4 THe WeST OF england It s our turn to host the Combined Cavalier Club Championship Show, to be held at Top Barn Farm, Holt Heath, Worcs., on Saturday 20th August Following the sad death of one of our best known members, Molly Coaker, we are dedicating this show to Molly and her Homerbrent dogs. We hope this will be a very special event. All members will receive a commemorative booklet and there will be many Specials on offer. We are having a HOG ROAST and LIVE ENTERTAINMENT after the show, at a cost of per head. There will be NO BAR but you are welcome to BRING YOUR OWN TIPPLE to add to the enjoyment of the evening. The show will be held in conjunction with the Cavalier Club Open Show and there will be a fantastic weekend of Cavalier events, kicking off with: * Friday 19th - Welsh KC, Builth Wells * (about 1.5hrs from Top Barn Farm) * Friday 19th (evening) at Top Barn Farm - Puppy of the Year (hosted by the Cavalier Club) * * Saturday 20th August - The West of England Championship Show * * Sunday 21st August - The Cavalier Club Open Show * Why not bring your caravan and enjoy a short break in a beautiful part of the country? There are excellent Caravan & Camping facilities available, many with electric hook-ups. Pitches will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The Caravan Warden will be David Moger, who will attempt to place all groups of friends in close proximity to each other! The Site will be open from Sunday 7th August - Monday 22nd August. The Breeder is responsible for obtaining the necessary authority to compete from the show organisers (or designated official such as the Ring Steward) to compete for the award. 5 The Breeder s team must comprise four exhibits of the same breed, all of which must be entered in a class at the show. 6 A Breeder may enter more than one team per show. 7 All dogs must have the same registered breeder. 8 The beaten dog rule will NOT apply. 9 Best Breeder in Breed goes through to a Best Breeder in Group award. 10 Breeders acquire points in competition over a calendar year as follows: Breed win 1 point, Win in AVNSC Classes 1 point, Fourth in Group 1 point, Third in Group 2 points, Second in Group 3 points, First in Group 4 points. The thirty Breeders who have amassed the highest number of points over a calendar year will qualify for the DFS Crufts Final in the following year. At the end of the competition year in question, Breeders should forward their record books to the Canine Activities Department at the Kennel Club which will advise whether they have qualified for the DFS Crufts Final.
