1 Bull Terrier Club of America National Specialty October 15, 2017 Duff Harris, Judge Kudos to the Barbary Coast Bull Terrier Club for putting on and hosting a fantastic Silverwood weekend. It was, indeed, an honor to be asked to judge our National Specialty. Thank you to all of the exhibitors who entered the show, it was a pleasure to judge this outstanding group of dogs as the quality of exhibits was exceptional. COLORED BULL TERRIERS 6-9 Puppy Dogs 1. Graham and Thomas GRAYBO TESTAROSSA FORMULA FOR DRAMA (CH Action Devils Apprentice by Formula x GCH Actions Formula for a Queen) Nicely balanced red and white youngster. Long, clean profile, nice eye and ear set, good expression, adequate fill. Nice length of neck leading to a straight topline, nice angulation. 2. Lockyer, Ruppel and Aten s QUICKSILVER WEAR YOUR COLORS (CH Bestuvall Too Hot to Cross at Moxie x Quicksilver Wicked Ways) Upstanding brindle and white boy, nice finish, a bit flat in mid-profile, nice expression. Moved well front and rear Dogs 1. Keig and Alexander s BRIGADOON ROYAL BARD OF CIERA (CH Brigadoon Walk-a- Bout x GCH Brigadoon Strawberry Blonde) Typy black brindle and white with good bone and substance. Nicely arched profile, good fill and expression. Good broad chest, good angulation. Bred by Exhibitor Dogs 1. RESERVE WINNERS DOG: Brown and Kurtis DELICIOUS HE S MY BROTHER (CH Megaville s Signing Off x GCH Action Deliciously Devine) Strapping brindle and white boy that keeps getting better each time I see him. Well-packed head, with a gentle profile, wellshaped eye, and good expression. Perfect bite. Strong chest and depth of brisket. Moved with purpose around the ring. 2. Myall and Harman s ISLAY SPOT ON WITH MAGOR, RN (CH Lonestar Whole Lotta Hoopla x GCH Major Islay Passion, RA) Brindle and white boy with tons of bone and substance. Well-arched and filled head, undershot mouth. Nice shoulder led to good extension on the move. American Bred Dogs 1. Cooke and Belden s LECHMERE DEED OF TRUST (Emred Devil s Spy x CH Lechmere s a Penny for Your Thoughts) Substantial brindle and white with decent fill, good expression. Profile smooth but a bit flat. Open Dogs 1. WINNERS DOG, BEST OF WINNERS, BEST OF VARIETY and BEST OF BREED: Mori and Varado s CAN. CH MAGOR MACBEATTY (CH Magor Pretty Fly 4 a White Guy x Magor Miss Fantabulous) Big, typy yet compact red and white dog who impressed as soon as he walked in the ring. Nicely arched head filled all the way down to the nose, perfect bite. Small, dark eye and good ear set contributed to great expression. Standing four-square, he has a strong neck leading into a short back with a straight topline that he held on the move. Deep, broad chest and brisket, well-laid shoulder, straight front with good rear angulation led to very good reach and drive on the move. Wonderful balance, type and substance. Expertly shown by his handler.

Body still a bit immature, she moved happily around the ring Puppy Bitches 1. RESERVE WINNERS BITCH: Graham and Jaspers NOTORIOUS LEATHER AND LACE AT MOXIE (CH Rabram Royal Star x CH Fortifer s Flammeta) Brindle and white girl with pretty, flowing lines. Well-arched and filled head, good eye, perfect bite. Good length of neck blending smoothly into the withers. Good shoulder assembly, straight front, decent angulation and nice tight feet. Moved well front and rear. Bred by Exhibitor Bitches 1. Belstock and Niehouse s MADGRACE PLAYS CUPID FOR SINABAR BELBAR (CH Belbar Sinabar Johnny on the Spot x GCH Sinabar and Love Like Crazy) Substantial black brindle and white, smooth profile, good fill with nice depth of head. Nice, round ribs with deep brisket. Straight topline, moved with good drive. 2. Gotham, Utt and Wong s BULLARDS N ARDRYS BODEGA BEACH BABE (CH Ardry N Bullards Sharp Dressed Man x CH Wicked Bullards Payton s Sweetheart) Upstanding black bridle and white with nice finish to her head but a bit flat in mid-profile. Good expression. Moved well around the ring. American Bred Bitches 1. WINNERS BITCH: Aten and Jasper s NOTORIOUS MIESHA TATE (Skyline Defies Dazlin x Notorious Nevermore) Elegant lines to this solid brindle girl. Well-turned and filled head with a tiny eye, wonderful expression, and perfect mouth. Nice length of neck blending into a strong, straight topline. Good reach and drive on the move. 2. Harlamoff and Waynee s SOQUEL MILLENIUM BLACK PEARL (Rhydaman Gold Medal x CH Soquel Millenium Sea Glass) Typy black brindle and white with good substance and bone for her size. Smoothly arched profile with decent fill. Good angulation, moved out with drive. Open Bitches 1. Johnson-Bowen and L. Myall s STRONGHAVEN THE GAMES AFOOT AT ICENI (GCH Iceni Shot Taken x CH Iceni Gamepoint at Stronghaven) Brindle and white girl with nice lines and scope. Pleasing head and expression. Moves well in all directions. Veteran Dog 1. BEST VETERAN DOG: Decker and Berez s GCH ACTION TURNING HEADS IN HOTLANTA (GCH Action Head Games x GCH Action Dreams of the Devine) Substantial brindle and white with good bone. Turned and packed head and good expression. Moved with purpose around the ring. Still a happy showman. 2. Bebb, Cambell-Hegg and L. Myall s GCH ICENI SHOT TAKEN, NAP (Quickliver Monster Truck x CH Iceni Point Taken) Another substantial brindle and white boy. Gently turned head with good fill. Broad chest, good spring of rib. Veteran Bitch 1. BEST VETERAN BITCH: Dykema and Murphy s CRESTMONTS CRIMSON COPY AT BESTUVALL (CH Cool Conquistador at Crossgarley x CH Cresmonts Chances R Bestuvall) Red and white girl combining beautiful lines and substance. Well-arched and filled head, great earset, wonderful expression. Nice neck leading into a straight topline and good bend of stifle.

3 2. Harlamoff and Waynee s GCH SOQUEL MILLENIUM BLACK FERN (CH Brummagem Spectacular Bid x CH Brigadoon s All Black Soquel) Cobby black brindle and white with a pleasing head and expression. Well laid shoulder and good angulation led to sound movement. Still a phenomenal showgirl. All of the veterans looked tremendous, were in great shape, and are still showing their hearts out. Congratulations to the breeders and owners. Best of Variety Class BEST OF OPPOSITE SEX: Aten and Dykema s GCH BESTUVALL ON EASY STREET (CH Sarajeni Easy Rider x CH Crestmonts Crimson Copy at Bestuvall) Statuesque brindle and white with wonderful lines, scope and substance. Gently turned profile, good fill and expression. Slight mouth fault. Nice depth of brisket, good length of neck blending well into a straight topline that she held on the move. Well-laid shoulder and good angulation led to excellent movement in all directions. SELECT DOG: Jaspers CH RABRAM ROYAL STAR (Javarke Karbon Kopy x Rabrams Bright Star) Upstanding black brindle and white with nice scope and balance. Smoothly arched profile with good fill. Short back and moved with drive around the ring. SELECT BITCH: Byzewski and Smith s CH MAGOR NEW MOON RISING (CH Pretty Fly 4 a White Guy x CH Millenium Moonstruck) Typy brindle and white girl who stood four-square. Lovely head and expression, elegant neck leading into a strong topline. Correct construction throughout led to free and easy movement around the ring. AWARD OF MERIT: Davis and Smith s GCH MAGOR GALACTIC AGENT (Emred Huntsman x Can. CH Magor Moulin Rouge) Handsome fawn and white with great scope and balance. Nicely arched profile, decent fill, wonderful expression, slight mouth fault. Handled and shown to perfection. AWARD OF MERIT: Prater-Piles GCH FORMULA FOR A POWER FILLED GINGER (Emred Huntsman x GCH Action Headed for Power) Red and white girl with beautiful balance and lines that keeps getting better every time I see her. Well-made and in wonderful condition. WHITE BULL TERRIERS 6-9 Puppy Dogs 1. Baumgartner and Shaw s HERE FOR A GOOD TIME SECOND TO NONE (CH Notorious Never Say Never x CH Second to None It s Too Darn Hot) Well constructed boy who moved and showed well, just needs time to mature. 2. Jardine, Redmond and Ruppel s QUICKSILVER LIVE WIRE (CH Bestuvall Too Hot To Cross at Moxie x Quicksilver Wicked Ways) Pleasing head and expression. Another one that needs time to fill out and come together Dogs 1. WINNERS DOG: Dykema, Antle and Konings KINGSFARMS DUTCH ROYAL (Teirwgwyn Top Gun x CH Action Hot and Classy) Good type and balance on this dog. Nicely turned profile, good fill and proper ear set contributed to excellent expression. Good length of neck led to short back with nice muscling over the loin. Correct shoulder and rear construction contributed to reach and drive on the move.

4 Bred by Exhibitor Dogs 1. Davis ENVOY MVP (GCH Magor Galactic Agent x CH Envoy Return to Rome) Very nice dog with great lines combined with proper construction and good muscling. Gently arched profile, decent fill and a straight topline that he held on the move. Black mismark at base of the tail. American Bred Dogs 1. RESERVE WINNERS DOG: Heniser and Davis ENVOYS HARD CIDER (GCH Magor Galactic Agent x CH Envoy Return to Rome) Very typy lad with nice bone and substance. Well-arched profile, good fill, pleasing expression. Ultra-short back, straight topline with a nicely muscled rear. Good layback of shoulder and angulation led to true movement around the ring. 2. Waynee, Ruppel, and Harlamoff s SOQUEL MILLENIUM FLYING DUTCHMAN (Rhydaman Gold Medal x CH Soquel Millenium Sea Glass) Upstanding boy with nice scope. Good profile, tiny oblique eye and good fill. Well-angulated rear and straight topline that he held on the move. Open Dogs 1. Saldivar s TEXICAN S BILLY BOB GETTING IT DONE (Bilboan Prince of Darkness x GCH Arnold s Pandora Rose to the Occasion) Short-coupled dog with good bone and substance. Gentle profile with good fill, slight mouth fault, good depth of brisket. Topline appeared a bit too roachy at times. 6-9 Puppy Bitches 1. WINNERS BITCH and BEST OF WINNERS: Ruppel s QUICKSILVER UNSTOPPABLE (CH Bestuvalls Too Hot to Cross at Moxie x Quicksilver Wicked Ways) Beautiful young girl with flowing lines, great balance and good construction. Gentle profile with good fill, tiny eyes and good ear set led to nice expression. Long graceful neck flowing into a straight short back with nice muscling over the loin. Good shoulder and rear construction and nice, tidy feet. Moved freely around the ring. 2. Prater-Piles and Berez s ACTIONS FORMULA FOR A DRAMA PRINCESS (CH Action Devil s Apprentice by Formula x GCH Actions Formula for a Queen) Nicely arched profile, good fill, tiny eye and wonderful expression. Good topline and shown in nicely muscled condition Puppy Bitches 1. Aten and Dykema s BESTUVALLS HOT LITTLE PISTOL (CH Bestuvalls Too Hot to Cross at Moxie x GCH Crestmonts Crimson Copy at Bestuvall) Pleasing young girl with a smooth, arched profile and nice fill. Good length of neck with a straight topline and nice angulation. Moved true coming and going Bitches 1. L Martin and R Martin s BODINA BULPIN DRAGONFLY (GCH Soquel Millenium Seafarer x Wakatang PS I Love You) Cobby girl with a nicely-turned profile, good fill and tiny eyes. Good bone and substance with a nicely muscled rear. Moved well. Bred by Exhibitor Bitches 1. Holsen and Wright s GLENTOM RUN FOR COVER (CH Emred Rum Runner x CH Glentom Cover to Cover) Well made girl with a pleasing head and expression. Nice length of neck blended into a solid topline. Had very nice reach on the move. 2. Cox s SOME OKIES WICKEDLY WHITE MAIDEN (CH Kingsland Hot Classy Devil at Some Okies x Some Okies Ironmaiden) Balanced bitch with very nice length to her gently turned profile. Tiny triangular eyes. Good rear angulation.

Nicely arched profile, good fill and keen expression. Beautiful length of neck leading into a strong, straight topline. Good shoulder and rear assembly. Strong forechest and tightly-tucked elbows. On the move, she covered the ground easily. 2. Fagg s BESTUVALL BROADSIDE MISSTRIAL (CH Dolomite s EZ Copy at Bestuvall x GCH Bestuvall Take it Easy) Elegant, upstanding girl with a long, clean profile. Nice ear placement and good expression. Veteran Dogs 1. BEST VETERAN DOG: McCall and Baldasin s CH SILMARIL STRAIGHT UP SCHATZI FUNKADELIC (Silmaril Saboteur x Silmaril Samba) Well made boy who still has bone and substance. Nice width to his head and showed expression. Moved happily around the ring. Best of Variety Class BEST OF VARIETY: D Whitmer and Valzadeh s GCH AMAIZE SUPERNOVA (GCH Yoeckydoe s Gamin x CH D Bar Lady Gaga Tulsadoom) Tremendous virtues for this powerhouse of a dog. Wide, turned and completely filled head, the tiniest of eyes and good ear set give this boy a paralyzing expression. Mouth incorrect. Big, deep chest and brisket, strong topline and great muscling throughout. Standing, right pastern is a bit weak but on the move, this boy is all about power and drive. Shown to perfection. BEST OF OPPOSITE SEX and BEST OPPOSITE TO BEST OF BREED: Graham, Dykema and Cooley s GCH WHISTLESTOP N BESTUVALL PAPER MOON (Emred Devils Spy x GCH Bestuvall Barbara Moon) Beautifully balanced girl with a smooth, turned profile, excellent fill, tiny eye and great expression. Graceful neck blending into a strong topline. Good bone and substance for her size. Moved with good reach and drive and was the perfect showgirl for her handler. Long turned head, good fill, tiny eyes and a correct bite. Nicely made, he has a strong forechest, deep brisket and well-muscled thighs. Moved very well in all directions. SELECT BITCH: Tesconi, Sanderson, Brouwer and Berez s CH BIGSHOT MORNING SUN (Emred Devils Spy x Bigshot Lady Lollipop) Stylish, substantial girl with power to spare. Long, clean profile, good depth of head and nice expression. Good shoulder and rear angulation, excellent feet, moved well. Packed head with good expression. Nice short back with a well let-down rear.
