Every now and then, loose dogs run through our neighborhood (dog park people don't always leash their animals). In addition, some people don't manage their dog's barking. My car was robbed one night last summer. I don't lock my doors because it's a 2000 CRV, and I don't have anything valuable in it. I had some loose change in the ashtray and a little clock in the console. Both were taken. I've also seen that there have been car thefts on Nextdoor. I call when I see suspicious activity. This mainly happens at Dakota Park later at night. 4 The only issue I've come across in the two years that I've lived here is the occasional driver who will run and or roll through stop signs in the immediate blocks surrounding my home. I feel this is probably more of a 'societal' issue than one specifically affecting our neighborhood. 5/25/2017 3:27 PM 5/25/ :55 AM 5 Cats... people let them out constantly, they use my gardens as litter boxes and torment my indoor cats. 5/25/ :51 AM 6 Theft near peter Hobart school a few weeks ago. 5/24/2017 6:58 PM 7 There has been increased police activity in the area it seems related to different situations. The one I remember most was on Georgia (which is my street) when there were suspects in backyards 8 There's a group of teenagers that at times walk down the street around sundown. They've held up traffic on the street and played on my neighbors front tree swing, almost breaking it. I've seen them doing these antics several times already this spring. 9 Vehicular traffic. The posted speed limit is 30 mph throughout most of Bronx Park. This is too fast. It encourages people to take shortcuts through the neighborhood at which is too fast for a neighborhood of kids, dogs, and bikes. While an unlikely solution..would like to see an enforced 20 mph on The side streets off of the main mph roads of Minnetonka, Excelsior, Louisiana, cedar Lake etc. Neighbor across the street lets their dog wander..the dog isn't dangerous..just not friendly and neighbor claims that they are unable to catch or call the dog to them when it gets out? Brunswick Ave middle of block, railroad side is where the dog lives. Parking rules in winter do not make sense. They should let you park wherever you want at night..tow from 9-10, plow from 10-6 Instead they plow at night..if you have a permit they plow you in...side streets should be plowed during the day when we are at work. Vandalism is a problem..but is pretty random. They broke our car windows a couple of years ago. 5/24/2017 5:29 PM 5/24/2017 3:59 PM 5/21/2017 1:20 PM 10 armed robbery incident at 28th & Georgia in April, several tire thefts and garage thefts, package thefts from front steps 5/20/2017 9:42 AM 11 Speeding through the neighborhood. Off leash animals. Street parking random vehicles in front of house. Recent suspicious activity and cars on blocks in the morning. 12 I'm on Brunswick, and this spring seems worse than ever with people speeding down our street to get to the dog park. It is unnerving with small children out on their bikes and walking. People seem to have no regard for their speed. The thefts are all second hand accounts from friends in the neighborhood or from the next-door website people talking about garage break-ins and home break ins or people stealing tires off of vehicles parked on the street.. Fortunately, we have had no problems on our specific block that I've heard of. 13 Dakota & 29th St W - too many accidents. People drive too fast from Minnetonka Blvd to 28th without a stop sign. It is a major road that leads to a school so there are many bikers, walkers, & kids. A stop sign on Dakota & 29th would alleviate the fear of a kid getting killed someday. A digital "Your Speed" sign appears once or twice a year, but it is usually only for 24 hours and doesn't get the point across. 5/18/2017 5:59 PM 5/16/2017 8:32 AM 5/15/2017 3:24 PM 16 / 28

17 Jersey has the most obnoxious dogs they bark all day and are terrifying! If one of those dogs got loose while walking by, they would eat someone. 15 Speeding traffic, must be doing at least 40, between Idaho and Louisiana on 27th St. With the increase of dog walkers to dog park, P.O., Kids on bikes, bikers to bike trails it is getting dangerous. Don't have any solutions, stop sign won't work. 5/10/2017 4:23 PM 5/10/2017 8:32 AM 16 Fireworks, fire pits too close to homes/garages, loud/late parties 5/8/2017 9:16 PM 17 Loud, frequently barking dog(s). Making walkers walk in the street or across the street and often resort to another route. Lots of traffic on 28th street, loud and fast. Not stopping at stop signs, RR tracks. I am concerned, not aware of drug activity or thefts. Would call if I witness suspicious activity as there was about 2-3 weeks ago, with police cars on my corner. 5/8/2017 7:24 PM 18 Speeding on narrow roads; parking during snow emergencies; nuisance thefts from yards and garages. 5/7/ :40 AM 19 Vehicles running stop sign, 27th & Hampshire. All times of the day. Neighbor has 2 barking dogs. Daytime mostly. 5/6/2017 3:02 PM 20 Traffic rate of speed on Dakota Avenue. 5/6/ :20 AM 21 I don't have specifics. Just accounting for the activities I've heard or read about in the paper, online, and from neighbors 22 Cars speeding around Peter Hobart school to 26th St. All times daily. Parties late night around w 26th street on friday/sat nights. Party goers wondering streets intoxicated. 23 Rental home on Florida Ave South. Noise improved after last renters left. Now too many cars parked on the street. Makes it difficult for the owners in neighboring homes to get in and out. 24 I have seen some suspicious activity at the corner of 27th and Florida. I have not called because I don't have anything specific to report. 5/6/2017 8:18 AM 5/6/2017 7:58 AM 5/5/ :57 PM 5/5/ :04 PM 25 A couple neighbors dogs barking occasionally. Early evening typically. 5/5/2017 6:07 PM 26 27th and Florida. Southwest corner. Frequent suspicious activity. 5/5/2017 6:05 PM Florida Avenue S - suspicious activity & possible drug activity observed over last couple of months (cars arrive frequently through the day & night - different people- who go into the house & stay for less than minutes. In addition to Alex Wilensky who lives there, it appears that he may be allowing more than two boarders/renters to live there as well (a woman & two men). 28 Louisiana Ave - people going too fast and using it as an outlet when 100 was closed and now again with the 169 closures. 29 I have heard of theft of tires and wheels off of cars around Birchwood. I know that's not Bronx but it's right next to Bronx which concerns me. Also, I've heard of home thefts and break ins. 5/5/2017 5:46 PM 5/5/2017 3:58 PM 5/3/2017 8:34 PM 30 Lots of cars parking for 5-10 minutes. not sure where the people go between 4pm-10pm 5/3/2017 3:09 PM 31 Always speeding cars and running stop signs. I have not been a victim of theft but see it posted on NextDoor often enough. 32 On Nextdoor, I frequently see posts about packages being taken from doorsteps (cars following delivery vehicles for this purpose), and things like stolen items from garages, cars, etc. I believe a package was stolen from my doorstep a couple years ago, but I can't be sure, and there's really no recourse for it (delivery service said it was delivered, I never received it). 5/3/2017 2:29 PM 5/3/2017 1:11 PM 33 Many dogs remain unleashed on walking trails behind Peter Hobart school. There is never any patrols or enforcement. 5/3/ :54 PM 34 Concerned about recent car part thefts and suspect chases in the area 5/3/2017 8:30 AM block of Florida Ave S. Car driving too fast on the block. Suspicious activity at a house at the end of the block Florida Ave S and 26th St. Reports of problems in the evening hours where police are in the neighborhood looking for someone after a robbery. 5/3/2017 7:23 AM 36 I have just seen reports of these on Nextdoor App and in the Sun Sailor 5/3/2017 6:43 AM 37 Dakota ave speeding, running stop lights. Dakota ave 28th block, loud and screaming children, father says its a hang out for his kids friends but its not a playground. Complained to parents, but it continues. After school and weekends days and nights after 10. Not sure what i can do anymore, since the father thinks he lives on two acres in the country. Im sure the visiting children cannot do this at their house its not allowed but at playgrounds and at my neighbors house. Would appreciate some advice from you. 5/2/2017 9:35 PM 17 / 28

18 38 lots of off leash dogs throughout the neighborhood. Lots of people think the stop signs at 29th and hampshire are optional. Speeding all throughout the neighborhood. 39 I live on Dakota. Vehicular traffic FLIES by my house at a high rate of speed on a daily basis and at all hours. There is a home on Dakota in which two or maybe three chihuahuas live. The owner regularly lets the dogs out the front door off leash and they charge passing leashed dogs. Also, dogs are often off leash while their human plays fetch with them in the unfenced area by the ball fields to the right of Peter Hobart School. I witnessed a drug deal next to my house but that rental neighbor has now moved. The new renter blasts music out open windows at 3:30am but I went over, banged on the front door for several minutes and told it to stop. So far, so good. Next time, I'll call the police. I am aware of several Black Lives Matter signs that have been stolen in this area. There seem to be frequent car break-ins, and recent police involvement related to armed robberies and something that required a helicopter search overhead. I am from St. Louis, Missouri -- a high-crime city. I can honestly say that I felt safer in St. Louis as opposed to in St. Louis Park. I plan to move back to St. Louis next summer. This area is just not a place I want to live. 5/2/2017 9:34 PM 5/2/2017 9:13 PM 40 Cars speed through neighborhood all day. Dogs are consistently off leash. Recent string of crime and thefts. 5/2/2017 8:46 PM 41 Parking : we have cars that sit in front of our house for days at a time. Cars that sometimes we don't recognize too. Especially a pain in the winter for snow removal but more of an inconvenience. I think neighbors allow friends to park on our street for days (maybe when they go out of town?) Drug activity: on the corner of our street (29th and Colorado) the owners son was involved with a drug deal gone bad. This brought drug dealers to our neighborhood and they also shot at the owners house. The Nextdoor app also shows other examples of possible other drug activity. Theft and suspicious activity: There have been a number of cars that have had their tires and/or rims taken throughout the night. We need city lights on our blocks. Our streets are too dark and not lit. Also have had students driving down our alley screaming, slamming on their breaks, then taking off full speed playing some nerf gun game? Lots of cars going through alley ways that don't belong. There was also some crime committed on the corner of Dakota and Minnetonka blvd this last year/fall???? There was crime tape up, but never heard about it. Saw some rumors on Nextdoor app. There was also a kid napping and a break in I believe in georgia and 28th recently? Terrifying!!! 42 Excessive speeding on neighborhood streets, middle of the day on weekdays and immediately after Peter Hobart school lets out. 43 Traffic on 27th (and I'm sure other through streets) goes very fast. Makes me nervous with a toddler. Seems to have been an increase of vehicle, personal belonging and home thefts lately in Bronx Park specifically. Suspicious activity: Helicopter/searching for people. 44 Nuisance animals... I choose NOT to walk anywhere near the Dakota park because of the people who seem to think the off leash area extends outside the fenced dog park, into the baseball fields and onto the streets. I hate being charged by "friendly" dogs off leash and that's where they are. I just stay away. Suspicious activity is a concern because I am using NextDoor and don't know what to believe... I suggest the city monitor that and occasionally post some info as needed to keep folks informed. On both topics people can get carried away due to the anonymous nature of the website, but I am concerned it may hold misinformation. I was walking at 8:30pm recently and got rattled by someone on the street behaving in a peculiar fashion - perhaps because I had been reading NextDoor. If I had called police or posted it to NextDoor I would have stirred people up for nothing. 45 Around noon during the holiday season, there was a man looking at packages on people's steps. I had packages on my step when he opened his side door and could see he already had packages in the vehicle. I called the non emergency police, they sent an officer out to look for him, told me to call 911 in the future. 46 Traffic: drivers rolling through stop signs and generally being more aggressive than situations warrant. For example, the four way stop by McDonald's and the H.S. Theft: package theft during the work day. Many reports by neighbors and one package personally lost. I now only receive package at work. 47 Parking during snow emergencies, also people parking illegally multiple times, too close to corner for days at a time, vehicles parking facing wrong way overnight, people driving too fast on the street and not stopping at stop signs, in general I feel more patrols in the neighborhoods are needed, not just the main streets 48 There is still a lot of speeding traffic coming down Florida Ave S from Peter Hobart. I and my son have been almost hit on numerous occasions as moms in minivans come down our road with no concern for our family. The house on the corner of 27th and Florida Ave S has random people coming and going at all hours, there is noticeable marijuana smoke coming from the home and paraphernalia in the yard. There are children here as well. We have reported this to SLP Police but it still occurs. I also believe prostitutes are being solicited to this home. People come to this home for short bursts (under 10 minutes) repeatedly throughout the day. We have also seen children sitting outside on late night dog walks. 5/2/2017 8:04 PM 5/2/2017 7:31 PM 5/2/2017 6:24 PM 5/2/2017 5:46 PM 5/2/2017 5:40 PM 5/2/2017 5:26 PM 5/2/2017 4:32 PM 5/2/2017 3:37 PM 49 I have heard stories of packages being stolen from front porches, however this has not happened to me. 5/2/2017 3:30 PM 50 When cars are parked on both sides of the street, they become very narrow and sometimes hard to navigate. This is especially true in the winter. 5/2/2017 2:43 PM 51 too many people parking on the street instead of driveway or garage 5/2/2017 2:37 PM 18 / 28

19 52 Live on Colorado Ave S. North of Minnetonka and south of Dakota park. We have had issues of people racing up and down alley ways, parking always seems to be an issue, especially bin winter. Snow emergencies should be forced with stiffer penalties because if car is not moved and they plow it is an extreme inconvenience due to the left over hard packed snow that gets left over and then plowed onto the sidewalk a day or two later. In addition there are cars that park for weeks on end without moving. I have not been affected by any thefts or been witness to but I have heard of quite a few on neighboring streets that have voiced concerns via social media and it is only of matter of time or luck this could effect our street. 53 Parking can be an issue at night especially when one neighbor parks their work dump truck on the street in front of our house. I would like to see the city adopt an ordinance prohibiting residents from parking "work" vehicles on the street overnight. If a resident owns a "work" vehicle it must be parked in the alley or garage. 5/2/2017 2:12 PM 5/2/2017 1:48 PM 54 Traffic speeds and not stopping on 26thhi 5/2/2017 1:33 PM 19 / 28

24 6 Invites to meetings in the evening. When a police officer drives by me and my neighbors working or talking in the yard maybe slow down and say hi, ask what's going on, how we are doing. Maybe someone could do this on Saturday mornings, afternoons while people are out cleaning up gardens and yards. Just a quick check in to see how things are going. Let me know you are there in my neighborhood and that you have some idea of what is going on or care to learn. 7 I have no interest in receiving graffiti effort information and given my active plan to move, I don't particularly care about neighborhood associations. As far as a bike patrol, if there is one, the best way for me to become familiar is to see the patrol in action in Bronx Park. 5/3/2017 7:23 AM 5/2/2017 9:13 PM 8 Neighborhood newsletter 5/2/2017 4:32 PM 24 / 28

And asks for the publics help in identifying them. They seem to garner a lot of attention and re-posts and perhaps engages the community more on their page. Also, the small blurbs on the police blotter section of the Sun Sailor seem to be insufficient when compared to the stories flying around on NextDoor when issues are taking place in SLP. Informative and also showing some great community service. 5/5/2017 3:58 PM 25 Police activity in the city. A couple of times over the years police cars chased around the neighborhood at night with red lights, spotlights and then disappear. My past experience with the police was always something like: that they can't release any information as it is under investigation. More transparency would be nice. 5/5/2017 2:18 PM 25 / 28

I believe we have had 2 perimeters in the neighborhood recently, and we have relied on assumptions and gossiping on neighborhood sites to learn more. 34 I don't look at the SLP Police Department FB page. 27 Q18 Please type any additional comments, concerns, or suggestions you may have for the St. Louis Park Police Department. If there is something that you feel needs immediate attention, please call the police non-emergency phone number at If you have a concern that you would like us to contact you about, please specify the concern below and provide daytime contact information. Thank you. Answered: 20 Skipped: 64 # Responses Date 1 I have had the most interactions with the police department through neighborhood block parties. I think SLP does an excellent job with outreach--thank you! 5/25/2017 3:27 PM 2 The Police have always done a wonderful job in the few times I have needed them. Very professional. 5/25/2017 3:09 PM 3 No immediate concerns here. I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of those involved in doing the work you do; your efforts don't go unnoticed. Given our proximity to Minneapolis' downtown, I am sincerely taken aback by how truly safe and secure a community you allow us to live in. Keep up the outstanding work! Bill 5/25/ :55 AM 4 I haven't lived in SLP long but I have not felt unsafe in any way. 5/24/2017 5:29 PM 5 I have lived in my house since December 2015 and feel fortunate to be in St. Louis Park. 5/23/2017 8:39 AM 6 Some speeding emphasis on Brunswick would greatly be appreciated. A motorcycle officer posted up behind a car parked on the street and ticketing/warning speeders would make me feel much safer having my kids out on their bikes and walking across the street to their friends house. 7 Good job. Helpful when called about a carbon monoxide alarm procedure on a Sunday. You seem to respond quickly (Georgia incident recently.) 5/16/2017 8:32 AM 5/15/2017 8:09 PM 8 Thanks for all that you do and keeping our community a safe place to live! 5/10/2017 4:23 PM 9 St. Louis Park has always been a great place to live during the 66 years I have basically lived here. 5/10/2017 8:32 AM 10 Thank you, all, for the great work you do. We thank and value you all! 5/7/ :40 AM 11 I think our police department is great. Our officers are wonderful people that really care about our community! 5/6/2017 8:18 AM 12 Thank you for the survey!! It's nice to know the community cares. 5/5/2017 6:05 PM 13 Request: execute 'sting' operation at 2700 Florida Avenue- undercover agent attempt to buy drugs Verify how many unrelated persons live at 2700 Florida Avenue S. 14 I think the SLP police and neighborhood groups do a good job promoting the non-emergency line to report suspecious behavoir 15 Always concerned about police and community relations. My kids' friends are largely people of color and I am very saddened at how anti-police they are. Always looking for opportunities to create and grow positive relationships in the community. I think it would be useful to have some very clear community education on how everyone, but youth in particular, should act when pulled over by the police. Thank you for helping protect and support our wonderful SLP community. 16 The package stealing really seems to be a big problem. Is it possible to have an unmarked car monitor package delivery once in a while, or set up a gps-tracked package or something...? 17 I am an avid walker and use the trails. At times I use the crosswalks to cross a street. The round-abouts on Louisiana ave. are dangerous to pedestrians. Drivers ignore crosswalks. Also, the crosswalks on cedar lake road West of Louisiana are ignored by drivers. 5/5/2017 5:46 PM 5/3/2017 3:09 PM 5/3/2017 2:29 PM 5/3/2017 1:11 PM 5/3/ :54 PM 27 / 28

28 18 My family knows that the St. Louis Park police are doing a great job and cannot complain. I would just like to see more of them. Jeff Kropelnicki 2736 Florida Ave S. 5/3/2017 7:23 AM 19 Thank you for all you do. I know there are an infinite amount of things we ask for your help with, we appreciate it! 5/2/2017 9:34 PM 20 More visual presence in the neighborhoods, especially with recent hearings of crime, off leash dogs, reckless driving perhaps more visual presence and enforcement would discourage such activity, I never see patrols in my neighborhood, only see police if there is an incident occuring 5/2/2017 4:32 PM 28 / 28
