya stolonifera and Dudleya traskiae are deleted. 5. Under the heading EBENACEAE Ebonies Diospyros spp. #5 (Population Madagascar) is newly included in Appendix II. Footnote #5 reads as follows: #5 Logs, sawnwood and veneer sheets. All Diospyyros species mentioned in Appendix III are deleted. 6. Under the heading LEGUMINOSAE (Fabaceae) Afrormosia, cristobal, rosewood, sandalwood Dalbergia spp. #5 (Populations of Madagascar), Dalbergia cochinchinensis #5, Dalbergia granadillo #6, Dalbergia retusa #6, Dalbergia stevensonii #6, Senna meridionalis are newly included in Appendix II. Footnote #5 reads as follows: #5 Logs, sawnwood and veneer sheets. Footnote #6 reads as follows: #6 Logs, sawnwood veneer sheets and plywood. Dalbergia louvelii #5 (Madagaskar), Dalbergia monticola #5 (Madagaskar), Dalbergia normandii #5 (Madagaskar), Dalbergia purpurascens #5 (Madagaskar), Dalbergia retusa [Population of Guatemala (Guatemala)] #5, [Population of Panama (Panama)] #2, Dalbergia stevensonii #5 [Population Guatemalas (Guatemala)], Dalbergia xerophila #5 (Madagaskar) are deleted in Appendix III. 7. Under the heading PASSIFLORACEAE Passion flowers Adenia firingalavensis and Adenia subsessilifolia are newly included in Appendix II. 8. The heading PEDALIACEAE Sesames is newly included and below Uncarina grandidieri and Uncarina stellulifera are newly included in Appendix II. 9. The heading SANTALACEAE sandalwoods is newly included and below Osyris lanceolata #2 (Populations of Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and the United Republic of Tanzania) are inserted in Appendix II. Footnote #2 reads as follows: #2 All parts and products except: a) Seeds and pollen and b) finished products, packaged and ready for retail trade. 10. The heading ZAMIACEAE Cycads is newly included and below Ceratozamia spp., Chigua spp., Encephalartos spp., Microcycas calocoma is inserted in Appendix I and ZAMIACEAE spp. #4 (Except the species included in Appendix I) is inserted in Appendix II. Footnote #4 reads as follows: #4 All parts and products except: a) Seeds (including seedpods of Orchidaceae),spores and pollen (including pollinia). The exemption does not apply to seeds from Cactaceae spp. exported from Mexico, and to seeds from Beccariophoenix madagascariensis and Neodypsis decaryi exported from Madagascar; b) seedling or tissue cultures obtained in vitro, in solid or liquid media, transported in sterile containers, and c) cut flowers of artificially propagated plants; d) fruits, and parts and derivatives thereof, of naturalized or artificially propagated plants of the genus Vanilla (Orchidaceae) and of the family Cactaceae;
